Kermit's POV
I raised an eyebrow at her but remained silent.
"There's something you're hiding from all of us. I might not know exactly what it is, but I can sense it surrounding you like a bad smell." She made an exaggerated sniffing motion.
"Something stinks about you. I've always felt it every single time I look at you. And if you ever sit on that throne," she gestured toward the empty seat of power on the elevated platform, "it will bring nothing but chaos."
I lifted my shoulders in an indifferent gesture. "I have no idea what you're referring to, Laura."
"Oh, but we both know that's a lie." She spun around to face the elders.
"You cannot allow him on that throne. You have to stop this from happening. I'm warning you all, if Kermit Shadowmere becomes our ruler, he will bring devastation to our people. He's completely wrong for this position. Absolutely wrong." Her gaze darkened as she turned back to me. "And he's fully aware of it."
