The pieces clicked together instantly. My mouth fell open in shock.
Of course! She had to be Kermit' sister. The unstable one. Or the formerly unstable one. Maybe she still was unstable. I honestly had no clue.
Getting information about her from the twins' caretakers had been simple enough. They all had plenty to share since they had witnessed her breakdown firsthand when she murdered four people years ago.
"Hello, Gia." I forced a smile across my face.
"I never asked you to pretend." She rolled her eyes as if this whole interaction bored her senseless. Honestly, I was in such a foul mood that talking to anyone felt like torture.
"Why are you involved with my brother? That's what I want to know."
Seriously? She was actually going to push this conversation?
I drew in a slow breath and tucked loose hair strands behind my ear.
"Much as I would enjoy chatting with you right now" Total lie. "I really need to leave."
