Chapter 477 - Chapter 435: "Escape" Is Not in My Dictionary

"You are unwilling to just accept defeat."

"I thought that by eliminating half of life, the other half could prosper."

"But you proved to me that it is impossible."

"As long as one person still clings to their past, the future will never be acknowledged and accepted."

"Those stubborn resistances are inevitable!"

"For that, I thank you."

"I will use the Infinity Gemstones you helped me find to create a new universe, where life will have no resentment towards loss, only gratitude for what is given..."

Thanos sat alone on the rock, watching the three giants of the First Generation Avengers walking towards him. As he spoke, he stood up, donned his helmet, and then pulled out the double-edged battle blade made of Uru metal, which looked very much like a propeller, before looking back at the crowd.

"A universe filled with gratitude."

"A universe filled with blood."

"They will never know because you won't live to see that time."

Thanos stared at Captain America.

And then—

The spark of battle was ignited in an instant.

Thor roared, his eyes and body filled with the power of thunder, wielding the Storm Battleaxe as he leaped up.

Iron Man also instantly soared into the air.

Captain America instantly halted.

In just the blink of an eye, the three were already fighting Thanos.

This scene.

It reminded Hawk, who was breaking through the atmosphere, of a phrase.

Three heroes battling Lu Bu!

But Hawk, who broke through the atmosphere, did not head to the battlefield. Instead, in the next second after entering the atmosphere, he reappeared at the doorstep of Palm Street No. 521A.

His sister Anya was already clad in leather, the tactical belt adorned with weapons was strapped around her waist.

Anya, about to run to The Avengers base to lend a hand, happened to bump into Hawk directly.

Hawk looked at his fully armed sister, raising an eyebrow.

Anya, too, was startled, and with a click, quickly and skillfully unbuckled the tactical belt, hiding it behind her back, looked at Hawk, her face showing a look of surprise and joy.

"Brother!"

"You're not allowed to go."

Hawk, facing Anya's smile, ignored her little act of hiding things and smiled slightly, directly shutting down anything Anya might want to say next.

Anya's smile froze.

"Why, Captain America and the others brought back the half that disappeared."

"Yes."

Hawk glanced at Palm Street, seeing the somewhat bewildered citizens emerging from various houses, nodded to Anya: "They succeeded, so what next?"

Anya pointed to the enormous spaceship 'Sanctuary II' belonging to Thanos hovering above New York City: "We should go help them."

Hawk, seemingly thoughtful, glanced at Anya and then chuckled: "You, help? With your small frame, you'd kneel before a Chitauri leader."

Anya rolled her eyes.

"I was once a Hydra Agent, and an elite one at that."

"That was then, this is now."

Hawk's tone was calm: "Today's battlefield is not one for you to participate in, go back."

Anya put on a serious face.

"I want to help."

"What?"

"I said, I want to help."

"Heh."

Hawk laughed.

Just as he was about to speak, a gust of wind howled.

Hawk turned his head to look.

And saw.

Bruce Hulk Banner, who had joined the battlefield, was currently hurling a Chitauri soldier like a cannonball towards their front door.

Anya watched as the quickly approaching Chitauri comet sped toward her, her pupils shrinking.

"Damn it!"

"Not again!"

Hawk watched as this Chitauri soldier, like a meteor, came crashing towards him and his sister Anya. His mind couldn't help but flash back to 2008 when he was kneeling powerlessly beside his sister's corpse, tears streaming, and in an instant, his eyes fierce, he unleashed two Phoenix Beams.

Boom!

The whistling Chitauri comet exploded in mid-air above the Palm Street Community.

Hawk then came back to his senses, looking at his wide-eyed sister Anya: "See, the battlefield is blind; let's go home, be good."

When Anya came to her senses, she was already being dragged home by Hawk.

Click.

Anya watched as Hawk instantly locked the door from inside after they entered the house.

"I may not be able to help them, but you can help them."

"And then?"

After locking the door, Hawk walked toward the bar in the room, found a bottle of bourbon and a glass, seemingly planning to have a drink.

Anya trotted to the bar.

"Are you going to help them?"

"Do you want the truth?"

Hawk clutched the bottle, looking at his sister who gazed at him with anticipation.

Anya nodded without hesitation.

"Of course."

"I'm considering it."

Hawk said honestly.

From a certain perspective, the Thanos of this universe was considered his killer.

Every time Hawk recalls Thanos squeezing his neck while retrieving the Mind Gemstone from his forehead, he feels an aching pain in his own forehead.

But...

Just when he broke through the atmosphere, ready to seek 'his own' revenge, a prying gaze was captured by him.

Clearly.

The moment he exposed himself to this cosmos, the Celestial God Griss, whom he had fought back to this cosmos to report to its parents, also noticed his presence.

Yet Hawk's Seventh Sense swept across the entire Milky Way Galaxy without finding any trace of Celestial God Griss.

Right now he's in the light.

Celestial God Griss is in the dark.

In one word.

Hawk never fights unprepared battles.

He did not hide it from his sister; however, after expressing his considerations, Anya's face visibly changed in front of him.

From an initial gaze of adoration towards an almighty brother, to doubtful questioning of the brother's reasoning, finally transforming into an expression of seeing through everything.

Hawk watched the change in Anya's expression, feeling a stir in his heart.

"What's wrong?"

"Brother."

"Hmm."

"You're not considering this because of the so-called Celestial God Griss, at least not primarily because of it."

"Then tell me why I'm considering it?"

"Wanda!"

"..."

Hawk paused his drinking motion slightly.

With arms crossed, Anya spoke with certainty as she watched Hawk's drinking motion come to a halt: "You're thinking about what you should say if you go and see Wanda, aren't you?"

Upon hearing this, Hawk locked eyes with Anya, who was gazing at him, then chuckled, putting his glass aside, pulled out a napkin, wiped his mouth, his lips carrying a subtle smile as he looked at his sister Anya in front of him: "When I was young, I wished for two sisters, one gentle and beautiful, the other smart and witty. It's wonderful, my dream came true."

Anya smiled and spread her hands.

"Then I must be the smart and witty one."

"Exactly."

Hawk nodded: "So, my smart and witty sister, since you guessed, advise me then."

Anya's expression turned serious.

"If it were me, I would go."

"And then..."

"What then?"

Anya blinked, looking at Hawk in confusion: "What does this cosmos Hawk's matter have to do with you, a visitor from the Multiverse?"

Hawk's expression first froze, then looking at Anya, a radiant smile appeared on his face.

Anya smiled even more.

Next moment.

Just as she was about to speak, to ask for a reward for her plotting wisdom from her brother.

Bang!

Anya exclaimed in pain, instinctively covering her forehead with her hands, looking at her brother who had flicked her forehead in despair.

"Hey, I was supposed to provide advice."

"Yes, you can give me advice, brother is happy, but the suggestion you gave me, brother doesn't like it at all."

"Why not?"

"Because in your brother's dictionary, there's every word, but no escaping."

Hawk downed the last bit of bourbon from the glass beside him, then adjusted his cuffs, finishing his words, looking at Anya: "Stay home, tidy up the house, and wait for me to return. I'm still alive; it's not the point where my sister needs to step in yet."

With that.

Hawk lifted his gaze.

Boom!

Anya instinctively closed her eyes, listening to the jingling sounds beside her, and upon opening her eyes, looked at the bar counter in front of her that seemed as if a tornado had swept through, opening her mouth, feeling like crying, yet wanting to laugh.

Because she was quite certain, her brother did it on purpose, deliberately giving her a task to prevent her from running off to lend a hand over there.

"Wait."

"Brother probably doesn't want me to see his meeting scene with Wanda, right?"

Anya's thoughts spun, her eyes turned, and in a swoosh, she ran upstairs, arriving at the attic, directly pulling out a military box that had been there for an unknown duration, kicked it open, and subsequently pulled out a military-grade drone.

Meanwhile.

Over at the Avengers base, reduced to a battlefield, the fight was still in a stalemate.

Originally, Thanos had taken the Avengers by surprise but failed to seize the opportunity for a swift strike. With revived superheroes joining the battle with the assistance of Doctor Strange's multidirectional teleportation gates and the support of the Wakanda soldiers, the battle didn't conclude but intensified instead.

Thanos sneered as he looked at the superheroes and Wakanda soldiers pouring through the teleportation gates, and gripping his double-edged battle blade, prepared to continue his attack.

Next moment.

Boom!

The sudden emergence of Crimson Chaos Power, closely followed by the revived and rampaging Wanda.

Wanda's eyes were filled with Crimson Chaos Power, gazing at the fully armed Thanos before her.

"You took everything I love!"

"Who are you?"

Thanos sensed the rampaging energy within Wanda, then looked at Wanda descending from the sky, instinctively chimed.

God bears witness.

He came from 2012, designated earlier to invade Earth with the Chitauri and Loki.

And in the future he saw, the scene where Thanos was beheaded, Wanda was never present.

So…

Thanos, watching the aggressive Wanda with a look as if he had killed her husband, couldn't help but utter.

"I don't even know who the hell you are."

"You'll understand..."

"And me?"

"..."
