Chapter 129 - Chapter 102: Arriving Just in Time

The fierce underground battle between the two of them was like popcorn popping in a microwave, the vibrations could be felt on the surface.

Su Ming bent down to touch the ground, the source of the vibration wasn't far away.

The shaking quickly stopped. Without calculation, Su Ming knew Hal had lost. The lights-out procedure was just too much of a restraint for him. Although Hal was very capable of fighting, his strength all came from the Green Lantern Ring.

Su Ming removed the automatic rifle from his back, slowed his breathing to steady his heart rate, and prepared himself.

Just a few seconds later, he saw a gray-green light rise from the ground. It was the Dawn Deceit Lantern, the energy manifested from his ring was dragging Hal's legs, hanging him upside down and flying him. Hal didn't move, his face full of blood, his life or death uncertain.

Su Ming immediately took aim, a series of calculations flashed through his mind, and he calmly fired a three-round burst.

The Divine Gold bullet, ignited by the Fire God's power, flew steadily with a trail of flame towards the sky.

He accurately hit the airborne target hundreds of meters away. It wasn't clear if the Dawn Deceit Lantern was injured, but Su Ming saw it wobble and stop.

The energy supply of the Deceitful Lantern Ring was unexpectedly interrupted, and Hal fell from a great height.

"Barry, catch him!" Su Ming shouted loudly.

In fact, when Su Ming fired, Barry had already noticed the situation in the sky. When he saw someone falling, Barry immediately connected to the Divine Speed.

Dropping from such a height was difficult to catch with bare hands alone, so he returned to Su Ming's side and took Diana with him, allowing her to catch Hal in mid-air and bring him back.

Su Ming kept firing, the Dawn Deceit Lantern originally planning to pursue had to start dodging. Deathstroke's ability to predict was very strong, he could always see the guy in the sky pause repeatedly, indicating he was repeatedly hit.

Diana caught Hal. He was conscious but completely exhausted, unable to struggle.

"Hi, Diana, Barry." Hal showed his blood-stained teeth and smiled to greet the two. "You missed my concert."

"Ha, looks like you're just the warm-up dancer because our big stars haven't appeared yet." Su Ming didn't even look at him, continuing to maintain suppressive fire at the sky.

"I hate you, Slade, cough cough." Hal spat out a mouthful of blood, weakly struggling to lean against the wall beside him.

"Da da da... da da da..."

The gunshots echoed rhythmically, and Su Ming continuously changed magazines, while Diana drew her sword and shield and flew into the sky, intending at least to knock the Dawn Deceit Lantern down.

"Ka ka..."

Su Ming dropped the rifle, out of bullets. The Fire God only gave him five hundred rounds. Some had been used against the Merciless Iron Fists, and the continuous shooting just now exhausted all his reserves.

A gun without bullets is just a fire stick, now it was up to Diana, who had engaged in combat.

Diana's martial arts and strength far exceeded Hal's, and she dared to strike hard. If the Dawn Deceit Lantern got hit by Diana's sword, a fall would be inevitable. Su Ming would immediately have Barry deliver the Nightfall Greatsword.

But it seemed the Dawn Deceit Lantern understood too, and he immediately activated the lights-out procedure, plunging the whole of Binhai City into darkness.

"Slade! Hal! Where are you?" Barry immediately shouted.

"Don't shout, I'm right three meters to your left. Did you think we disappeared?" Su Ming pulled out a cigarette and calmly lit it. Strangely, he couldn't even see the flame on his own lighter.

"Uh, haha, just got a little worried, this darkness came so unscientifically." Barry scratched his head awkwardly, cautiously moved a few steps to the left.

"You're talking science with the Lantern Ring? The Green Lantern Ring, which can manifest inner thoughts into reality, I think of it as a ring-shaped magic staff." Su Ming took a puff of his cigarette and waited quietly. He wasn't worried about Diana's martial arts, since blind fighting is a skill a warrior should master.

The so-called blind fighting, in the language of the Celestial Dynasty, is to discern position by sound, at least avoiding enemy attacks shouldn't be a problem.

The premise is that Diana doesn't act impulsively and remains calm in battle.

"In brightest day, in blackest night."

"No evil shall escape my sight."

"Let those who worship evil's might."

"Beware my power, Green Lantern's light!"

The green light shone, Hal stood up supporting himself on the wall. Although his legs were as limp as noodles and his hands couldn't leave the wall, his oath gave him firm belief, and the lantern lit up again.

Su Ming nodded, the combat determination was truly strong. Looking at him, he had at least a dozen fractures and internal bleeding throughout his body, and besides that, he should have a severe concussion, yet he could still stand up.

Hal noticed the youthful face of Su Ming, but he knew this was no time for studying it, he tried to fly up, but the ring told him directly there wasn't enough energy.

This was a bit awkward, ever since integrating with the ring, he had always relied on willpower to recharge it, sending the Lantern Furnace back to Oa for maintenance as it was too troublesome.

Right now, though, his soul felt like it was about to be knocked out, his head was buzzing, and just being able to make the ring glow was fortunate enough, let alone returning to Oa to retrieve the Lantern Furnace.

"Phew... looks like we have light now." Su Ming dropped the cigarette butt and stamped it out, looked at Hal with a faint smile, which made the Green Lantern Hero very frustrated. "It's about time, Barry, where's the good stuff we brought back from Earth -11?"

"Good stuff?" Barry tilted his head, he didn't remember having any good stuff, just a Lasso of Truth that got damaged fighting the Iron Fist.

"Fear Venom, I remember I got a lot of it on the black market." Su Ming extended his hand to him.

"Uh, you call that good stuff?" Barry rummaged through his belt, handing the remaining seven or eight to Su Ming.

Using this at the right time certainly makes it good stuff, Su Ming took out a syringe and drew up all the Venom.

"Be careful, don't touch me and don't speak."

Saying that, he injected himself in the neck, and over a hundred milliliters of Venom flowed in instantly.

Fear, fear as if it were tangible.

Emotions surged directly into Su Ming's mind, his strong rational thinking almost unable to resist this overwhelming sensation, he could only feel himself start to tremble, though his mind was still clear, his body had already shown a reflex reaction.

This is human instinct, facing fear, hair standing on end, pupils contracting, adrenaline surging, muscles beginning to tremor.

Even the Modified Warrior couldn't escape it, because he was still human.

Su Ming fought fear with his rational mind, and in a daze, he found the scene before him had changed.

The fear he was confronting vanished in an instant, and he was in a pure white space.

There was no sky, there was no ground, it was all a blank slate, and he was the only existence.

He took a step forward, but nothing around him changed, he couldn't even tell if he had actually moved.

He looked at his hand, then touched the wound on his chest.

"Interesting, a consciousness space..." He found himself now at peak condition, armored and wounds all gone, he was floating naked in mid-air.

He sat down cross-legged, contemplating that something really seemed wrong with him now...
