The crystal's luminous liquid thinned — absorbed into the sleepers' bodies the way it always was, drawn through skin and pore and the deep channels of dormant essence systems, the final sustenance reclaimed by the flesh it had preserved. Two figures emerged from three hundred thousand years of stillness the way they'd entered it — together.
