Both of them nodded after I spoke. I instructed them to leave the Anonymous hall, and we all walked toward the giant tree in front. I usually sleep there. When I arrived, I saw the beast egg lying in the shade, leaning against the trunk.
Seeing the egg, Lu Xiaoran asked, "Master, what is this egg?"
I replied, "Our new member, Lu Xiaoran."
With that, I focused on hatching the egg. Unfortunately, I didn't know much about egg hatching, so I asked the system for help.
Vik: "System, can you explain how to hatch this egg?"
System: "Yes, host. This egg is a system reward, so it is different from a normal egg. This egg acts as a summoning platform, allowing you to summon any type of beast through it."
Vik: "So, system, this egg is like a mystery box? I could get anything, good or bad?"
System: "No, it's not like a mystery box. A mystery box gives random rewards, but this beast egg is different. You decide what type and how strong the beast should be."
Vik: "How do I do that?"
System: "It's simple. You just need to feed it your spiritual energy. The higher the concentration, the stronger the beast you can get. If you want a beast of a specific element, provide energy from that element. For example, if you want a fire dragon, feed it a lot of fire element energy."
After hearing the system, I understood how it worked. I thought about the type of beast I wanted. After some time, I decided and said,
"System, can you give me that high-grade space element crystal?"
System: "Yes, host. It is your reward from the start. But I want to ask, do you want a space element beast to hatch from this egg?"
Vik: "Yes, system."
System: "That's an excellent choice, host."
The system then gave me a crystal the size of a fist. It was transparent, but I could faintly sense the laws of space inside it. I slowly extracted the energy from the crystal, circulating it in my body first before feeding it to the egg. I didn't want to give the egg unfiltered energy.
Thinking this through, I started feeding space element energy to the egg. At the beginning, the energy was transparent, but later it darkened. I thought it was due to my lack of energy supply, so I increased the amount I fed the egg. Soon, the egg absorbed all the energy like a bottomless pit. At first, I felt no strain, as advancing to the Void Traveling Realm had increased my energy levels. But I soon realized that if I kept this up, my energy reserves would dwindle. So, I asked the system to provide me with energy from the Nuclear Spirit Reactor in the Anonymous Hall. However, the system had something else to say.
System: "Host, I think something is wrong with the space element energy you're providing. Normally, space energy looks transparent, but yours resembles a dark abyss. Typically, this egg wouldn't need so much energy to hatch. With the energy you've fed it so far, you could have easily hatched an Immortal level beast."
Vik: "System, don't overthink it. The color might be darker due to its concentration. Maybe giving this egg more energy is a good idea; it could lead to a beast with more potential than an Immortal level beast."
System: "Alright, host, I will do as you say. But I have a bad feeling about this."
Vik: "Don't worry, system. Start supplying energy to me."
After hearing my words, the system began supplying me with energy without delay. Now that I had more energy, I purified it and converted it into space element energy before feeding it to the egg. Soon, changes appeared on the egg's surface.
The surface started to darken until it resembled a complete void. It looked like a hole in reality, with something dark and unnatural residing within. While contemplating these changes, the system interrupted me.
System: "Host! We need to stop now. I realize now that we've been wrong from the start."
The system's voice sounded urgent, but I didn't understand why. I asked, "What do you mean, system? What are we doing wrong?"
System: "The space element spiritual energy, host! You haven't been giving it space element energy. Instead, you've been providing strange and corrupted energy, which created a passage between our world and an unknown place. Currently, this egg acts as a portal between our reality and a mysterious dimension. We need to destroy it, or some eldritch entity may emerge."
Just then, as if to confirm this, a strange vibration began around the egg.
"DING, HOST, AN UNKNOWN ENTITY IS TRYING TO INVADE YOUR WORLD."
"DING, THE UNKNOWN ENTITY'S STRENGTH EXCEEDS THE LIMIT OF YOUR CURRENT REALM."
"DING, TRYING TO APPRAISE THE STRENGTH OF THE UNKNOWN ENTITY."
"DING, APPRAISING FAILED."
"DING, STARTING SAFETY PROTOCOL TO STOP OR CONTAIN THE UNKNOWN ENTITY."
"DING, PROTOCOL FAILED."
"DING, THE UNKNOWN ENTITY EXCEEDS THE SYSTEM'S LEVEL. ATTEMPTING TO FIND INFORMATION IN SYSTEM DATABASE."
"DING, THE UNKNOWN ENTITY IS DESIGNATED AS AN "OUTER GOD" LEVEL BEING BY HIGHER BEINGS."
"DING, THE SYSTEM ENCOUNTERED AN OUTER GOD ENTITY. SAFETY PROTOCOL INITIATED. SYSTEM'S CONNECTION TO MAIN SYSTEM SPACE SEVERED."
"DING, SYSTEM'S CONNECTION WITH MAIN SPACE IS DISCONNECTED."
I saw numerous system messages indicating that an outer god level entity had invaded this world and that the system had severed its connection to main system space, even trying to self-destruct. I didn't know what was happening, but I understood one thing: I was completely in trouble now.
Soon, the system's voice returned.
System: "Host!!!! What have you done?"
Vik: "I don't know."
System: "You don't know?! You just summoned an outer god entity, and you say you don't know anything? If you wanted to die so much, you could have done it yourself. But now you're putting the whole realm at risk!"
Vik: "System, calm down. We can discuss this later. First, tell me what an outer god entity is."
System: "Host! I wish we had more time for a long discussion, but we don't. I can tell you that an outer god entity is a threat even higher beings avoid. They created a protocol in every system to sever connections with the main system space when encountering one."
After hearing the system, I finally understood what kind of entity I had come across and the threat it posed.
