The surgery lasted for what felt like an eternity before we finally succeeded.
The moment those bullets came out and my fingers made contact with his wounded flesh, I could sense his body responding to my healing touch.
The medical team around me had no idea what was really happening.
They couldn't see how my supernatural abilities were accelerating his recovery process.
"He should regain consciousness shortly. All he requires now is proper rest," I informed the surgical team before stepping out of the operating room.
I hurried toward the nearest bathroom to scrub the blood from my hands. My entire body was trembling uncontrollably, and tears began streaming down my face without warning.
I had nearly lost Lucien forever. Without my presence here to heal him, the outcome would have been completely different.
