Chapter 595 - Chapter 135: Moon, Lucy_2

"Well..." Mercer said absentmindedly, "Actually, my room is quite big..."

"Go to hell, jerk!" V punched him fiercely, Mercer looked at his shoulder with a tinge of pain, almost feeling like she'd made a dent: "Damn, take it easy!"

"You're really confident, not to mention Lucy, won't Rebecca's temper make your head swell?" V deliberately raised her voice.

Rebecca's voice didn't sound immediately. V turned to look, Rebecca was humming a tune in the kitchen, busy heating food for Mercer, seemingly not hearing a word of what she said — but how could that be possible?

Mercer smiled, nudging her with his elbow: "Don't say things that affect our relationship!"

"You're amazing!" V truly admired him, gave a thumbs up, rolled her eyes, looked at Rebecca, then at Mercer, rising with a face full of doubt: "Is this for real?"

"We're all a family~ just bear with it, life goes on all the same? Alas, it's all my fault, such a good man and there's only one." Mercer joked with a smile.

"Damn it! Did you really mess her up these past nights?" V said, incredulous.

This time Rebecca's voice rang out: "You really need a beating, woman! Mercer! Help me teach her a lesson!"

The group laughed and made some jokes but tacitly skipped over this topic, V walked back into the room looking bewildered, leaving only Mercer and Rebecca in the living room.

Mercer washed his hands and face, then sat at the dining table. When Rebecca brought the dishes over, she naturally sat beside him, cheerfully helping him with the food and chatting with him.

Once back in the room, Rebecca dropped her pretense, and like a hungry tiger, pounced on Mercer, not speaking a word but directly opening a game first.

After a round, Rebecca, softened like a ball of cotton, curled up in Mercer's arms, squinting her eyes contentedly, catching her breath: "I'll spare you today, one game is enough."

"Heh, alright."

Mercer's tone made her open her eyes in dissatisfaction but quickly she sweetly revealed a gentle smile: "Ah~ It's not good to stay up so late every day; you still have to work tomorrow~"

Mercer laughed holding her, but did not expose her pretend behavior, just quietly asked: "Why don't you take a bath, I'll go for a walk."

"Carry me there." Rebecca didn't ask what 'walk' meant, but simply coquettishly insisted he carry her.

After washing up, she wrapped herself in the quilt, asked for two kisses, and then urged him to leave, closing her eyes to sleep.

Meanwhile, Mercer changed into simple pajamas and walked out the door, heading to Lucy's room.

He knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside, so Mercer directly pushed the door open.

Lucy lay on the bed, wearing a Super Dream Headband — Mercer glanced at the opened packaging box beside it, it was the new Moon Super Dream, more realistic and with more content than the previous version.

Mercer thought for a moment, then sneakily lay next to her, linking himself into the Super Dream too.

Even when alone, she used the two-person Super Dream Device that could connect, Mercer felt this meant a lot.

The familiar yet unfamiliar Moon scene appeared before him, Mercer looked at the empty surroundings, casually found a lunar rover, and drove to a location that he and Lucy often visited.

It was a relatively flat slope, discovered by the two of them, the best viewpoint for watching Earth.

Sure enough, Lucy was sitting there, staring into the distance at Earth.

"Do you think if we actually went to the Moon, we could find this place too?"

Mercer's voice sounded, Lucy instinctively turned her head, her eyes somewhat surprised but soon becoming rather indifferent, refocusing her gaze: "Probably, since the data for Super Dream was recorded from real locations."

"Except if it were the real Moon, we'd have to wear thick spacesuits, carry heavy oxygen tanks and masks... That would be a hassle."

Mercer sat next to her, talking aimlessly as he rested large and casually against the ground, looking at Earth.

On the azure planet, swirling clouds slowly shifted, and the two had countless times searched for traces of Night City on Earth, comparing and wondering about their true bodies' positions on that distant planet.

"Maybe." Lucy didn't say much.

Mercer turned to look at Lucy, whose short hair framed her refined yet strikingly beautiful face.

"What's new in the Super Dream?" He continued to create conversation.

"Some new space beverages, foods, a new set of buildings to explore, and small planes for racing around the Moon. Reportedly, the next major update will introduce manned rockets and escape pods for users to experience."

Lucy said, pausing momentarily: "I've tried them all, nothing exciting, feels like it wasted quite a bit of money."

Mercer looked at her smilingly: "Why don't we switch to another one?"

"I didn't buy any other Super Dreams, not interesting." Lucy said, just gazing at Earth in a daze, leaving Mercer with her profile.

Mercer moved closer to look at her, she then slightly turned away, rolling her eyes at his approaching face: "What? Did Rebecca drain you, and now you've come here to rest?"

"Please, her?" Mercer chuckled twice: "Her small arms and legs aren't as tough as you imagine."

"Really?" Lucy actually didn't want to hear this, her mood worsened a bit, she turned away: "Lately I've been thinking... about moving to Adcardo for a while."

"If you want, go ahead, the vaccine has reached the drug administration's review stage, and the data effectiveness of internal trials has basically been confirmed to meet standards."
