Chapter 977 - Chapter 511: Ash's Intervention in History, The Beginning of Peaceful Coexistence Between Pokemon and Humans!_3

The division of work between the two quickly stabilized.

However, after a few missions, Cynthia also noticed some people following them nearby.

Sometimes it's young people dressed in Diamond Clan garb, sometimes members of the Pearl Clan.

They would always use excuses such as searching for berries or patrolling their territory to conveniently appear at the places where Ash and Cynthia were carrying out their tasks.

Ash was completely unsuspecting, even thinking that people in the Hisui Region were quite enthusiastic.

"Sis, today that Diamond Clan guy helped us move stuff again."

"Yes, he is indeed a nice person."

Cynthia nodded with a smile, without exposing him.

Since they want to observe, let them watch; Ash never needs to put on a show concerning how he treats his Pokemon.

In the first few days, the residents of Jubilife Village still maintained a sense of mistrust towards the two.

They would watch Pikachu on Ash's shoulder from afar and instinctively step to the side of the road when Garchomp passed by.

But this wariness soon changed because of a small incident.

A new farmland was being cultivated on the east side of Jubilife Village, but there were many hard rocks mixed in the soil.

The villagers responsible for cultivation had been busy for several days, yet progress remained very slow.

When Ash returned after completing his task, he saw a few villagers sitting by the field resting.

Not far away were a Rhyhorn and several Geodudes.

The villagers evidently knew that these Pokemon possessed the strength to move rocks, but they were too scared to approach them.

"They've been active nearby all the time; whenever we approach, they assume a threatening posture."

Ash observed for a while and quickly figured out the reason: "Because this land is originally where they find food, and with you suddenly coming in with tools, of course, they feel their territory is threatened."

Under the anxious watch of the villagers, Ash approached the Rhyhorn with Pikachu.

He first laid down some berries, then used the Power of Viridian to ease its wariness, conveying the villagers' intention to clear only part of the land.

Initially, the Rhyhorn was unwilling to approach humans, with the exception of the person in front of it who made it feel comfortable.

But when Ash helped the villagers clear the frequently blocked mud on the other side and promised to provide food daily, it eventually agreed to try cooperating.

Rhyhorn was responsible for breaking open the hard soil layers, while Geodude helped to move the rocks away.

Work originally requiring over ten villagers laboring for several days was significantly completed in just one afternoon.

Seeing the quickly cleared land, the villagers realized for the first time that the power of Pokemon can not only bring danger but also simplify many difficult tasks.

Days later, the person in charge of the farmland approached Ash.

He wanted to attempt becoming partners with that Rhyhorn but didn't know how to go about it.

Ash did not advise him to directly throw a Pokeball but taught him to bring food to the field every day, letting the Rhyhorn get accustomed to his presence before attempting to work together.

After continuously interacting for seven days, the Rhyhorn proactively lowered its head, allowing the villager to touch its head.

Only then did Ash hand over the Pokeball made by Team Galactic to the villager.

The Rhyhorn did not resist, instead voluntarily touching the Pokeball.

This event quickly spread throughout Jubilife Village.

The villagers who originally feared Pokemon had for the first time developed an interest in actively understanding Pokemon.

Soon after, the irrigation conduits near the village faced issues due to insufficient water.

Ash found several Buizels by the river, first helping them clear dry branches near their nests and then asking them to use Water Gun to supplement the farmland's water supply.

Cynthia made arrangements with the villagers for daily work times and required them to prepare enough berries as reciprocation.

"Pokemon are willing to help humans, but that doesn't mean humans can leave everything to Pokemon."

"Only when both sides respect each other can this relationship be sustained."

Under her arrangements, the villagers did not treat the Buizels as tools to be used for drawing water at any time.

After daily irrigation, they would bring food to the riverside and also clean the surrounding debris.

Several Buizels gradually got used to these humans, and one even started to actively follow the young villager responsible for the waterway.

Such stories kept growing in number.

The peaceful coexistence between humans and Pokemon was no longer just on paper; it was truly an initiation into collaboration.

With Ash's and Cynthia's assistance, Jubilife Village already bore some semblance of the world that would come later.
