# Chapter 117: Yūga Hōzumi VS Yugo
"Trap Card, Half-Damage Unbreakable, activate!"
"Target one monster on the field. This turn, the targeted monster cannot be destroyed by battle, and the battle damage you take from battles involving it is halved."
In the clash between Clear Wing and Lion Hope Ray, the former was at a disadvantage, but a bubble enveloped it, saving it from destruction.
"But you still have to take the damage, even if it's halved," Yūga Hōzumi chuckled.

"During either player's Battle Phase, if I take battle or effect damage, I can Special Summon this card from my hand." Yugo, after steadying his D-Wheel from the battle's aftershock, revealed a card from his hand.
"Appear! Tuner Monster, Speedroid OMK Gum!"
"I activate the effect of Speedroid OMK Gum! During the Battle Phase this card was Special Summoned by its own effect, I can perform a Synchro Summon using only WIND monsters on my field, including this card, as Synchro Material."
"A Synchro Summon during the opponent's turn?" Kiryu, who had been watching from the sidelines, furrowed his brow as if he had realized something.
"This isn't an Accel Synchro; it's just a monster effect that's somewhat similar." Seeing the expression on Kiryu's face, Yūga Hōzumi spoke up and waved his hand to activate his monster's effect. "I activate the effect of ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber!"
"While this card is equipped, once per turn, I can negate the effect of a monster activated on my opponent's field."
The longsword hovering beside Lion Hope Ray flashed, instantly stopping the toy-like figure that had appeared next to Clear Wing from activating a Synchro light array.
"Is he always this tough?" With his pseudo-Accel Synchro failed, Yugo turned to Yuzu. "Since you know him, can you tell me who he really is?"
"Remember what I told you about the Dimensional War? He's a warrior from the XYZ Dimension," Yuzu explained.
"Huh?" Yugo was taken aback. "So he's not an enemy?"
"I never said he was an enemy! You're the idiot who came chasing after us in a frenzy!" Yuzu couldn't help but shout.
"Hey! If you're not an enemy, why do you have information about Rin?" After being scolded by Yuzu, Yugo looked at Yūga Hōzumi and asked.
"Didn't I tell you? If you want to know, you have to beat me," Yūga Hōzumi said with a smile, then suddenly accelerated, speeding toward the farm where the Revolutionary Army base was located.
"I set one card and end my turn," Yūga Hōzumi said with a smile, ending his turn.
"Don't run! My turn! I draw!" Yugo hurriedly gave chase.
"I tune the Level 7 Clear Wing Synchro Dragon with the Level 1 Speedroid OMK Gum!" After drawing, Yugo reached out to restart the Synchro Summon that had failed last turn.
The gum-themed toy transformed into a green ring of stars, swirling with gales of wind. It settled in front of Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, who unhesitatingly spread its wings and flew inside.

"Let the holy light gather upon your wings, and with its glorious power, strike down my enemies! Synchro Summon! Level 8! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!"
Within the ring of green stars, a gentle wind gathered around Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's glass-like armor. Under the influence of the wind element, the armor's texture began to transform into glittering, iridescent crystal.
"Roar!" The evolved dragon let out a mighty roar before soaring into the sky, its dazzling crystal armor reflecting the afterglow of the setting sun.

"I activate the effect of Speedroid OMK Gum since it was sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material! I send the top card of my Deck to the Graveyard. If it's a 'Speedroid' monster, the Synchro Monster that used this card as material gains 1000 ATK," Yugo said as he flipped over the top card of his Deck.
"The top card of my Deck is Speedroid Turbo-Karuta, so Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK increases by 1000!"
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 3000 → 4000
"I activate the effect of Speedroid Turbo-Karuta in the Graveyard! By banishing this card and one 'Speedroid' monster from my Graveyard, all WIND monsters I control gain 800 ATK until the end of the turn."
"I'll banish this card and Speedroid OMK Gum from my Graveyard, increasing Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK by another 800!"
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 4000 → 4800
"Its ATK is the same as Lion Hope Ray's now," Yuzu said from her seat behind Yugo, feeling the rapidly rising aura of the magnificent dragon dancing in the wind.
"Battle! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Beast Armor Combination - Lion Hope Ray! Crystal-Wing Gale Blade!" Yugo commanded with a wave of his hand. The Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon in the air roared and swooped down toward Lion Hope Ray, a layer of wind blades slowly forming on the surface of its wings and claws.
"Huh? Is he really going to trade the ace monster he worked so hard to summon?" Yuzu watched in surprise as the dragon and the armored warrior clashed in the air.
"I activate the effect of Beast Armor Combination - Lion Hope Ray! While this card is equipped with a 'Zexal Weapon' monster card, I can target one Effect Monster on my opponent's field! That monster's effects are negated, and its ATK is halved! Lion's Aura!"
Lion Hope Ray's golden-red armor lit up, and the majestic, domineering form of a lion appeared behind it, letting out a powerful roar at the charging dragon.
"I don't think so! I activate the effect of Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon! Once per turn, when another monster's effect is activated, I can negate the activation and destroy it! Crystal Holy Light!"
As Yugo's voice fell, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon's brilliant wings burst forth with a dazzling light, shooting a rainbow-colored beam toward the lion phantom behind Lion Hope Ray.
"At this moment, I activate the effect of ZW - Pegasus Twin Saber! While this card is equipped, once per turn, I can negate the effect of a monster my opponent activates."
The pure white longsword hovering beside Lion Hope Ray flashed, intercepting the beam of light from Crystal Wing.
"Quick-Play Spell, Mystical Space Typhoon! I target one Spell or Trap on the field and destroy it!" Yugo slapped a card onto his Duel Disk.
A whirlwind surged from Crystal Wing's side, shattering the white longsword beside Lion Hope Ray.
Beast Armor Combination - Lion Hope Ray ATK: 4800 → 3800
With Pegasus Twin Saber destroyed, its effect was negated, and Lion Hope Ray was engulfed by the rainbow-colored light emitted by Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon.
"When Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon destroys a monster by its own effect, this card gains ATK equal to the original ATK of the destroyed monster until the end of this turn," Yugo stated.
Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon ATK: 4800 → 7300
"Since the number of monsters on your field changed, a battle replay occurs! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon can attack again!"
"Go! Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, declare a direct attack!"
"Interesting!" Facing the diving Crystal Wing, Yūga Hōzumi couldn't help but chuckle. "In that case, I activate my Trap Card, Xyz Reborn!"
"I target one Xyz Monster in my Graveyard! I Special Summon that monster and attach this card to it as an Xyz Material!"
"Revive, warrior of hope! Number 39: Utopia!"
