Now, before we get into the events that happened afterward. I need you all to understand the clan structure and political Structure of Knonoha. Unlike before, where I overestimated my own power and my clan's influence. Now I had a real better grasp of political structure and power movements.
You could divide everyone present in the power structure into 4 categories.
The royal clans, the major clans, the middle clans, the small clans, and the bureaucracy. The major clans include the Uchiha, the Hyuga, the Senju, the Hatake, and, for now, the Sarutobi of the Hokage's faction. These were called the royals, not because of their lineage but the cumulative amount of powers, wealth, and influence they wielded. They were officially part of the Major clans. But they were differentiated on the fact that if provided the opportunity, can they give rise to a Hokage?
They were the top brass and did not really concern themselves with anyone else except the truly top. Nothing else can actually affect their operation.
Below them were 2 structures of power in Konoha. The Jonin Council, which is led by the Jonin Commander. Basically, Every Jonin of Konoha. But this was more of a military body, like the High Command. They did not take any part in Governance or administration. They allowed it to be so because on the governance side, the Clan Council, also called the Civilian Council, gave votes to all shinobi clans. It would be a moot point to increase their workload unnecessarily.
Then came the other clans. If they could get to 500 points of combat Potential, which means 500 Genin or 50 Chunin, or 15 Special Jonins or 5 Jonin. The Nara, the Akimichi, the Yamanaka, the Inuzuka, the Aburame, the Shimura, and probably any other clan that you have heard of belong to this category. They are a bit concerned about the lower structure. But mostly in financial sectors. They don't really see us as a threat, but more like nuisances in growth because their shinobi strength is way beyond us. I had underestimated how high an actual Jonin's strength is. But now that I know. It was obvious why no other clan showed up in canon very much.
The Royal clans were also officially major clans. Each of them had 10 votes.
The small clans were any clans incapable of producing more than 50 points. They never had anything like a Jonin. Mostly, they were small Shinobi families with someone anywhere from an experienced Genin to a special Jonin leading them. But ususally, they were only 1 family with the elite Chunin grandfather as leader and members being his 2 chunin sons and 4 genin grandsons.
Or they were congregates of logistics shinobis like us. Logistics shinobis like Kunai makers were given half the original combat value. These clans usually operated under the protection and guidance of middling clans. Also, almost all of the civilian clans in Konoha, except the ones in the FAK(Finance Association of Konoha), were part of the small clans.
These guys were the ones who changed with the wind. They were too small to have opinions. Survival mattered more.
Politically, they did not have an individual vote. But they had a private body called, Association of Konoha's Small Enterprises, or AKSE for short. They all collected and elected 10 Akse members to represent them in the clan council.
Now for the middle clans. The ones that we'll be facing. All other clans were considered middle clans. Gekko, Kurokami, Kurama, Shiranui, etc. There were roughly 50 of them in Koonoha.
These were basically small clans who had gained numbers like the Kurosawa, or had awakened Kekkei Genkai. They may or may not have a Jonin. Each clan had at least 1 vote. With one additional vote per active Jonin in the clan. Also, the Finance Association of Konoha had 14 civilian clans, each having one vote. They were strong, but due to the amount of money and political connections they had, and not because they could fight.
This was the political disaster zone. Because their survival was not in danger like the small ones, and not assured like the big ones. They fought tooth and nail for every Ryo and political chit.
They had several factions. The first was the Shiranui faction. You might have heard some special Jonins with their name. Purely militaristic faction whose focus was on growth in Shinobi strength. Financially neutral. Small with 6-7 clans. The second was the Gekko faction of around 14-15 clans. They owned a lot of taverns, restaurants, shops, and baths, and established businesses like the Hyuga and the Akimichi. Often found squabbling with the elemental faction. As the name suggests, they were the elemental Jutsu clans led by the fire release Hinote clan and the Earth release Jiban clan.
They were basically elite merchants trying to enter the established commerce sphere by opening shops and restaurants. They also had around the same number of clans, like Gekko.
Then the neutral faction, which did entirely different stuff like weapons, etc. Even though the Nara had a major stake in Weapons. There was room for smaller clans. There were some clans who helped the major clans with their businesses, like cattle rearing in the case of Inuzuka, or outright farming and herb gardening like Aburame.
The FAK stayed neutral most of the time, voting with the Hokage. They only expressed concerns in case of purely commercial laws.
The ones I will have to engage with the most?
The Kurokami.
They were the resident Fuinjutsu Experts before us. When we rose, they thought of us as children playing Shinobi. After all, fuinjutsu talent was rare. But after the Genin exams for the clan, they had become wary. And now with the Hokage's protection gone. I was sure they would start making moves.
They controlled the 3 other middle and all the 6 small clans that made tags as thus the overall Tag market in Konoha by a large percentage. They were superior in terms of personnel, methods, and expertise. They had a greater variety and number of tags.
But what made us strong was that we were actual Shinobis and not logistical ones like most of them. Now we had medical ninjas. But most importantly. We had shown the capability of evolution. They could make advanced tags. But they hadn't made any new fuinjutsu seals or tags in a while now. Advanced seals may be gained in time. New seals will not.
If they wanted to control or suppress us. Now was their chance. Because in a few years, we'll have the Finances and seals to combat their influence.
