Vivian's POV

The moment Liam drove away that morning, anxiety consumed me completely. In just days, I would be face-to-face with the woman who brought him into this world.

Part of me genuinely wanted to meet her, driven purely by curiosity. But the rational part of my brain screamed that this was a terrible mistake.

Liam might be comfortable deceiving his entire family, but dishonesty wasn't exactly my strong suit. How was I supposed to convince his mother that I was madly in love with a man who remained practically a stranger to me?

"Honestly, between you and me," Grace said, settling deeper into the plush patio chair, "I doubt you'll need to do much acting at all."

We had positioned ourselves on the outdoor terrace, sipping the perfectly mixed margaritas Grace whipped up the second she arrived. I had practically begged her to come over and prevent my complete mental breakdown, because without some intervention, that's exactly where I was headed.
