Vivian's POV
The second those words left my lips, everything changed. Liam's gaze darted away from mine, his entire frame going rigid. I watched his jaw lock tight enough to crack teeth.
I knew exactly why I'd chosen this particular question. Because there was absolutely no way for Liam to dodge the truth this time.
Maybe I was playing dirty, but I had to know. This was my only shot at finding out if Liam really had gotten drunk with Mya like she claimed he did.
Like I told myself earlier, I was going to find a way to ask. The perfect moment had just landed in my lap.
"Liam?" I pushed again, keeping my voice soft this time.
He shoved himself back from the counter. Away from me. And instantly I understood that whatever was about to spill from his mouth would be nothing but lies.
"You did."
My heart plummeted straight through the floor, my voice trembling as I responded: "You're lying to me."
