Chapter 169 - Chapter 141: Settling Accounts

"Are you planning to shock me? I'm a cyborg, your toy that can knock out ordinary people will just amuse me."

Su Ming calmly stretched out his hand, just like he said, Joker's electric toys were just entertainment for him.

If Joker plays tricks, just toss him into jail, and he can ask Batman for a reward—the Joker's capture fee.

"Oh, no no no, why would you doubt an old friend like me? Deathstroke, you really break my heart, hehe."

Joker pretended to wipe his tears, sneaking a peek at Su Ming through his fingers, but his peeking was so exaggerated, with all five fingers spread wide, as if afraid Su Ming wouldn't see his big eyes.

"That's good, don't waste time, once the Justice League returns, you won't be able to leave."

Su Ming isn't Batman, he doesn't have the leisure to play games with Joker, nor does he want to solve riddles or hear jokes. He just wants to get paid, find a good place to sleep, and spend the money.

Once he gets the money, he'll order two family buckets from KFC, eating one himself and giving one to Barry.

Barry was a significant help in his achievements, and Su Ming is someone who knows to return a favor, but since it's money earned from killing, Little Flash certainly wouldn't take it, so he'll give him some food instead, something that's hard to refuse.

Su Ming had a mental list of debts, not yet calculated carefully, but certainly several million US dollars. He saved the world, survived, satisfied his bloodthirsty urges from after the transformation, and made a big profit.

Even though he hasn't received the money yet, that long string of numbers made Su Ming enjoy being a mercenary even more.

Joker noticed Deathstroke seemed distracted, with blood still dripping from his shoulder, yet he was holding back a strange laugh. The laugh was a bit creepy, but it sounded genuine, and Joker happily laughed along.

"Haha, do you want to guess what it is? Here's a hint, found it in the Batcave."

"Oh? Batman's good stuff? Then give it to me, you can keep the head to play with."

Su Ming hung his gear back on his body, beckoning with his finger for him to hurry up, as he still planned to collect his debts.

"Sigh..." Joker sighed, his shoulders slumped, feeling bored since no one else was as interesting as Batman, not even playing guessing games: "Alright, here you go, I think it's a good thing."

He lightly placed a small item in Su Ming's palm. He didn't know what it was but had a feeling it was important.

This feeling made no sense, but Joker believed himself.

The most crucial part was—he liked the item, the smiley face on it was sincere, like someone high on laughing gas, putting him in a good mood.

Originally, he planned to give it as a gift to Harley, hoping they might reconcile, as his last attempt to kill her might have damaged their relationship.

A small gift might make Harley think of him, maybe even try to kill him, breaking the monotony.

But now he wanted Laughing Bat's head as a ball more, so exchanging the item with Deathstroke was also good.

However, the moment the item reached Su Ming's hand, before he could even see what it was, a blue light instantly whisked him away.

The blue light flashed and vanished, Su Ming was no longer there, leaving Joker holding the head, maintaining the gesture of giving an item.

"Uh?" Joker quickly retracted his hand. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, hmm... No mistake, but I haven't closed my eyes yet."

He loudly counted on his fingers, reassured that he still had five fingers, not four or six.

But where did Deathstroke suddenly disappear to?

"Interesting, hahahaha." He clapped his hands. A living person vanished before his eyes; it was the best show: "So you're playing hide and seek, huh? Hee hee, here I come!"

Joker started searching everywhere in the Batcave for Deathstroke, behind the burnt Brother Eye host, under the chair holding the Watcher, even inside his own shoes.

He searched everywhere.

The result was nothing; Deathstroke vanished into thin air.

"I give up, come out!"

Exhausted and panting, he couldn't find anyone and admitted defeat, wanting Deathstroke to emerge and explain how he did it, as Joker enjoyed the game and wanted to learn how to play it with Batman.

Yet no one would answer him now.

He wandered around a bit, realizing Deathstroke had left, and felt deflated.

"You left, so I should go too... Am I really leaving? Really leaving?! I'll take the head with me?"

He looked around, with only Barry and Diana still tied to stone pillars, unconscious, Laughing Bat's headless corpse unmoving, and the watcher's mouth gagged, only able to make muffled noises.

There was no other movement in the cave.

"Hahahahahaha, then I'll take that as a yes."

He lifted Laughing Bat's head, nodded in satisfaction, and prepared to leave.

But as he approached the cave entrance, he seemed to remember something, turned back, and took out a lipstick from his pocket, drawing big smiles on Diana and Barry.

Seeing the two unconscious superheroes now with happy expressions, he laughed heartily, hugging the head, and ran away quickly.

The Watcher breathed a sigh of relief, as Joker ignored him, this lunatic...

However, Joker returned once more, stuffing the lipstick into his hand.

"Hold it carefully, haha..." Joker licked his lips, like a snake flicking its tongue, teasingly tapping his chin, nervously looking at him: "Smile, smile, give me a grin."

The Watcher, gagged, his whole face distorted, couldn't possibly smile.

"Why so serious? A smile should penetrate your mind!"

Previously he heard the name Watcher, and Joker wasn't happy again, though the joy of obtaining Laughing Bat's head made him almost forget about the old man.

After all, only Batman was worthy to watch him, and this 'Watcher' sounded like a knockoff.

As annoying as Laughing Bat, and he can't even laugh!

Joker grabbed the lipstick, painting a smile on the Watcher's brain with great force, a brain can't withstand such strength.

Instantly, it looked like adding chili oil to tofu.

Chaos.

"A big...smile, very good."

Joker clapped in satisfaction, not knowing how he saw a smile amidst the mess of red and white chaos.

But he felt better, disregarded the convulsing Watcher, laughed loudly, and swaggered away into the night's darkness outside the cave.
