Chapter 372 - Chapter 340: Trouble on the Other Side

Everything was just as Clark saw it: a Wall of Origin stood there, with countless giant statues stacked like a human pyramid, their eyes emitting ominous light.

"They're trying to communicate with me... I sense life among them." Ron quickly flew over, hovering in front of the giants, looking at their sculpted faces.

"Be careful, Ron, I can't be sure they aren't dangerous," Superman warned, not liking such unknown things.

When these things were still on the Origin Wall, anyone who touched the wall would be bizarrely petrified, becoming part of the Origin Wall, sealed away as an unknown legend of the DC Universe.

And now that they had fallen to the ground, it was still difficult to ensure they wouldn't have petrifying abilities.

"Don't you understand? The Totality is seeking communication; I can read their thoughts." Ron ignored Clark's advice weirdly and slowly extended his hand to one of the statues.

"Slow down, Ron." Clark kept his distance, ready to rescue him if anything went wrong.

"No, not any slower, Clark." Ron's face revealed a strange smile: "It's a leap for the world; I must believe in the positive meaning within it, I must explore it."

His red pupils flashed, activating his psychic ability, connecting his mind with these presences and with the Totality behind the wall.

He transformed their chaotic noise into the gospel that Mars People could understand, patterns the brain could comprehend, just like before.

He hoped to gain answers... solace... or hope from them.

However, things turned out completely different from what he imagined. Indeed, he saw some patterns.

He saw humanity's end, saw all destruction, saw his family reduced to ashes in the blazing fire...

He saw a nightmare.

"No!... What have I seen?" Ron quickly released his grasp, stumbling backward, and right in front of him, the giant statue came to life.

It rebuked in standard human language.

"You! The most abominable thing, you must be destroyed!"

"Get away from there, Ron!" Superman immediately flew toward him, wanting to save his teammate: "This is another defense mechanism!"

The giant statue initially presented a cruciform, arms spread and pressed against the wall, but now they all came to life, with massive palms like walls trying to crush Superman and the Mars Hunter.

Ron found he couldn't even sever the mind connection; the bizarre thoughts of these statues remained connected to his mind.

"No! Get out of my head!"

His eyes emitted red lasers while fiercely striking the statue's massive hands with his fists.

Some say the statues trapped in the Wall of Origin were once Multiverse Level big shots, such as Darkseid's father, Yu Jia Khan, or some insane Otherworld Superman.

The heavy punch, capable of cracking mountains, landed on these statues, completely unfazed, as if they were trying to swat mosquitoes in the air, their massive hands still chasing the duo.

Not far away, more and more statues were coming to life.

"Ron, what did they tell you? Tell me." Clark forcefully warded off the massive palm, flying up and punching the statue's chin, but the unknown powerhouse merely slightly raised its chin.

Before Ron could respond, the giant struck by Clark immediately lowered its head and shot beams from its eyes, the powerful energy burning everything it touched like light pillars. Ron desperately evaded, yet half of his cape was burned.

The giant let out a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering roar, continually attacking the Mars Hunter: "We are her creators! And you are her first decayed cell! You must be destroyed!"

Ron gritted his teeth, no longer trying to escape the opponent's thoughts but instead fully deploying his spiritual energy, delving into the opponent's mind's depths.

He no longer wanted to hide; he wanted to see the truth.

"Ron, quickly leave!"

"No, Clark, this must be some kind of defense mechanism, a test for me..."

"Damn it..."

Clark flew up, grabbed the Mars Hunter, and dodged, closely followed by two massive beams that swept through their previous position.

If they hadn't dodged, Ron would undoubtedly have been severely injured.

The two found themselves besieged by the giant statues, and now, with the Mars Hunter solely focused on seeking the truth, his power was entirely engaged in launching psychic abilities, his body was like a puppet manipulated by strings.

During their predicament, they completely overlooked the lack of contact from Batman and Hawk Woman within their minds, which had been a long time.

..........

"Batman? Superman? Mars Hunter? Please respond if you hear! I am Hawk Woman!"

Inside Mars Hunter's mind, Hawk Woman simultaneously controlled the flight device to eradicate mutated cells, while continuously adjusting the control panel, attempting to contact her teammates.

However, a few minutes ago, she had been unable to reach anyone.

While she struggled to attempt contact, a sharp laugh sounded behind her: "Yahahaha, they can't hear!"

"Joker! How did you..."

Yet, Joker didn't answer her; he raised the chainsaw in his hand with a loud laugh and swung it down at Hawk Woman.

Hawk Woman maneuvered her wings to fend off Joker's attacks. Her wings, after knowing Hawkman was brutally beaten after his wings were torn apart last time, were replaced with a full set of N Metal.

Ordinary chainsaws can't break through N Metal defense.

But would Joker be like others? In his hands, the chainsaw was merely a blunt instrument; he revved the engine only for sound and atmosphere; he could use bricks or folding chairs instead.

He laughed loudly, striking Hawk Woman's head with the chainsaw's handle; he hadn't poisoned the saw blade but had smeared his best poison over the chainsaw's engine casing.

Joker's abnormal actions, along with strange fighting techniques, left Hawk Woman, who still had to pilot the craft, completely outmatched in the cramped space.

She was knocked out by Joker, dragged from her seat, and thrown to one side. Joker sat in the chair, his fingers moving over the console, bursting into laughter again.

While Hawk Woman attempted to contact the outside world, Batman similarly made attempts inside Superman's mind. At the moment the signal was cut off, he instinctively sensed something was wrong.

But now, it's all too late.

He heard a faint, cold laugh.

This made his thoughts explode like all the hairs of a small animal.
