Chapter 274 - Chapter 75: Father's Commission_4

"Did you arrange a meeting with him?" Mercer asked.

"Yeah, he mentioned he needed a little help and wanted to ask me, but we're about to do something big, so I can't just agree easily. I'll take you with me; if you think it's suitable, we'll go. If not, I'll decline."

After V finished speaking, she paused and looked at him seriously, "Let's handle our most important business first. Don't go soft-hearted or worry about doing me a favor."

"Alright, meeting with him is also pretty good. Right now, the Valentino Gang and the Sixth Street Gang are fighting fiercely. Maybe we can talk to them and see if we can sell them a batch of weapons."

Mercer, his mind active, said, "Our store is honestly just for show, for display. The real big clients, we need to find them in Night City."

"Do you have things to sell now?" V looked at him somewhat doubtfully, "How much time has actually passed?"

"I do. I discussed with Pira a design for a marketable pistol during my free time, emphasizing durability and low cost. With a 3D printer, you can print the basic components.

The cost is less than 200 Euros, not much more than those disposable pistols you get from street 3D printers, but it's reusable.

Although the durability isn't great, I'm only planning to sell it for 500 Euros. For 500 Euros, you can get a pistol that can fire fully automatic, with a magazine of seventeen 9mm bullets. Where else would you find such a good deal?

And you can add an optional drum magazine. A drum magazine can hold 40 rounds of 9mm bullets; although due to material limitations, it can only shoot 10 rounds per second, but look at this cost-performance... isn't it good?"

After Mercer finished, he added, "I'm planning to name this gun 'Glock Simple Slaughter.' In the future, all 3D-printed weapons made of plastic mixed with metal will be named under the 'Simple Slaughter' series."

"There will also be upgraded versions of the same type of gun in the future. One replaces more metal parts, making it more durable, solid, and reliable 'Glock Metal' series. The other will have an installed smart weapon system as the 'Slaughterhouse' series."

After listening, V said with interest, "Get me a sample to try out. I'll know exactly how good it is after using it, won't I?"

"Pira and I made a prototype. We tried it and left it there. You can take it when you go back and try it out. It's essentially a superior alternative to the 3D-printed weapons from 'Affordable Firepower' company."

After Mercer spoke, V eagerly said she should definitely go back and try it out. But after saying that, she seemed to remember something and couldn't help but chuckle, looking at him with a somewhat embarrassed expression.

"... I get it. Give me your pistol, and I'll upgrade it for you in the next couple of days."

As soon as Mercer finished, V happily put her arm around his neck, "I knew you wouldn't forget me! Go ahead, make it powerful!"

"Alright, alright. I promise to make you a hand cannon," Mercer rolled his eyes while grabbing her hand to move her arm away—she charged at him like a human cyclone without holding back.

V giggled, eagerly seating herself in the driver's seat of the Jun Mizutani sports car Mercer drove out. Once Mercer was settled, she drove straight to the streets of Haywood.

...

When the stylishly modified Jun Mizutani stopped outside the Wild Wolf Bar, it drew quite a bit of attention.

For most street kids, even after modifications, the Jun Mizutani, which is worth around 200,000 to 300,000 Euros, is already their 'dream car' that they can only long for but cannot attain.

V, feeling rather pleased, pushed open the car door, slightly tilted her chin, and revealed the gold-plated chain on her neck she didn't know when she bought, strutting towards the Wild Wolf Bar.

After Mercer got out of the car, seeing her smug demeanor, he suddenly realized—this girl deliberately served as a driver to show off this time...

Damn, he thought she was trying to suck up a little to him for modifying her gun!

Even an Intelligence of 6 has grown...

Mercer thought to himself sarcastically, and walked into the bar with her.

The two pushed open the door to the Wild Wolf Bar, and stepping inside, the place was about half full. V looked around, "Not bad, huh?"

"Not bad. It's a cozy little tavern," Mercer said.

"Let me treat you to some fries. Last time I had them, they were pretty good—salty, savory, with a bit of spice. Really nice," V said proudly as she pulled him to sit at the bar, boasting about picking up the tab.

Mercer, curious, asked, "Do they serve food here? What's on the menu?"

The approaching bartender smiled at Mercer, "We serve mostly Mexican food – generally spicy, in small portions, mostly as bar snacks."

"I'll have a beef taco... oh, it's a beef-flavored bug meat taco," Mercer said, recoiling, "And a small Coke."

V teased, "Why do you come to a bar and order Coke all the time? Be a man, have a couple of drinks with me."

"A hacker needs a clear and calm mind, you know?" Mercer wiggled his finger, "And drinking too much affects intelligence."

"Screw you! One day, you'll push me too far," V said, shaking her fist while flipping her white hair, "One 'Rabbit God,' with ice."

After she said this, V asked the bartender, "Where's Jack? He asked me to come over, but I haven't seen him."

"He took two hits on his arm, didn't cover them up well, and now he's getting an earful from his mom. See, over there, the owner of the bar, Jack's mom, Guadalupe Alahandra Wells.

You can just call her Mrs. Wells. That's what everyone around here calls her."
