Chapter 28 - [24] Introductions First!

From today, I hereby pledge to upload daily. Am I lying? I don't know, but I'm fixing the update schedule and going back to my prime (one month ago btw)

Frost-like silver hair tied back loosely in pigtails, she was wearing a white cloak with multiple different designs on them, she also had sharp-like ears, like an elf. But most importantly…

"Oh wow! You're kind of short!" I said, looking at her with a curious expression.

"Gojo! Don't be rude to our esteemed mage, Frieren the elf!" Heiter said with a mischievous smile on his face.

"Aye don't forget about me," a masculine voice said this time.

"Oh wow! You're even shorter!" I said, looking at a very very very very short man, probably dwarfism, he had a very long beard that went down to his chest, he also wore a viking helmet so you pretty much couldn't see his face. He also wore a red-cape. He would've looked cool if he wasn't short.

The man asked, "what was that?" he tilted his head towards me, even though half of his face was covered I could tell that he seemed slightly annoyed.

"Heiter, is this a new friend of yours?" the short man asked.

"Oh! Eisen you're here early as well! Nice to see you and yes this is my new friend Gojo Satoru!" Heiter said, clapping his hands together, he had a bright smile on his face.

"Heiter it's only been two years and yet you called on me again, I'm confused but if there is a demon who needs taking down I'm willing to join," Frieren said.

"I see how you're a first-class mage Frieren, masking your mana is no small feat, it even took me a little bit of time," I said towards Frieren.

Frieren tilted her head.

"You noticed? Very interesting, where did you find him, Heiter?" Frieren said, "or maybe the blindfolds are a magical artifact."

"So what was that disturbance, I felt a battle going on nearby," Eisen said towards Heiter.

"We'll get onto that later," Heiter replied.

"But for now I think introductions are most important!" Heiter said.

"Gojo Satoru here is a mage of a high caliber, and not only that, he is a very proficient fighter," Heiter said, "Frieren here is the most knowledgeable and strongest mage in the world, she also thinks ten years is a short time, but who can blame her she is an elf."

Frieren turned to Heiter with a puzzled expression, "human life is so short and fragile, ten years is nothing but a fraction of my life expectancy."

Heiter chuckled, "yeah yeah, but ten years is a lot of time regardless. And Eisen here is basically the tank of the group, he's super strong and durable. He's a dwarf but don't underestimate him, he's strong," Heiter explained.

It was kind of interesting how in just a few days, I had met the pinnacle of strength in this world, well they were a party but nonetheless interesting.

"Nice to meet you all! Since Heiter already introduced me, could I potentially get a spar after the whole reason for your meet-up is explained!" I said with the most polite tone I could pull out.

"You're a mage right? If you have any good spells I would be willing to have a spar in exchange for them," Frieren said with a smile on her face.

My mind went black, an interesting spell… I could probably try and recreate limitless magic and show it to her. I mean the process involved is so complicated that you would need the six eyes to even remotely try and re-create it. Even if magic is more simplified it is nearly impossible for her to re-create it.

"Sure, I've got something interesting," I replied back with a cheeky grin.

She went up to me, grabbed my hands and put on a bright smile, her ears seemed to relax ever so slightly and swinged from side-to-side, "you promise?"

"Pinky promise," I said. She released my hand before turning to Heiter.

"So what happened earlier? You never explained."

"Gojo killed a demon who was after revenge because he killed another demon," Heiter explained.

"How honorable Gojo, taking down that race is an effort always appreciated," Eisen said bowing down.

Honorable.

"Oh it's cool, it was actually my student who took the demon down. While I may have helped a little it feels weird to be credited for something I didn't do," I replied.

That made me think back to jujutsu. I hope my old students are able to take down Sukuna. I had done some of the heavy-lifting and now it was up-to-them. Well it's not like I could do much to help them now, but I can't necessarily pray for their downfall.

Heiter just smiled, Eisen looked humble, calm and composed, Frieren on the other hand seemed kind of excited.

"Now on to business."

The air settled as Heiter's tone shifted. The easy warmth he carried faded into something colder, something more befitting a priest who had witnessed too many tragedies. Frieren's expression grew attentive, and Eisen straightened slightly, the floorboard creaking under his stance.

I watched them, each of them legendary in their own right, suddenly becoming serious. Even Frieren's relaxed ears tensed.

Whatever Heiter was about to say was not something trivial.

He folded his hands behind his back and approached the table, the faint light from the stained glass window catching the edges of his robes.

"The reason I called for help," Heiter said slowly, "is because the disturbances around this region are not random. The demons are coordinated. Something is pulling them together."

Frieren's face sharpened. "One of the Seven Sages of the Demon King?"

"Possibly," Heiter answered. "But something about their movements feels wrong. As if they are searching for something."

Heiter's gaze drifted toward me for a moment. "Or someone."

I remained silent. I already knew what Heiter suspected, but it was too early to confirm anything.

Heiter let out a quiet, tired exhale. "We will move at dawn. If we do not investigate this now, the town will be the first to fall."

Frieren looked at me again. "If you are joining us, then tomorrow will be a good chance to see your strength."

Eisen nodded. "Prepare yourself. Demons in groups are quite rare and honestly more dangerous."

"Good. I was getting bored anyway."
