Now sitting in the hall, one elder said, "Brothers, we need to choose a new leader for our clan until our previous leader returns." All the other elders nodded in agreement. He continued, "I nominate Lu Liang as the new leader," pointing to a man with sharp features and fox-like eyes. Next to him sat Lu Zhang, Lu Xiaoran's cousin and his son. Most of the elders agreed to the nomination, though some disagreed. In the end, Lu Liang won. Standing in the center of the meeting, he said, "Dear elders and juniors, since you've chosen me as the new leader, I believe we should also appoint a new young master for our family. As you know, Lu Xiaoran tragically died in an accident. Therefore, I appoint Lu Zhang as the new young master of our family."
Just then, a family guard rushed into the meeting room. In a hurried voice, he said, "Elders! There's a meteorite in the sky, heading straight for the city." Some elders were confused, but a few took him seriously. As they left the meeting hall and looked up, they saw a blazing meteor moving towards the city. Fear spread among the crowd, as the meteor could potentially wipe out a large portion of the population if it struck. One elder exclaimed, "What are those fools in the meteorological department doing? Can't they send a warning to the city for evacuation?"
Another elder added, "What is the city lord doing with his cultivation of Nascent Soul? He should at least try to divert the meteorite's path." While the elders discussed, they saw multiple energy attacks targeting the meteorite. Like other cities, Azure Mountain City had orbital cannons for protection, as threats could come from any direction in this post-apocalyptic world. When the attacks struck the meteorite, it exploded, leaving only a cloud of dust in the sky. The elders breathed a sigh of relief.
Safe from danger, Lu Liang said, "Elders, we will review the report on the meteorite, but first, we should continue the meeting." As he spoke, a loud crash echoed, and something slammed into the lawn in front of them. The explosion created a shockwave, knocking most of the family guards off their feet, but the elders and Lu Liang managed to stay upright due to their cultivation. When they looked at the object, they saw a tank that appeared to be an old model used before the catastrophe.
The top hatch of the tank opened, causing everyone to tense up and prepare for the unknown. A figure in an old-era spacesuit emerged, followed by another person in the same suit, and finally, a cat in a spacesuit. The first man held a flag that featured a picture of a black cat playing with a ball, leaving the elders perplexed about its meaning.
As the three awkwardly jumped out of the tank, clearly affected by low gravity, Lu Liang, in a tense state, asked, "Who are you?" Every elder readied themselves for any situation. The man stepped closer and said, "Hi, my name is Vik Headstrong." He then pointed to the other person. "This is my co-pilot, Luri Xiaring." Lastly, he pointed at the cat in the spacesuit, saying, "This is our cat, Pushpa."
Raising his flag, he declared, "We come from another world, from the nation of Catopia. We arrived here through our Catpollo 11 aircraft. We wish to find and establish relations between our worlds."
Most elders looked confused, but Lu Liang maintained his composure. "My friends, I don't know where you came from, but this is Lu family estate, and you should leave while we're still being nice."
Vik sighed at Lu Liang's words. He had hoped to act out a scenario that didn't involve fighting, but it seemed his entrance was not well-received. "Master, can we take off these suits? This is a bit embarrassing," Lu Xiaoran said. Vik instructed him to keep the suit on. He didn't want them to reveal their faces after the chaos they had caused in the city.
"Host, I told you that you should have defeated them and taken Lu Zhang with you, but you insisted on this acting while calling yourself Vik Headstrong. Do you really want to be an astronaut that much?"
"System, we'll talk about this another day, but please don't disturb me now," Vik replied. Facing Lu Liang again, he noticed a hint of malice in his eyes, likely due to the flower garden he had destroyed during their landing. Not wanting to waste time, he said, "If you don't want to talk, let's get to the main topic. Who is Lu Zhang?"
Hearing this, all the elders looked at a man who resembled Lu Liang. Vik instantly recognized him as Lu Zhang. Lu Liang stepped in front of Vik to block his path, but Vik ignored him, easily moving him aside and grabbing Lu Zhang. As he returned to the tank, many elders tried to stop him, but he unleashed his aura, rendering them immobile.
Back inside the tank with Lu Zhang, Lu Xiaoran, and Pushpa, Vik drove off elegantly. Once on city roads, he made the tank invisible. As they neared society, he transformed the tank into a pickup truck with several unconscious people in the back. They arrived at society, where Vik spotted Old Man Zhou and Jessica talking to Roman. Upon seeing them, the two approached. Vik stopped the truck, and as he exited with Pushpa in his arms, Lu Xiaoran climbed out from the other side. Jessica quickly took hold of Lu Xiaoran's hand and said with shining eyes, "Lu Sheng, thank you! Everyone told me how you saved them from thugs. You don't know how many lives you've saved."
The two lovebirds wasted no time in flirting, so Vik left Lu Xiaoran to enjoy his time with his new girlfriend. Roman approached, bowed, and Vik nodded in acknowledgment. Old Man Zhou then reached him and said, "I believed you would do something like this, but I still thank you, Master Vik." Zhou bowed, but Vik interrupted him, saying, "Elders shouldn't bow to juniors. By the way, do you have a place to keep some hostages and interrogate them? We have some thugs that need to be dealt with." He pointed to the backseat of the truck where the unconscious thugs lay. Zhou smiled and replied, "This society has an old warehouse that's empty. I will show you the way."
Vik ordered Roman to take two thugs with him while he carried two others, leaving Lu Xiaoran occupied with his girlfriend.
In a high-rise building, a luxurious penthouse stood at the top, adorned with gold and seeming royal, yet the atmosphere felt dark. Despite it being afternoon, the surroundings appeared as dark as night. Inside, dozens of creatures resembled those from horror movies. Sitting on a golden throne, surrounded by armored undead warriors, was a woman of unparalleled beauty. If Vik were present, he would recognize her as Louriel, the lady who had summoned him.
In front of her stood a skeleton in dark robes. Facing him, she said, "Winston, I hope you have found my beast."
"Yes, my liege. I found him in this city. He even caused havoc here earlier this morning." He showed her footage of a tank being chased by police cars, though the driver's face wasn't visible. Still, Louriel could sense who was behind the wheel. With a smile, she said, "Interesting. I didn't know my beast had such destructive tendencies. Since he is mine, I will take full responsibility. Tell the police to close this case and mislead their investigation."
After bowing to her, Winston vanished into the shadows as she continued to watch the video. "My cute little snake, you are getting too naughty. First running away, now creating chaos in the city. I think I need to discipline you," she said, as nearby skeletons shivered, fearing her voice. Unbeknownst to Vik, a new threat was now after him.
