Chapter 3 - 03. Female Ghosts In The Dragon Queen’s Castle.

"Your Majesty!! You've returned!" The first female ghost exclaimed as she hurried over to Vivian while the second hovered behind her, excited about seeing Vivian after such a long time.

"It's you!! It's really you!!" The second ghost said excitedly as well.

Their names were Sara and Cara. They were both twins, and were identical in appearance and height.

They also wore beautiful white dresses that blended seamlessly with their milky white skin and snow-white hair.

Their glowing blue eyes made them look even more dazzling as they rushed over to their queen, ignoring the fact that they were supposed to be acting like a queen's dignified maid.

But Vivian didn't mind.

After all, Sara and Cara were close enough to be called friends, and she understood how much they must have missed her, so she opened her arms wide to welcome both sisters into her embrace.

"I've missed you so much, Your Majesty."

"It's been two decades since you left and everything has been lonely without you here in the castle."

Both ladies hugged Vivian and buried their heads in her neck, almost as though they were expecting her to pat their heads, and that was exactly what Vivian did as she smiled indulgently while stroking their hair.

"I've missed you both as well."

Her words filled the sisters with happiness and they buried their heads even more.

Although Sara and Cara were ghosts, that wasn't everything about them, because they were also banshees, and that meant they could solidify their bodies at will, making it easy for Vivian to hug them.

Feeling satisfied, the two ladies slowly pulled their heads back from Vivian's embrace. But just as they were about to ask their Queen how her holiday had been over the past two decades, they suddenly paused and turned their heads toward the carriage after seeing Lily and Aster stepping out of the carriage.

"Your Majesty?"

"Are those two your…?"

"Yep, they're my babies," Vivian said proudly as she puffed her marvelous chest out, emphasizing how proud she was about her two beautiful children.

"What?!!" Sara and Cara exclaimed in surprise and hurriedly rushed over to Lily, whose cuteness was so much that they couldn't help but take note of it.

Their slender human legs swiftly turned back into a ghost tail as they slithered and rushed forward to circle around the adorable five-year-old girl, before gushing over her in complete admiration for her cuteness.

"Oh my goodness, she's so cute and beautiful. I love her."

"I know, right? Her cheeks are so soft and chubby too."

"Hehehe…stop it, that tickles." Little Lily giggled as the two sisters circled around her, playing with her soft cheeks and fuzzy ears.

Since she was so young and innocent, the little girl didn't feel an ounce of fear despite being in the presence of two of the most terrifying spirits in the realm.

If Sara and Cara's enemies were to see them right now, their jaws would probably drop and their eyes would bulge out of their sockets in disbelief at what they were seeing.

After all, these two sisters were currently the strongest spirit familiars in the realm, along with a certain female jack-o'-lantern spirit who was currently getting down from the box seat.

Meanwhile, Aster didn't share the same enthusiasm about the two ghosts as Lily.

After all, these two were ghosts and he could see how the twins gently phased in and out of existence from time to time while playing with Lily.

Their bodies occasionally turned transparent and that was enough for Aster to realise that these ladies weren't humans but ghosts.

Besides, there was no way he could miss their ghost tails which had completely replaced their legs.

Coming to this conclusion, Aster took a step back and Sara couldn't help but notice him then.

Her bright blue eyes shimmered with mischief, as a charming yet slightly terrifying smile spread across her lips while she floated towards Aster, causing goosebumps to spread across his skin.

Watching her approach, Aster tried to take another step back but he stopped when Sara suddenly vanished before his eyes.

'Huh?'

It felt like she had turned invisible, so he tried looking around for any sign of her, but he suddenly felt a cold and freezing chill in his spine which made his body turn numb, then he felt a cold pair of hands hugging him from behind.

"Oh young master, why do you look so troubled?" Her soft, charming voice sounded soothing and deadly at the same time as Aster's entire body became frozen by Sara.

And there was nothing he could do about it.

He was completely powerless in the presence of the stunning female ghost behind him, leaving him with no choice but to listen to what Sara was saying.

"You're the Queen's son, aren't you?"

"So there's nothing to be afraid of in this castle."

"After all, Cara and I would do anything to protect…?" Sara paused mid-sentence when she noticed something odd about the dragon prince.

"Ara? Young master, you smell so good. In fact, you almost smell like a…"

"Sara....?" Vivian suddenly appeared behind Sara, causing the banshee to shriek in surprise.

Then she removed her arms from around Aster when she realized what she had just been about to say.

So Sara vanished and reappeared in front of him, with a deep bow of regret.

"Forgive me, Your Highness, for almost comparing you to a weak race. I should have suspected your dragon abilities were yet to be awakened."

Hearing this, Aster's brows became furrowed as he wondered what Sara meant, but Vivian's words instantly drew his attention toward her.

"Sara? Cara? I believe my babies are hungry and would like to eat something."

Sara and Cara exchanged glances and a knowing smile appeared on their lips as they bowed respectfully. "As you wish, Your Majesty. Breakfast will be ready in five minutes." They said simultaneously before vanishing into the castle.

Seeing that they were gone, Vivian sighed softly with a smile on her face, and then she gently placed her arms on Aster's shoulders before saying. "Alright dear, it's time for us to go in."
