Tonia's POV
The woman's body language screamed discomfort as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "I haven't had contact with my sister in years. I have no idea where she might be."
She attempted to retreat and close the door, but Lucien's reflexes were faster, his hand shooting out to keep it open.
"Listen, we're not here to cause trouble. If there's anything you know that could help us, please consider sharing it. The reason we need to find her is important."
"I already explained this to you - I know nothing," she said sharply, her voice cutting through the air like a blade. "Now remove yourselves from my property and stop this search for my sister."
The door slammed with such force that the sound echoed through the quiet neighborhood.
My eyes met Lucien's. "She's concealing something from us."
"Without question."
