Vivian's POV
When Liam's mother had so abruptly barged in on us, Liam immediately went after her. He pressed his lips to mine, but the magic between us had already dissolved. "Damn it," he muttered under his breath.
"Sorry, baby. I had no idea she was coming over."
I forced down the tight knot forming in my throat. "It's... it's okay. I can just..."
"I'll tell her to go," he said quietly, something intense flickering across his features. "I know she makes you uncomfortable."
My chest tightened with emotion, leaving me speechless for a moment. I couldn't quite process that Liam would actually ask his own mother to leave just to make me feel better.
"Not really..." I managed a shaky laugh. "But Liam, she's your mother. And honestly, if this marriage is going to work, I need to learn how to deal with her presence."
And not just her. Mya too.
I was going to have to accept that my aunt was his former lover and that I'd probably be seeing her around more frequently now.
