Chapter 21 - Saving Mrs. Martinez

While heading toward the residence, Max looked at her and activated his [Discerning Eyes] ability with a thought.

Immediately, a screen appeared in front of him.

[Name: Ruth Martinez]

Level: 2

Status:

Severely lacking in nutrition.

About to die.

Extremely worried about her family's wellbeing.

As soon as he read up the information that appeared in front of him, a smaller screen popped up.

[Ding! It has been detected that the host has a strong interest in the target and wants to make her his woman. Would you like to use the Discerning Eyes to see the target's sexual information to make the conquest easier?]

[Yes/No]

Max's eyes lit up, but since he didn't want to be seen clicking the air, he tried using his thoughts and to his pleasant surprise, it worked.

The next moment, the information on the screen changed.

[Name: Ruth Martinez]

Marital Status: Married

Sexual Satisfaction: 20%

Vaginal Virginity: No

Anal Virginity: Yes

Sexual Arousal: 0%

Sensual Points: Lips, Tongue, Throat, Neck, Nipples, Navel, Clitoris, Vagina, Anus.

Sexual Fetish/Fantasy: Submission. Anal. Rough Sex. Deep Throat.

'Oh? It seems Mr. Martinez couldn't satisfy her.' He thought upon seeing her sexual satisfaction level.

Then, as he came down and read her sensual points, which were quite a few, he realized this gentle, virtuous, caring and elegant housewife and mother had a large sexual appetite and some interesting fetishes.

His breathing deepened as he thought how she would react when he fucked her roughly, forced her to deep throat him and completely dominated her in bed.

Wouldn't she become completely obedient to him?

And since he would also be making sure her children were well-fed and safe, wouldn't she fall head over heels with him?

A short while later, they were sitting in the living room. Max—after feeling how weak and defenseless she was and also seemed to feel comfortable with the proximity—didn't let go of her and sat beside her on the sofa, his hand still around her waist.

"How is everyone, Mrs. Martinez?" Max asked.

Hearing this, Ruth began sobbing, but perhaps because there was no liquid left in her body or maybe because her anguish was beyond expression, no tears appeared.

She clutched his sleeve over the shoulder and began speaking in a choking voice, "W-We have been suffering, Max. Our rations and water were used up even though we tried to save them. My father-in-law, he passed away. Jose, he is…"

Max listened without interrupting her and soon got the picture of what they have been through since the D-Day.

Remembering the old man Martinez, who had passed away because he stopped eating to save some rations for his family, he sighed in his heart.

When he heard about how Jose went out to find the supplies, only to return, seriously injured, he didn't feel bad.

If he had gathered the courage and had gone out before his old man passed away and his son was on the verge of death, he would have commended him, but now, he only felt disdain for his cowardice.

Of course, he was aware that before he got the system, he was also the same—he also hadn't gone out to find some supplies—but this didn't make any difference because he had accepted he was also a cowardly man and even felt ashamed of himself when he remembered the moments when he was staring at his room's ceiling, awaiting his death.

After she finished speaking and Max remained silent, Ruth looked at him, bit her lower lip and implored, "M-Max… can you help us… please?"

Max looked into her reddened eyes and said, "Emily didn't send me here."

"Huh?" Ruth looked at him in surprise and confusion. Then, a hint of fear began to creep on her face.

Seeing this, Max added, "Don't worry, I'm not here to harm you."

Ruth relaxed a little upon hearing this. Then, she began pondering over what he said and became anxious and felt… betrayed.

Yes, betrayed. While they weren't best of friends, she and Emily were still quite close with each other.

Since her family was well off right now—had food and water—shouldn't she have sent him to help her family? But she had not.

After a few moments, she sighed. If their roles were reversed and her family had enough supplies, knowing there was no safe way to replenish them in near future, she probably would have also decided to ignore Emily. So, she shouldn't really blame her.

After this realization, her heart became heavy and her vision was beginning to blur.

Max, who was watching her, noticed this and hurriedly shook her shoulders and lightly slapped her face., "Mrs. Martinez, hey, can you hear me? I can bring food and water for your family.."

'Fuck! I should have first fed her nutritious bread and some water before trying to talk to her.' He cursed inwardly.

Ruth had no energy left in her body for a while now. If Max hadn't come when he did, she probably would have passed away by now. But the hope that he might be able to help her and family kept her alive.

However, after he told her Emily hadn't sent him, meaning she didn't want to help her, she lost that hope. So, now, nothing was holding her fragile life together.

Fortunately, after hearing him, she began trying to not die.

Without wasting any time, Max brought out a cup from his inventory, filled it with water and put it on her lips, "Here, drink it."

Ruth's lips touched the edge of the cup, and she slowly began sipping. As the refreshing water wet her lips, tongue and went down her parched throat and then her stomach, a hint of life began returning in eyes.

After she had drunk a quarter of the cup, Max took out the Nutritious Bread and began feeding her.

Phew!

After ten minutes, Max exhaled a deep breath in relief and looked at Mrs. Martinez, who was leaning back into the sofa, her eyes closed.

He had just finished feeding her a slice of bread and gave her the rest of the water in the cup. Now, as her body was rapidly digesting the bread and water, she was recovering her energy and was no longer in danger of dying.

Suddenly, he remembered Nia and her son, Juan, and immediately shot to his feet.

"Where are Nia and Juan?" He shook her back to her senses and quickly asked.

As Ruth's hazy consciousness cleared, she panicked and tried to get up, but stumbled and fell back on the couch.

"You stay here. I'll go check up on them. Just tell me where they are?"

"Y-Yes." Ruth nodded and quickly told him.

She also told him where her husband, Jose, was—because he was seriously injured and knew he most likely wouldn't survive, he had asked her to put him in an empty room, instead of their bedroom where she could see him all the time and stayed in a constant state of worry.

Clearly, however, him being in a different room hadn't helped her much.

As for Nia and Juan—unlike him, Natalie, Sophie, and Emily, who had subconsciously decided to stay in their own room as they waited for their deaths so as not to affect each other's emotions—were in one room.

If not for the fact Emily's bed wasn't big enough for the three of them to lay comfortably, they would have been in Emily's room.

A few moments later, he arrived in Juan and Nia's room. Immediately after he checked their pulses, his pupils constricted.
