The three stood together and were steadfastly facing the Commander. "They are armed and ready now sir!" Shouted the assistant.
"Good, now fill them all with the details. Their first mission was to investigate the lost guards that were sent to the monster lair nearby.
"Dead or alive?" Asked Roan.
"In my case, at least get their badge and go back here. If you can destroy the monsters in that lair then better. We must eliminate the enemies and threats as they have abducted several people."
"Your rewards will be gold coins and a skill page of your class. Remember, this skill pages are more valuable than your wages combined in a year. So cherish it." Commander Vale announced.
"Yes sir! We will cherish it!" The three saluted and then prepared to go to their mission.
They have to be careful and go back alive in one piece as per the main goal was. Also, they have to level up. As for the skill pages, they were dropped by monster bosses. They were the most cherished reward one can have.
The three then assessed their capabilities and skills. All of them were just newbies or trainees from their instructors. Sad news was they were the ones left of their village. As for the other students of their teachers, they maybe got to survive the attack. They were all capable of course. But enemies were also not a meager threat. They were at least able to destroy their village.
In the meantime, they got a group call. They went assessing their team in the training grounds. To think of it, they were all summoners. They would take down enemies with their numbers.
The three then went to the training grounds and met other guards. They all watched them as nuisance to their training as kids playing with them. Their practice with their swords were stopped for a moment.
Roan was a Lycanthrope and he displayed his capability. He shapeshift to Werewolf and summoned wolves and Ravens.
By what he made, the two were surprised. Clapping their hands on the process. The guards then dropped their weapons in utter shock.
Rick then was impressed and then it was him next.
Rick was a Druid and then he summoned forces of nature: like Elemental vines, Bear, and Treants. After summoning them, he shapeshift to Werebear. He also has skills as a Werebear like Roan's werewolf form.
The other two clapped their hands and so Ren's turn was up. He returned to being human afterwards.
Meanwhile Ren was a Necromancer, he summoned Skeletons. He could also fire ranged spells so he could be used as a ranged support. He could also do melee in battle as he could wield a sword.
They all have 4 skills at the moment as they have told each other. They needed to know how strong their comrade was so they would not overestimate or underestimate each other. Just a brief understanding of each strengths and weaknesses.
As for Ren, his weakness was stamina, which means he was asthmatic. Roan for his near sightedness and Rick for his mana sickness, which means he got short in mana regeneration. They need to cure this illnesses or their growth would be in a detrimental state.
As for their cure, it was pricey. Maybe a Priest that has a cure all spell might be the one to go to but it costs 100 gold coins each. And their wages were only 10 coppers per month. It was by far, a luxury to spend it to their healing. But they know it was worth it.
"Now that we got to know each others weaknesses, then we would be in a more cautious stage." Ren said then grabbed his broadsword.
The three then planned their roles. Then Rick volunteered to be the front line defender. Or he could assist in mid. If they would change roles depends on the situation, then Roan could do a backup from the mid to front. As for Roan, he would be in the vanguard role or the guard in the back.
As for their team composition, Ren could be a ranged guard or support. As for the others, they were both melee and could switch when it matters. Then as for their weakness, were ranged attackers. They would work harder if they want to perfect their team roles.
Ren was calm and Roan was shaking. Maybe he was nervous of the next mission. As by far, he hasn't killed any creature before so he was hesitating. But he needs to kill to survive. That's the law of this dog eat dog world. The strong preys the weak. So you need to be strong, stronger than your enemies.
Rick was just a simple person, he used a an axe and shield for defensive purposes. And Ren went to sharpen his broad sword. Roan then saw small chains in the weapon wrack and so he grabbed it. He immediately attached it to the curved daggers he held and then practiced his attack style. He was called the Chains Master of his peers in the Village.
Ren's attack style was ranged and melee. So he could switch anytime. As for Rick, he was pure melee. Roan could do mid range to close range so it was a good combination.
They needed to practice their team roles without the guidance of a teacher this time. But the commander was trusting these three for a reason. They were all master level already. If not for their skills only 4 then they were all levels of their masters. Commander Vale came to assess their papers and their stats were as same as him.
"How come they were so young but has abnormal stat amounts?" The commander asked himself. "Wait, maybe they were the prodigies of their peers?"
He has no evidence, yet he has a strong feeling that they were. He went to see the students and the training grounds were in chaos. "So they started their team training huh,"
