Chapter 20 - CHAPTER TWENTY: Reason

" You did a nice job and I must say I'm very elated," Davis said commending Richard after his return from Timox.

He made sure his first port of visitation, immediately he returned was Davis office and luckily he also met Victory there.

" Thank you Sir, I only did as you instructed," Richard said smiling.

His main concern was to move up the ladder immediately he was employed and luck smiled at him when he was selected for that kind of work, which he knows will be the rise of his promotion especially when he accomplished it as desired.

" No, you did more than expected. Even though I had great expectations considering what I heard about you, but you showed me that you could do better," Davis said smiling,he felt that the only hinderance had been eliminated.

" Exactly,we ordered you to hand over the fool to the police yourself, but you made the police find out without stressing yourself. You will actually make a reliable agent,if you continue like this," Victory said in acknowledgement of his work.

He was incredulous when Davis suggested that they should use Richard for the task considering the fact that he too had a personal hatred for Ven and he was amazed at the way he achieved that diligently.

" Don't worry, you will be highly rewarded as promised. Rest for few days while I sort your new position," Davis said.

" Thank you Sir, I'm really grateful for this. Anytime you need me,let me know I will always be ready for any task," Richard said greedily.

He never knew everything will always be this fast. Not in his entire life did he thought that Ven would be useful for his success. He wonders his condition right now when he is getting ready to pursue his career to the peak thanks to framing Ven who he knows is more likely to be promoted faster than him if nothing happened due to his dexterity.

" It's nothing, you can be on your way," Davis said.

" Bro,we can now party and enjoy without feeling that somebody is after us," Victory said, few minutes after Richard left the office.

" Exactly, but if I'm honest that fool could never catch us. How could he be gullible as to believe all what Richard told him without confirming?" Davis asked laughing.

" He probably did that respecting work ethics not knowing he's actually welcome his death," Victory said, joining the laughter Davis already started.

" That action helped us. He definitely thought we didn't find out anything or what?" Davis asked.

" Definitely, his failure to realize we already know about him,has cost him his freedom," Victory said.

" Poor fellow! He was not even given the privilege to find out some more secrets, before we gave him a blow. That will serve as a lesson to him and others," He said.

" That's if he survives it, cheers to good life and more enjoyment!" Victory said, while they both raise their glasses of wine to their wishes.

The first meeting Ven had with Edward was recorded, but both he and Edward were not aware that Edward's attendant who is Davis man recorded it.

Then Davis didn't quite understand what it was all about until the hospital saga. When Edward collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, his attendant made sure he installed a recording device in his hospital ward as ordered by Davis, because he felt that Ven was still going to come back to ask.

Just as predicted,Ven later came to the hospital after the vaccine manual mission that was related to Henry Wright to visit Edward.

Unfortunately for both of them,it was recorded and the reason behind the death of Edward since Davis already heard him confess to Ven.

In order to prevent him from revealing his name as the mastermind behind the burning of the late Chairman Alex Brown's house,he ordered his men to go and eliminate him as fast as possible.

This they succeeded in doing though unknown to them, Edward managed to reveal the mastermind before he finally gave up the ghost.

Davis and Victory finally decided to eliminate Ven as well, but they needed to make it transparent as much as possible.

Then everything became easier, when they find out that Richard was more like an enemy to Ven. When he heard what they want him to do, he didn't even think twice before accepting it as if he knew about the plan from the onset.

That made it easier for them, and after serious deliberations they decided to frame Ven for the death of Henry Wright since they were quite aware that the Timox police force were into the case since his death.

Luckily for them, Richard did that excellently and the police force believed that since Richard already submitted evidence pointing to Ven as the culprit earlier before Ven was apprehended for the murder of Henry Wright.
