# Chapter 62: The Emotionless Dueling Machine
After a Book of Moon sent Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon—which could negate and destroy any effect the opponent activated once per turn—to the Graveyard, Yūga Hōzumi began his move.
"I activate the Continuous Spell, Onomat Select!"
"When this card is activated, its effect lets me add one 'Onomat' card other than this one from my Deck to my hand. I'll add the Spell Card, Onomatopaira!"

The demonic warrior, clad in white steel armor, leaped from the stellar vortex, fearlessly pointing its rapier forward.

"Since you have more total cards in your hand and on your field than I do, I can detach one Xyz Material from this card to destroy all other cards on the field! After this effect resolves, any damage you take for the rest of the turn becomes zero."

"And you have seven cards on your field, plus two in your hand, which is more than mine," Yūga Hōzumi said. As he spoke, the demonic warrior before him raised its rapier, and blazing flames shot into the sky.
After the flames subsided, the field was wiped clean. Only the steel-armored warrior from the Abyss stood proudly before Yūga Hōzumi.
"I activate the Spell Card, Gagagawind!"

"Appear, Onomatopia!"
"I activate the effect of Dododo Dwarf - Gogogo Glove in my Graveyard!"

"O fiend that scours the battlefield, descend and crush my enemies! Xyz Summon! Rank 4, Steelswarm Roach!"

After the black-armored fiend descended, it and the other demonic warrior stood to Yūga Hōzumi's left and right, protecting him.
Although his opponent only had two cards in hand, one of which was a revealed hand trap for survival, Yūga Hōzumi doubted he could still set up a Pendulum Summon. Still, just to be safe, Yūga Hōzumi summoned Steelswarm Roach, the perfect counter to Pendulums.
"I set two cards and end my turn," Yūga Hōzumi finished.
"My turn! I draw!" Yuya drew his card dispassionately, like an emotionless dueling machine. If this state didn't risk producing some unbeatable boss monster, Yūga Hōzumi would have actually preferred Yuya to stay this way. At least then he wouldn't constantly be trying to preach his entertainment philosophy.
"I activate the Spell Card, Pot of Riches! *I'll choose three Pendulum Monsters in total from my face-up Extra Deck and Graveyard, shuffle them into the Deck, and then draw two cards. For the rest of this turn, I cannot Special Summon monsters, except by Pendulum Summon.*"
"I'll return Performapal Monkeyboard, Performapal Draw Lizard, and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker from my face-up Extra Deck to the Deck, then draw two cards!"
"I set the Scale 3 Performapal Seal Eel and the Scale 8 Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn! With this, I can summon monsters from Level 4 to 7 at the same time!"
"I activate the Pendulum Effect of Performapal Seal Eel! Once per turn, I can target one face-up monster on my opponent's field and negate its effects until the end of the turn."
The small seal in the pillar of light behind Yuya shot a little red orb at the black-armored fiend before Yūga Hōzumi. The orb burst above the fiend's head, raining down colorful confetti. The demonic warrior's power instantly weakened, and the light circling it grew dim.
"Pendulum Summon! Appear, my monsters!"
"Level 4! Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer!"
"Level 6! Performapal Sprinklesloth!"
"Level 4! Performapal U Go Golem!"
"Level 7! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"
"I activate the effect of Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer! *Since this card was Special Summoned, I can target up to two cards I control, destroy them, and then add the same number of 'Performapal' monsters with different names from my Deck to my hand!*"
"I'll destroy Performapal Seal Eel in my Pendulum Zone and Performapal U Go Golem on the field!"

After the orange giraffe appeared, it swung its neck toward the other, white-armored demonic warrior in front of Yūga Hōzumi. A long chain shot through the air, binding it tightly.
"I activate the Pendulum Effect of Performapal Flip Frog! *Once per turn, I can target one face-up monster on the field and swap its ATK and DEF until the end of the turn.*"
The small frog in the pillar of light behind Yuya emitted a green glow that shone upon the bound demonic warrior.
