Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Second Martial Soul

[Ding, detected: Binding target is over five kilometers away from host.]

  "Is there still binding distance?"

Ning Chuan had no choice but to give up for the moment. He sat cross-legged and began meditating according to Professor Su Yuntao's method to increase his soul power.

It had to be said that the Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword, having eliminated its side effects and gained beneficial feedback, was still of very high quality. While not as good as those artifact souls with innate full soul power, it was very close.

The improvement in the quality of his martial soul was accompanied by an increase in his cultivation speed.

In just a moment, his depleted soul power was restored to its original state, and even showed signs of improvement.

  "Try the second martial soul."

He slowly raised his right hand. This time, his soul power was not instantly drained by the martial soul, but a gleaming silver sphere appeared in his hand.

The silver sphere was not large, only the size of an adult's fist, but the eerie silver light it shone with was extremely eye-catching.

Ning Chuan stood by the stream, concentrating silently.

He had a feeling that he had heard of this silver sphere somewhere, or even seen it before, but he just couldn't place it.

However, this spirit must be connected to his first spirit, after all, it was matched by the system using that first spirit.

  "Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword!"

Ning Chuan's mind flashed with inspiration, as if something had occurred to him.

He hastily poured all his soul power into the silver sphere.

But the silver sphere seemed inert, motionless.

Seeing this, Ning Chuan couldn't help but smile bitterly, a look of disgust shared by many readers. His soul power was still too low.

With just this little soul power, it simply wasn't enough to control the silver sphere.

"Looks like finding a power bank is urgent,"

Ning Chuan sighed, his gaze turning towards Holy Soul Village.

Old Tom's voice rang from the distance, "Little Six, it's half past twelve. Time to go home for lunch."

  "Oh, I'm coming,"

Ning Chuan replied, rising and heading towards Old Tom's house.

After lunch, Ning Chuan eagerly arrived within five kilometers of Holy Soul Village, not even taking a breath.

To reach there quickly, he even used his meager soul power.

[Ding, host's physical strength has been excessively depleted. Do you want to bind the recipient?]

[Ding, host's soul power has been excessively depleted. Do you want to bind the recipient?]

  "Bind everything to Tang Hao!"

Tang Hao was a Titled Douluo, and a Strength-type Titled Douluo at that. Both his physical and soul power were exceptional. This way, if successful, Ning Chuan would have virtually unlimited physical and soul power.

  [Ding, Binding Successful]

Instantly, the soul power and physical strength, previously depleted by the sprint, were restored.

"Now I can finally test this second martial spirit."

Ning Chuan glanced at the small forest beside the road and plunged into it.

Once he was deep enough to no longer see the road behind him,

Ning Chuan raised his left hand and summoned a silver sphere. As soul power continued to flow into it, after a moment, the previously motionless silver sphere finally transformed.

Like sand, it instantly fragmented into tiny specks of silver light and emitted a buzzing sound.

Upon closer inspection, he saw that the silvery flashes were actually tiny, bean-sized flying insects. Aside from a pair of visible fangs, they looked just like ordinary beetles.

He couldn't discern anything special about them, but a smile crossed Ning Chuan's face.

He was reminded of a strange insect from the book "Mortal Cultivation to Immortality."

It was also one of Han Lao Mo's two longest-standing trademarks.

  The gold-eating insect!

These ferocious, swarming insects love to share their food, devouring metal and the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. They are incredibly ferocious, impervious to water and fire, and tend to congregate in spheres. They can trap jade and wood, and spiders and other strange insects are mutually exclusive.

As for his other signature weapon, it was naturally the Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Sword, used from the Jindan stage all the way to Daozu.

"Tongzi, you're not lying to me. Let's see how it works."

He took out the flint he had prepared long ago, gathered some dry firewood, and started a fire.

Ning Chuan directed the swarm of insects into the fire. Far from being reduced to ash, the insects were actually alive and kicking.

They devoured the burning flames at an extremely fast speed, and in an instant, the flames were extinguished. Only a pile of unburned dry firewood remained.

Next, Ning Chuan found a puddle and threw the insects into it. The insects devoured even the mud below.

"Although I can't confirm whether they are real gold-eating insects, at least their fearlessness of water and fire is true."

Ning Chuan nodded in satisfaction. He defined his second martial soul as a gold-eating insect.

  Buzz!

Just then, for no apparent reason, Ning Chuan felt an extremely strong sense of dizziness, as if the whole world was spinning.

[Ding! Excessive mental energy consumption detected in the host. Do you want to bind a subject?] "

It seems controlling the gold-eating bugs requires a bit of mental energy. Really, it's just controlling bugs, after all."

  "Bind to Tang Hao!"

Ning Chuan didn't take it personally. After all, when faced with a challenge, he could just bind to Tang Hao.

  [Bind Successful!]

Suddenly, Ning Chuan felt a surge of clarity. His dizziness and discomfort subsided, and he felt incredibly energetic.

"Since I'm here, I might as well use a few more side effects."

  First, the Soul Power Meditation.

It's well known that if a Soul Master practices excessively, their meridians can become overwhelmed, forcing them to stop practicing.

This is especially true for those with lower cultivation levels.

Consequently, they fall behind, step by step.

This is one of the reasons why those with low innate Soul Power cultivate slowly.

So, Ning Chuan simply found a quiet corner, sat down cross-legged, and began meditating to increase his Soul Power.

A quarter of an hour passed, and

Ning Chuan felt his Soul Power increase slightly. He didn't feel any discomfort.

  Half an hour later,

and Ning Chuan began to feel a slight swelling and pain.

An hour passed, and Ning Chuan could no longer hold on. His meridians throbbed with pain, making it impossible to continue practicing.

  At this moment,

the system notification chimed in Ning Chuan's mind again: [Ding! Host meridian damage detected (excessive meditation). Do you want to specify a recipient?]

"Although Tang Ritian has suffered a hidden injury, he's still a Titled Douluo, with incredibly strong meridians. This side effect is nothing to him!"

  "Bind to Tang Hao!"

Ning Chuan chose Tang Hao without hesitation.

  [Ding, Binding Successful!]

Instantly, Ning Chuan felt his previously swollen and aching meridians heal.

Next came 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, 100 push-ups, 100 frog jumps, 100 side jumps, and a 10-kilometer run carrying a weighted stone. With Tang Hao's power bank, Ning Chuan had virtually unlimited stamina.

[Ding! Host muscle strain detected. Do you want to bind a recipient?]

[Ding! Host periosteum abrasion detected. Do you want to bind a recipient?]

  [Ding! Host detected]
