Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Harry Osborn

"Revenge..." Harry's eyes flashed with confusion. "Can I really get revenge? That menace is incredibly powerful..."

"Coward!" The figure in the mirror roared with anger, chastising him. "You are a coward!"

"No! I am not a coward! I already sent Doctor Octopus to capture him! I will kill him with my own hands!" Harry shouted defiantly. He viciously threw the drawn dagger at the mirror.

CRASH! With a sharp sound, the full-length mirror shattered. Shards of glass scattered across the floor. To Harry's astonishment, a secret room was revealed behind the shattered mirror! The room was covered in cobwebs and dust from years of disuse. At the end of the only pathway in the room, there was another door!

After a moment of hesitation, Harry cautiously stepped over the broken glass and walked toward the door.

Step.Step.Step... His crisp footsteps echoed in the secret room. As he drew closer to the door, Harry's heart began to beat rapidly. Finally, he stopped in front of the door, reaching out to place his hand on the dust-covered doorknob. He had a strong feeling. He was sure that behind this door, something was calling to him!

CREAK— With a groan, the wooden door, having been unopened for so long, shed a thick layer of dust, dirtying Harry's perfectly styled hair and expensive suit, making the pampered young master look like a street vagrant.

But Harry paid no attention to his appearance. His eyes were fixed on an object sitting on a shelf by the door. It was a teal-green metal mask, with sharp teeth and wide eyes, resembling a demon. He knew exactly what it was. Two years ago, a super-villain in green armor, utilizing high-tech weaponry—exploding pumpkin bombs and a high-speed glider—caused chaos in the city center. Then, the villain mysteriously vanished. Some said Spider-Man defeated him, causing him to repent and change his ways. Others said he left the city. But now, Harry knew they were all wrong. The reason he vanished was... he died!

His father was The Green Goblin!

HUM— A light suddenly flickered on behind him. Harry turned, seeing rows of shelves installed in the wall, neatly stacked with spheres the size of a fist, shaped somewhat like pumpkins. These were the Green Goblin's signature Pumpkin Bombs! This discovery further confirmed his father's secret identity. Since the armor and bombs were here, what else?

Harry walked further in. Soon, a workbench appeared before him. On the workbench, there was a partially assembled Glider!

Harry walked to the table, gently placing his hand on the glider. He was young, but as the son of a technology mogul, his knowledge was extensive. This glider, and the rows of pumpkin bombs behind him, were the tools of his revenge! They were the true legacy his father left him!

He turned around and noticed an open hidden compartment where a glass tube was stored. He picked up the tube. A shimmering green liquid slowly flowed inside as he tilted it. The cold sensation permeated his hand and reached his heart, slowly freezing his emotions.

THUD! A loud noise echoed. The house subtly trembled. One loud noise, one shudder—it was rhythmic. Ordinarily, Harry, being just a regular human, wouldn't have noticed the subtle tremor, but the secret room was cleverly designed. Combined with the sudden silence, he immediately sensed the disturbance. Crucially, he had experienced this feeling before!

It was Doctor Octopus!

Harry's eyes narrowed. He carefully placed the glass tube of green liquid back into the compartment and closed it. Then, he walked to the shelves, picked up a Pumpkin Bomb, tested it to make sure it fit in his hand, and tucked it away.

Having done all this, Harry closed the secret room door and walked back along the corridor to his main room. When Harry exited his father's room and returned to his own, he found two unwelcome guests: One was his "old acquaintance," Doctor Octopus! The other was Mary Jane Watson!

"MJ?" Harry rushed forward. "Otto, what do you want with her? Let her go!"

Seeing Harry's reaction, Doctor Octopus smiled faintly. His spur-of-the-moment decision was correct. This girl and the clean-cut young man clearly had a secret relationship!

Wait, wasn't this girl Peter's girlfriend? He remembered seeing them together recently at a café. Doctor Octopus glanced suspiciously at Mary Jane, whom he was holding with a mechanical tentacle. But he quickly lost interest in the relationship. What did the romantic entanglements of young people have to do with him? He only wanted the Tritium to continue his great experiment!

He, Otto Octavius, was destined to become the world's greatest scientist! Because he would harness the power of the sun and possess infinite energy!

These grand aspirations forcefully brought Doctor Octopus back to the present. He lifted Mary Jane higher into the air, instantly eliciting a panicked scream from her.

"Now, give me the Tritium! Otherwise, I will kill her right here!"

"No, this isn't what we agreed upon!" Harry roared. He was still trying to maintain a semblance of sanity, unwilling to expose his deal with Doctor Octopus to capture Spider-Man in front of Mary Jane.

"Is that so? Then prepare to collect her corpse!" Doctor Octopus sneered, and the mechanical claw at the tentacle's tip began to exert force. Mary Jane shrieked repeatedly as her bones audibly cracked under the pressure.

"Stop, stop, stop it, you bastard!" Harry panicked. He gritted his teeth, ran to the wall, pushed aside a large painting, and revealed a safe. Harry quickly entered the code and opened the safe. Inside was a meticulously crafted high-pressure container. And stored within the container was the radioactive element Doctor Octopus craved Tritium!

The sight of the Tritium instantly excited Doctor Octopus. He casually tossed Mary Jane onto a nearby sofa, while one mechanical tentacle shoved Harry away. His body was involuntarily drawn toward the safe containing the Tritium.

And at that moment...

"Die, you bastard!" Accompanied by a roar, a round object was viciously hurled by Harry toward Doctor Octopus!
