Chapter 13 - 13

Every day, I can check in once to receive a random reward, plus 10 check-in points.

Although most of the random rewards from checking in are daily necessities of little value, the accumulated check-in points are of great significance—for every 300 check-in points, I can redeem a blind box from the system that used to be a faulty hard drive.

The Barbarian bloodline from "Diablo 2" that Shi Xiaolei currently possesses, as well as the two characters 2B and Kanna, were all opened from these blind boxes.

This is the Marvel world, where countless undercurrents hide beneath the calm surface. To live a leisurely life, extraordinary strength is essential.

Whether it's powerful companions or bloodlines with immense potential, through the first three attempts, Shi Xiaolei has summarized one experience: 'The rewards opened from blind boxes can greatly enhance one's own strength.'

Ever since he intervened in the battle between Iron Monger and Iron Man that day, leaving a hidden danger of exposing his identity, Shi Xiaolei had been eyeing the next opportunity to open a blind box.

Although he had already merged with the Barbarian bloodline and possessed considerable combat power, and had already summoned 2B and Kanna, as a transmigrator from China… due to his inherent 'fear of insufficient firepower,' at this critical juncture when he was about to be exposed or had already been exposed, Shi Xiaolei genuinely wanted to open another blind box to add another layer of insurance for his family.

One day, two days, three days… counting the days, until today, Shi Xiaolei finally accumulated 300 check-in points once again.

As for why he didn't immediately redeem and open the blind box once he had enough points, but instead waited an extra day… there was no other reason, it was just for the sake of caution.

The first time he opened a box and merged with the Barbarian bloodline, the pain was so intense that Shi Xiaolei's screams alarmed the neighbors; the third time he opened a box, the little girl Kanna arrived, and as a result, charging her to replenish her energy caused a power outage in the entire neighborhood.

Among the three unboxing experiences, only the second one didn't cause much of a stir.

Having already entered S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar and become a key target of their attention, Shi Xiaolei didn't want to cause any more unusual situations that would attract an even higher level of surveillance.

Anyway, he had already promised the little girl that he would take her fishing at sea tomorrow, so he might as well take this opportunity to open the blind box on the vast, deserted ocean.

This way, even if the new companion caused some kind of situation, it wouldn't be too conspicuous… With excitement and anticipation, he stayed up until midnight before finally falling asleep.

Early the next morning, before he was fully awake, Shi Xiaolei was roused by a soft, sweet call.

"Xiaolei, Xiaolei, wake up~!"

He opened his eyes and squinted drowsily. It was the little girl, Kanna.

Looking at the little girl's cute and innocent face, and feeling her excitement and anticipation, Shi Xiaolei's slight morning grumpiness immediately vanished without a trace.

"Morning, Kanna." He pulled his arm out from under the covers, rubbed the little girl's head, and smiled, "You have to get off me first before I can get up."

"Oh~." The little girl replied, then scrambled off him and slid down the side of the bed to the floor.

She truly was a cutie. Watching the little girl's movements, Shi Xiaolei couldn't help but think of the panda cubs he had seen in videos. Those little guys used the same set of movements when climbing down from a height.

He fetched the beach shorts and large T-shirt that served as his loungewear from the back of the chair by the bed, got dressed under the covers, then threw off the quilt and got out of bed.

Bending down, he picked up the little girl Kanna, and the two left the room and went into the living room.

"Sylvia, morning." 2B was already up and busy packing. Seeing her busy figure, Shi Xiaolei casually greeted her.

"Good morning." She raised her hand and returned a smile, then 2B asked, "Locke, should we bring the salmon?"

"Bring it. Better safe than sorry, what if we don't catch a suitable big fish…"

"No way~!" Before Shi Xiaolei could finish, Kanna in his arms protested, "I will definitely catch a big fish today, at least THIS big~!"

"Haha, right." Looking at the little girl, who had spread her arms wide, Shi Xiaolei couldn't help but laugh again.

He brushed his teeth, washed his face, and took the little girl back to the room to change her into a pretty outfit.

After preparing to leave, the three left home and first had an authentic Chinese breakfast at a nearby breakfast shop. By nearly nine in the morning, they finally arrived at a private yacht marina located south of Brooklyn, near Floyd Bennett Field.

Considering that he needed to open a blind box at sea and had to avoid prying eyes, Shi Xiaolei did not rent a yacht online but instead called Stark directly and borrowed his private yacht.

"Hi, you must be Locke, right?" As the family arrived at the dock, a chubby man immediately came up to them, "I'm Happy, Mr. Stark's driver and bodyguard."

"Hello, Happy." Shi Xiaolei was a little surprised that Stark had sent him over.

Even more surprising was that after Happy led the three to the yacht and introduced them, he stated that he would stay with them all day and drive the yacht for them.

"…" Knowing this was a kind gesture from Stark, but honestly, Shi Xiaolei was indeed a bit troubled.

Refusing wasn't quite appropriate. Not refusing, however, meant that with Happy, an outsider, present, he wouldn't be able to open the box conveniently.

After struggling for a while, Shi Xiaolei finally came up with a plausible excuse.

While the little girl was excitedly exploring the yacht and 2B was busy looking after her, Shi Xiaolei quietly pulled Happy onto the deck and put his arm around his shoulder: "Hey, buddy, I'm a little embarrassed, but could you… not follow us?"

"Hmm?"

Pointing back inside the cabin, Shi Xiaolei deliberately winked: "It's a rare opportunity like this, I plan to wait until the little one falls asleep… you know?"

He looked back, his gaze falling on 2B, and Happy showed a look of sudden understanding: "I get it, I get it."

"So, what's your answer?"

"I can leave and give you guys some space," Happy said cooperatively, "Of course, on the condition that you can drive this thing."

It wasn't that he was afraid of crashing the yacht; after all, with Stark's wealth and his attitude towards Shi Xiaolei's family, even if the yacht was damaged, he wouldn't ask for compensation. What Happy was truly worried about was the family getting into an accident at sea due to improper operation.

"Then it's no problem." Shi Xiaolei smiled, "You might not know, but Sylvia is an expert driver. Anything that flies in the sky, swims in the water, or runs on the ground—there's no vehicle she can't operate."

"…" Happy looked back at 2B, who was still with the child, then turned back to Shi Xiaolei, his face full of disbelief: "Buddy, are you serious?"
