"Mr. Yajima, what do you think?"
"Hmm... good luck."
"I mean, both sides are using Lightning Magic. Which side do you think will win?"
The magic used by Laxus and Oroga wasn't much of a secret, and the three commentators all knew about it.
Yajima especially knew that Laxus used Dragon Slayer Magic, while Oroga used Godslayer Magic.
However, he still refrained from giving a definitive answer about the match's outcome, like a slightly confused old man, he repeated, "Both should do their best."
Jason: "COOOOOL!!!"
The contestants were in position, and the Pumpkin Man started the match as usual and ran off.
"Laxus, huh? You've met the worst opponent." Oroga said harshly before launching an attack, "120mm Black Thunder Cannon!"
Oroga thrust his hands forward in a claw shape, sending black currents shooting toward Laxus like a laser.
The speed of lightning is incredibly fast, and ordinary people can't dodge this move at all.
However, Laxus had already left his original spot, appearing above Oroga with his body enveloped in golden currents. He twisted his body and punched downward.
With a bang, Oroga fell forward, embedding into the ground.
Laxus landed lightly, his feet positioned around Oroga, and the hem of his coat slowly stopped moving as it fell.
The audience's cheers, once filled with a lingering echo, came to an abrupt halt at this moment.
No one expected this kind of result.
Weren't they supposed to be evenly matched powerful Lightning Mages?
Wasn't a Godslayer supposed to be unaffected by Dragon Slayer's lightning?
Where was the exciting battle everyone talked about?
"What a joke!" Rufus from Sabertooth stared wide-eyed at his fallen comrade, "What are you doing, Oroga! Lightning is supposed to be ineffective against you, right?!"
Oroga's fingers twitched, and he struggled to prop his upper body up with his hand, with blood still at the corner of his mouth: "Lightning, of course..."
Laxus looked down at him. Lightning seems ineffective, or else Oroga should already be unable to move.
However...
Oroga suddenly sprung up, his right fist coated with black electrical arcs aimed for Laxus's chin as he shouted the rest of his sentence fiercely: "...is ineffective against me!"
Yet his punch still missed, and Laxus dodged aside and punched Oroga in the stomach, making his entire body bend in.
With the force of Laxus's fist, Oroga flew backward with a puff, crossing the vast arena and crashing into the wall specially thickened yesterday.
The dust in the corner quickly dissipated, revealing Oroga embedded in the wall, limbs and head drooping, clearly unconscious.
"Fairy Tail B Team's Laxus wins!" the Pumpkin Man announced the result stammeringly.
This year's Fairy Tail was stronger than he could have imagined.
Laxus withdrew his fist, pulled at his collar, and said with a sullen face, "Indeed a terrible opponent, talks too much."
On the stands, Lucy muttered, "He only said two sentences, though?"
"Hahaha... Laxus, that guy, is as scary as ever." Kana was delighted to see someone else get knocked out as quickly as she used to be when she was little.
But as she laughed, she pulled out a bottle and glugged down some more...
Erza smiled, "To be precise, he's even stronger than before."
But suddenly, Erza couldn't smile anymore—how was Team A supposed to win against such a strong Team B?
The Thunder God Tribe cheered joyously, "Laxus, you're amazing!"
"Great job, Laxus! That's the way!" Makarov seemed as excited as a child, cheering loudly while carrying Asuka.
Reby laughed from the side, "That's great, President."
Most of their companions understood Reby's intent and smiled knowingly, then joined in clapping and cheering too.
Makarov felt a bit awkward, "I'm only happy because of the points the guild is earning!"
"We're happy for the same reason!"
When Laxus returned to his teammates, Rhode and Gajeel raised their thumbs in approval.
Jubia had gone to the medical room to see Gray, and since Laxus finished too quickly, she hadn't returned yet.
Wendy sincerely praised, "You're amazing, Mr. Laxus."
Laxus smiled, "The opponent was a bit weak."
Fairy Tail's participants and audience all shared an atmosphere of joyful camaraderie.
Sabertooth, however, was under a gloomy cloud.
Because with today's event including the battles, they hadn't earned any points.
How did the strongest guild fall into such a state?
President Jerman simply sat there, his face unreadable, creating a low-pressure atmosphere where guild members didn't dare make a sound.
The unconscious Oroga wasn't even carried away by Sabertooth's members, but by the event's organizers.
However, their reaction didn't hinder the match progression, as the third match was about to start.
"Blue Pegasus's Ive against Rays of the Rising Sun's Karg!"
These two were quite famous, being quite handsome.
One was more youthful, the other was more introverted.
After the referee signaled the start, the two courteously greeted each other before beginning their battle.
Karg immediately used Requip Magic.
His Requip Magic was rather unique—when he spread his right hand, a dozen luxurious magic wands flashed through his palm, eventually settling into a green-stemmed, red-topped wand.
Upon closer inspection, it was clearly shaped like a rose.
"Using the Rose Wand right from the start." Ive seemed to recognize the opponent's magic, "White Whirlwind!"
A massive flurry of snowflakes was conjured from thin air, forming a snow tornado which surged toward Karg.
Karg waved his wand: "Rose Petal Rain."
Countless rose petals shot from the wand's tip, appearing light and floaty.
Yet as they entered the tornado, they blended in, turning the white whirlwind red.
Ive immediately lost control of his spell, helplessly watching as the tornado suddenly burst, transforming into countless petals, gracefully descending from the sky.
Karg's blue mage robe, adorned with golden and red embroidery along the cuffs and hem, and his long golden hair danced in the wind.
For a brief moment, the empty arena became a scene of stunning beauty, drawing shrill screams from many young girls over his magic.
"How beautiful!" Even Wendy and Jubia praised.
Rhode, watching the scene, said regretfully, "In hindsight, I should have invited him to perform at my and Mira's wedding. Hey... you should consider it for your weddings in the future."
Laxus and Gajeel didn't engage in the conversation, but Jubia nodded enthusiastically.
Blushing, Wendy stammered, "I-I don't have anyone I like yet..."
Jubia was no surprise, but did Wendy really consider it seriously?
This child was too adorable.
Rhode ruffled Wendy's hair, contemplating whether to invite her to stay at his house during Mira's due date to help with the delivery.
Today's thoughts seemed to drift constantly toward Mira.
