Tonia's POV
"Are you alright?" The woman's voice cut through my haze, snapping me back to the present moment.
I gulped hard and scanned the area around us. How many more of them were out there?
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Good. You still haven't answered what I asked you. Do you recognize who she is?"
My gaze flickered back down to the photograph in her hands.
I lifted my shoulders casually. "No idea. I wish I could be more helpful."
Her icy stare remained fixed on me for several heartbeats. But I refused to linger any longer. I rushed back to Gia's side and insisted we had to go immediately.
The moment I reached the safety of my home, I frantically dialed Lucien's number, my fingers trembling as I recounted every terrifying detail.
"They've found me. What do I do now? What happens when they encounter someone who actually recognizes me? Lucien, I'm terrified!" The words tumbled out in a breathless rush.
"Tonia, you need to breathe. We can't be certain she's working alone."
