Chapter 172 - Chapter 143: Made the Right Bet

In the next moment, Su Ming was enveloped in blue light, streaking across the cosmic space. During this peculiar flight, he vaguely perceived four gigantic silhouettes brushing past him.

"Uh, those should be the Omega Four Gods..."

They appeared after the "Metal" event in the new event "Justice is Absent". They are four strange ancient giant gods representing entropy, mystery, marvel, and knowledge. For this, they constantly devour planets throughout the universe to seek energy.

Su Ming speculated that they might have been released from the Wall of Origin, as he had never heard of them before. However, these concepts inherently belong to the DC World.

Su Ming wasn't deeply acquainted with the Four Gods; the information provided in the comics was vague. His initial reaction was that DC had launched four 'Galactus', each headed for Earth.

These beings are incredibly powerful, each representing a rule of strength that ascends to the essential level of the cosmos.

However, even if Su Ming wanted to get involved in this matter, he couldn't for now. After he finished mulling over the Four Gods, he found himself outside the wall. The gap in the Wall of Origin was already far behind him, and he was now amidst the churning gray mist of the Sea of Origin.

Manhattan, true to his earnest nature, sent Su Ming away without waiting an extra second. No wonder he was ostracized to the universe's depths by the editors.

Su Ming wavered on whether to settle scores with him. Though he wanted to seek justice for the original Slade, holding a grudge felt like arguing with a vending machine.

But now wasn't the time for these thoughts. Su Ming decided to follow his plan first. If his guess was correct, it wouldn't be long before he would see other worlds.

He was enveloped in a special blue energy, allowing him to continue flying and breathing in this eerie environment. But who knew how long this thin blue light would last?

The gray originating matter was neither tangible nor had a temperature, like headless thoughts perhaps residing in everyone's mind.

They rolled incessantly like waves or boiling magma, presenting a darker color but seemingly hiding something tangible within.

Unseeable and indescribable, it was there yet impossible to delineate.

There was no concept of time and space here, and Su Ming didn't know how long he had been flying within it, but eventually, the gray matter dissipated.

The scene before him made him breathe a sigh of relief. His speculation was correct; outside of DC, there truly were other universes.

Within the pitch-black space, shiny dots like colorful giant soap bubbles appeared, resembling scenes from the "Doctor Strange" movie. So, this is what the Multiverse looked like?

As one world after another flew by Su Ming, he couldn't make himself turn back but could slightly alter his direction. Dr. Manhattan's energy was both protection and impetus, allowing him to survive but preventing a return.

Fortunately, Su Ming had obtained DC's most valuable X Metal, and it was time to explore elsewhere.

He flew through space like a blue arrow, zeroing in on the fringe of each world to hear the sounds within. It felt like selecting watermelons at a market, but here he could hear the sounds without slapping them.

For instance, this somewhat darkened 'soap bubble' ahead prompted Su Ming to slow down and fly close to its edge, allowing him to hear someone shouting inside.

"Grant me strength! I am He-Man!"

Okay, this used to be a work of FA Company before DC acquired it. This universe is called the He-Man Universe.

The Cosmic Giant He-Man's world level is quite high. He-Man, his sister She-Ra, and their nemesis Skeleton King are all mighty beings traversing the universe with their physiques.

If Batman had a chance to ask He-Man that old question, He-Man's answer would certainly differ from Superman's.

He-Man: "No, I truly do not bleed."

It's not to say he's stronger than Superman. "He-Man" was originally children's literature, where neither good nor bad characters can bleed.

That lightning transformation setup seems like a kind of lineage or magic. Though powerful, it's unsuitable for Su Ming.

He bypassed this world and continued flying forward a bit.

Moving forward, actually, this space lacks any directional concept. It felt like something flew past rather than him moving or the world moving.

The next world he approached emitted a green glow. But before Su Ming could prepare, familiar background music played, and he seemed to smell canned spinach.

He turned away immediately, as there was nothing of value in this world.

World after world went by; he heard countless chaotic voices but none that were his targets.

"The ponies are all looking for their cute marks."

"Nemo, watch out for the great white shark!"

"Patrick Star, would you like to blow bubbles? Only twenty-five cents."

"Haha, playing in the mud is so fun."

"Pikachu, I choose you!"

"Watch Blue Cat, learn from Blue Cat, I'm proud of my pose!"

Su Ming's expression shifted. Had he gone in the wrong direction? Why did he feel like he was moving further from the American Comics zone?

He looked back but couldn't see the path he took. In this directionless pitch-black world, it was impossible to discern his bearings.

"Sigh, at least I know what I'm looking for. It just takes more time now."

Who knows how much time passed or how many worlds he bypassed? Su Ming finally perked up, realizing he was nearing his target.

Eventually, he spotted a massive aggregate not far above him.

It looked like a snowflake ball, with countless smaller bubbles enveloped by a large outer shell.

Such complex Multiverse Systems typically represent numerous Earths and timelines, existing in rare numbers among known entities.

The key judgment factor was the presence of another massive luminous multiverse nearby. The two world systems formed a binary star-like system, with a faintly visible Mickey Mouse face on the outer wall of the other multiverse.

"Disney Universe, huh..."

Su Ming merely glanced at it, uninterested in fairy tale princesses, and circled around it slightly to accelerate towards the Marvel Multiverse.

He always thought Marvel was right next to DC, not expecting such an arduous journey.

The closer he got, the more he realized the vastness of this Multiverse System. It was unclear whether it grew bigger or if he became smaller.

Without further thought, he collided with the transparent outer wall.

It was a thick wall, though not seeming as solid as DC's Wall of Origin, the pain and hardship in crossing it made Su Ming grit his teeth.

His armor became scorching, wounds started to split open, and he felt like being thrown into a pressure cooker, even with the protection of Dr. Manhattan's energy.

After an indeterminate time, he eventually succeeded in entering the interior of the multiverse.

The blue light on him dimmed, its energy expended in crossing the World Barrier. Yet, he had only entered the Marvel Multiverse System. He still needed to enter an exact world.

For example, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Earth-199999. The power level there wasn't high, but there were many good items.

However, the remaining energy on him flickered. He didn't have much time, and these worlds didn't have visible numeric markings.

The Marvel System encapsulated many worlds; the rights to Star Wars and Terminator were also within Marvel. Among the tens of thousands of small soap bubbles, they must exist.

DC and Marvel design their multiverses differently. Within DC's Wall of Origin are superhero worlds, whereas Marvel contains other category works here.

For instance, he heard familiar phrases from a neighboring world that looked like a glass marble.

"Inspector J and Inspector K, this mission is left to you."

This is the "Man in Black" world. There are good things in it, but now he needed a Marvel Superhero World.

He endeavored to fly deeper, likely where more complete and important worlds resided as he neared the center of the system.

But it seemed the protective energy was on the verge of vanishing. Losing protection in such uninhabited deep space would likely turn him into a popsicle like Yondu.

He could only choose a world with six bright points, likely the Infinity Stones, and plunged in.

The world rapidly expanded before him. After traversing the small world's barrier, he soared through the cosmos, the blue light on him flickering intermittently. He attempted to recharge using Dr. Manhattan's gemstone, but they were non-reactive, evidently not meant for that.

An unknown gravitational pull suddenly enveloped him, directing him to fly towards a certain direction.

He could only watch as he was guided by unknown energy across the stars and seas, through numerous nebulas and black holes, finally reaching the Milky Way Galaxy and then the Solar System, until a familiar planet came into his view.
