Chapter 9 - Chapter 3: Endangered World

If this were Earth -11, then there wouldn't be any big trouble. The environment for survival would be much more relaxed, as long as you didn't provoke the Amazon Council or the female version of the Justice League, you could comfortably make money.

But if it's Earth -11, then the trouble is big. This is a world without other superheroes, only Batwoman and countless villains.

At the same time, it's a world on the brink of extinction. In the future, the entire world will be submerged due to the war between Bat Heroine and Atlantis, and the only survivor is Batwoman, who has transformed herself.

The root of the matter actually started with the Bat.

A land and sea war broke out between Atlantis and Amazon. Regarding the hegemony of this world, Briss, after gathering intelligence, believed it was due to the excessive ambition of Sea Queen Arthur. She was an anti-government schemer and a potential threat, so Briss planned to capture the Sea Queen and imprison her in Arkham.

The Atlanteans, under the pretense of peace talks, ambushed the waters near Paradise Island, while Briss took the opportunity to apprehend the Sea Queen.

However, during their fight, unfamiliar with underwater combat, Briss accidentally killed her. Afterward, the Atlanteans, of course, chose to retaliate, immediately triggering a tsunami by unknown means, completely destroying Gotham.

Gotham was gone, Briss's family and friends all perished. She went insane with revenge, undergoes special transformations to become a demon with aquatic superpowers such as underwater breathing, controlling seawater, high-speed swimming, and renamed herself—Drowned!

In the comics, she achieved the final victory in the war by controlling her infinitely replicable liquid monster pet 'Dead Water'.

Unfortunately, by then, the various disasters caused by years of war left no other life on earth. She made a Bat Lamp to shine from the sea floor to the sea surface, which became the last light of this Earth -11...

Bat Heroine Briss Vane was the child of destiny of this world, the only one destined to survive.

No, in fact, on the day Gotham was submerged, Bat Heroine died. The one who survived was not her, but the fearsome supervillain Drowned.

After destroying the world, she would heed the advice of the Laughing Bat, joining the Dark Knight Order to head to the Bright Multiverse to destroy numerous worlds.

"Justice League? Doesn't sound like a rock band." Cindy chuckled disdainfully, "Having an Amazon Council looming overhead is trouble enough, and you want to form some idol group?"

Su Ming bitterly smiled; in truth, he was merely clinging to a shred of hope as well.

Now he was in Gotham, the city that should have been submerged first. Even though his physical prowess exceeded that of ordinary people, when all land disappears and the sky is eternally covered by clouds, without food, fresh water, and sunlight, even he couldn't survive.

He had to act swiftly, find a way to leave this world soon, or find a way to keep it intact; Earth -11 is no place for a leisurely vacation but rather the front line of war.

"Then let's hope this world hasn't reached that critical point yet..." Su Ming thought. If time hadn't run out, there might still be room to struggle. So, he flicked the ashes off his cigarette again and asked Cindy once more.

"Can you tell me why you're here? On the rooftop of Wayne Tower."

Cindy flicked the ash off her cigar with the same gesture, showing a peculiar expression, "A task."

"Mind sharing the task?" Su Ming was intrigued.

"You should understand, right? I, Deathstroke, don't like collaborating with others."

Cindy took a drag of her cigar and wiped the rain off her hair. The Vayne Group's 'W' logo wasn't shielding them well. If it were the Golden Arches 'M', perhaps they'd be better off standing under it.

Su Ming chuckled, letting their single eyes meet. With excellent eyesight, he could even see his reflection in Cindy's eyes.

"Indeed, you don't like it, but if my memory serves me right, there have been a few times."

Although this memory actually came from the comics and was about the Main World's Deathstroke, Cindy's corner of the mouth twitched, leaving Su Ming unable to discern whether it was a smile or something else.

"Alright, just this once. This task has me at a loss, but you can only get a quarter, understand?"

"Money isn't the point; information is more important."

Su Ming flicked his cigarette, extending his right hand. It was just a joke; he knew he couldn't stay here long. He found himself in the Dark Multiverse, and its existence meant the grand events had already begun.

To avoid dying, he had to head to the Bright Multiverse. Earth -11 lacked many things; it wasn't the Main Plane, and some things just couldn't be done here.

"Fine, but remember you said this."

Finally, she laughed, extending her hand to shake his. He could feel the equal strength in both hands.

Without hesitation, she began to explain the current task.

"This is a search mission. Actually, I didn't want to take it, but there's been little work lately, and I just recently bought a yacht..."

She released his hand, turning to face the rain-soaked city:

"So, this task still comes from an old friend of mine..."

"Joker."

Su Ming also looked towards this dark city. She came to Wayne Tower must be looking for Batwoman, and in Gotham, the one who is most persistent in searching for Bats would undoubtedly be the Joker.
