I activate my Trap Card, Defense Draw!" Yūga Hōzumi retorted without yielding an inch, flipping over a set card in his back row.
"During damage calculation on my opponent's turn: The battle damage I take from this battle becomes 0, and I draw 1 card from my Deck."
A golden shield wall appeared before Hope Ray, absorbing the attack of Valiant-Eyes Pendulum Dragon completely before transforming into a torrent that surged into Yūga Hōzumi's Duel Disk, causing the top card to eject.
Since Valiant-Eyes had an effect that banished monsters it failed to destroy by battle, Yūga Hōzumi didn't bother using the effect of his Wind God Cloud Dragon Sword to prevent the destruction.
"How can this be? It was blocked?" Yuya gulped. The attack of his ace monster, created by expending a huge amount of resources, was effortlessly blocked by Yūga Hōzumi. It was a complete waste.
"Don't lose heart, Yuya!" Aster Phoenix loudly encouraged his companion. "At least we dealt with one monster and set the ATK of all your opponent's monsters to 0, didn't we?"
"Keep going! Your dueling, the dueling of the Professor's son, can create miracles! I've believed that ever since I dueled you!" Aster Phoenix said.
"Aster..." Yuya looked back at his senior. At the same time, his father's words resurfaced in his mind, and his crumbling confidence was restored.
