Chapter 50 - 50

What does it feel like to survive in the wilderness?

Bruce Banner was currently experiencing it.

Without any tools, and with only a bedsheet that could be considered a modern industrial product, he was stranded on a small island.

Although there were no carnivorous dinosaurs around and his life wasn't threatened, the relatively small area and limited resources made survival quite challenging.

Having once read the novel "Robinson Crusoe," Bruce now felt even more unlucky than the protagonist in the story.

Fortunately, this terrible mood didn't last too long.

In the Marvel world, after personally taking Connie to school and asking her teacher for a long leave of absence, Shi Xiaolei took advantage of the little one still needing to stay at school for a day.

He took 2B to the city for a spin, purchasing a lot of supplies and equipment for their upcoming road trip.

There were quite a few things, and the villa they were currently renting was temporary, so piling them up at home might invite complaints from the landlord or property management.

To be safe, Shi Xiaolei brought all these purchased items into the Ark, planning to use the space in the base to temporarily store them.

He found an empty room and organized the items.

Remembering that Bruce Banner was still lying in the small cabin, Shi Xiaolei, as a matter of routine, walked through the small woods to the riverbank a hundred meters away.

Dabai had already left, but the embers of the campfire Bruce had lit were still there.

Seeing this pile of ashes, and then checking inside the cabin, Shi Xiaolei finally realized that 'Bruce Banner had woken up from his coma.'

Where did the person go?

With this question, Shi Xiaolei whistled.

Soon, Dabai, who was strolling nearby, ran over at the sound.

Then, because of Dabai's roar, the giant eagle, which was circling and hunting for food over the mangrove forest, was also summoned back and appeared before Shi Xiaolei.

He spent a long time asking his two pets, using both words and gestures.

Understanding his master's meaning, the giant eagle carried him over the 'Herbivore Island' and gave him the answer through its actions.

"Here?" Seeing the giant eagle stop and hover above the small island, Shi Xiaolei reacted.

Looking down, it turned out to be the Herbivore Island, which he called his 'fresh meat warehouse,' and he couldn't help but smile.

"That's impressive, you're quite clever, you knew to throw him here."

Herbivore Island was full of grass and dinosaurs; it wouldn't threaten Bruce's life, and it was a small island with limited area, so he couldn't disappear without a trace...

To be honest, Shi Xiaolei hadn't expected the giant eagle to be so intelligent, arranging things so thoughtfully.

Gently patting the giant eagle's neck and stroking it a few times, Shi Xiaolei smiled and instructed, "Come on, let's go down and find that person."

"Caw!" With a cry, the giant eagle plunged down.

Diving and gliding, the speed was faster than a roller coaster.

After a whistling gust of wind, Shi Xiaolei had already landed on the small island, appearing before Bruce Banner.

"Hey, buddy, how are you?"

Bruce Banner had already noticed the giant eagle when it reappeared, but he hadn't expected the proud giant eagle to be carrying a person on its back.

Holding a stone he had just picked up from the beach in his left hand and a few red berries he had found in the grass in his right, he stared blankly at Shi Xiaolei, who had appeared before him.

After two or three seconds, Bruce Banner somewhat flusteredly raised his hand and responded, "Hi~. You are..."

"Locke, just call me Locke." Stepping forward and extending his right hand, Shi Xiaolei smiled gently. "Dr. Banner, you're finally awake."

"Hello." While shaking hands, Bruce Banner analyzed Shi Xiaolei's words and became wary in his heart.

"Mr. Locke, do we know each other? Did you bring me here?"

"Emmm, how should I put it?" Scratching his head, Shi Xiaolei showed a bit of apology on his face.

"I guess you could say we know each other; we had a fight a few days ago."

There was no TV, clock, or calendar in the small cabin, so after waking up, Bruce had no concept of the date and didn't know that he had actually been asleep for several days.

Thinking he had only been unconscious for at most a day, Bruce unconsciously frowned. "Had a fight a few days ago? I don't remember that."

"You weren't like this then." Thinking Bruce had just forgotten his memories of transforming into the Hulk, Shi Xiaolei reminded him, "That big green guy, remember him?"

With fragments of memory in his mind, Bruce Banner struggled to recall for a few seconds and finally remembered.

"You were the one in the armor?" After a pause, Bruce couldn't help but ask, "You just said a few days ago? Has it really been several days?"

"To be precise, it's been over four days." Shi Xiaolei shrugged. "Looks like you remember."

Being unconscious for four days, much longer than he had imagined... Bruce felt that this might be a terrible consequence of his sudden physical mutation, and he couldn't help but feel down and discouraged.

Seeing the change in his expression, Shi Xiaolei misunderstood again. "Dr. Banner, don't worry. This is my territory; the military won't find you here."

"No, I'm not..." Sighing and shaking his head, Bruce Banner forced a bitter smile. "Never mind, let's not talk about it. Anyway, thank you, Mr. Locke. If you hadn't intervened, I really can't imagine how much destruction I would have caused."

"It was quite exaggerated." Recalling the scene he had witnessed, Shi Xiaolei also smiled bitterly. "To be honest, I've been worried these past few days. If you had woken up when I wasn't around... I really can't imagine how I would feel after you tore this place apart."

Tore apart? In the middle of nowhere, what was there to tear apart? Did he mean the small cabin?

With deep confusion, Bruce finally couldn't help but ask, "You said 'this place'? Mr. Locke, can you tell me where exactly this is?"

"This..." It was hard to explain in a few words, and Shi Xiaolei scratched his head, looking a bit troubled. "It's a long story. Dr. Banner, this isn't the place for a chat, so how about we go to the base first? I'll show you around and explain on the way."

"Base?" Having just escaped from a military biochemical experimental base, Bruce Banner was very sensitive to the word 'base.' As soon as Shi Xiaolei mentioned it, a strong sense of wariness immediately rose in his eyes.

"Yes. Oh, actually, it's just my home. I call it the survival base." Pointing to a Brontosaurus several hundred meters behind Bruce, Shi Xiaolei explained with a smile, "As you can see, this is a dinosaur world, and if you don't have a safe base, life can be tough."

So it was a survival base.

Relieved, Bruce Banner finally nodded. "Alright then, I'll follow your lead. By the way, do you have any clothes at your place? Could I borrow a set?"

"No problem, I have food and clothes." As he spoke, he jumped onto the giant eagle's back.

Looking down at Bruce Banner, who was still standing on the beach, Shi Xiaolei smiled apologetically. "Dr. Banner, I'm sorry, you'll have to bear with it."

"Huh?"
