Chapter 181: Abaddon - His Life is Like Walking on Thin Ice (Expanded)

In the Eye of Terror itself.

Abaddon stood on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit, looking down at the chaotic scene unfolding before him.

Countless green figures surged out of various Warp rifts, waving various-shaped clubs and roaring at the top of their lungs.

"Not here!! Keep looking!!"

Abaddon stared in silence. When he turned his head to the other side, on a burning Daemon World in the distance, a giant Ork Boy waved an oversized mace studded with iron nails, holding it against a daemon's neck threateningly, and stood on the Blood God's altar, roaring with triumph.

"Robbery! Hand over the god? I heard it all!"

His daemons struggled fiercely, staring at the Orks and roaring back defiantly. "The Blood God will not spare you!!!!"

"Blood for the Blood God..... Ahhhhh!!!!"

Abaddon continued staring. "...."

Turning his head again, he saw that in another plague world, countless Ork Boyz had actually sucked all the "thick soup" dry completely!

The Ork Boyz patted their bulging bellies contentedly, burped loudly, and said with satisfaction. "Burp Full now, NEZZZ STOPP."

Especially when he cast his gaze towards the entrance of the Eye of Terror, a huge Ork Fortress stood there prominently, completely blocking the way out.

What appeared to be a huge pile of junk made of haphazardly pieced-together steel plates actually carried countless high-energy turrets, enough to tear through battleship shields with ease.

Moreover, this fortress seemed to be continuously "growing" larger, as the Ork Boyz were waving welding torches and hammers around, adding more structures and weapons to it constantly.

His doorstep was blocked entirely. How could he possibly get out?! And even if he somehow got out, there were so many Primarchs present. What would he fight them with?!

A single Primarch could easily crush him with just one hand. Was his revenge truly impossible to achieve now?!

Abaddon fell into a brief daze, sighed deeply with frustration, and felt an unprecedented sense of powerlessness wash over him.

Suddenly, he reacted with realization, clapped his hands together, and murmured to himself. "Then I'll find a Primarch to help me!"

"If that doesn't work, I'll borrow some more power from Chaos? Just a little bit more!"

Thinking of this plan, he immediately strode forward with purpose, his black cloak casting a long shadow in the dimly lit servo-chamber corridor.

He absolutely had to share this important message with his good brother Khayon immediately!

However, as Abaddon stepped through the engine room door, the sight before him made him stop in his tracks. The Drukhari named Nefertari stood before Khayon, crying incessantly with emotion. "What do you even take me for? Am I a substitute?! Or what am I?!"

Khayon looked at her helplessly, unable to answer. The moment Abaddon's eyes met his gaze, Abaddon immediately walked out and closed the door behind him.

Seeing that the other person remained silent before her, Nefertari cried out loudly in despair. "Say something!"

Before Kayan could speak up, a "box" behind him, a mixture of machinery and Warp flesh, made a sound from within.

"Sister, don't blame him for this~ It's all my fault for making him take care of me!"

"If you want to blame someone, blame me instead!" As it spoke, the box was about to cry, but the distorted patterns on its surface kept changing continuously, subtly trembling as if alive and breathing.

It gave off a very eerie feeling to anyone watching. Kayan gently stroked its surface with his fingers, his eyes filled with doting affection for it.

"Look how well-behaved she is! Of course, I love you!, I only have one. It's just that she needs care right now. Soon, your sister will be fully out, then, our family can find any place to live together, and no one will disturb us anymore!"

"Don't you think so, Nefertari!" As he spoke, Khayon's eyes gleamed with visible madness. He believed in the spells of Chaos wholeheartedly, that his sister would surely grow new flesh eventually!

Seeing this display, Nefertari looked at them with disbelief, tears gradually welling up in her eyes slowly. She suddenly threw herself onto Khayon, sobbing against him.

"I love you too! We'll be together forever!"

"Me too!" the box added.

Kayan embraced Nefertari in return tightly, and the two held each other deeply, while his sister's flesh tentacles from behind also tremblingly wrapped around them both.

Inside the room, continuous muffled sobs could be heard echoing.

Outside, Abaddon had heard everything through the door, his eyes wide as saucers in shock. For a moment, he didn't even know where to begin to complain about this!

He walked out, utterly distraught by what he witnessed, constantly muttering to himself.

"Only career matters most! Pathetic Romantic entanglements are useless! Hmph !!!"

Returning alone to the cold bridge of his ship, he directed his warriors into the labyrinth deep within the Warp itself.

A dreamlike, twisted realm floated silently in the void. This was Fulgrim's labyrinthine palace.

Soon, he arrived at the labyrinth's entrance with a squad of Black Legion Terminators accompanying him. The air was filled with a sickly sweet and pungent aroma, and the ground was covered with a smooth, silk-like substance, each step echoing faintly in the stillness.

After some fighting along the way, they entered the depths of the labyrinth. Abaddon's brow furrowed slightly with concern, then he pulled up his trousers awkwardly.

Everything was too quiet, unnaturally quiet around them.

In the long corridors ahead, the laughter and moans that should have been there had long vanished completely, replaced by a deathly silence throughout.

The strange servants and succubi who once attended Fulgrim were nowhere to be seen anywhere, only empty halls and countless ornate sculptures standing forlornly in abandonment.

"Where are the people here?" a voice asked.

A Black Legion warrior whispered the question, and the others grew restless around him.

"Haha! I understand!" Abaddon declared.

His voice calmed them down again immediately, then they heard him continue with his explanation.

"It must be the heavy storms! They went somewhere else temporarily!"

"But it doesn't matter, we'll keep looking for the next one!" Abaddon was still full of fighting spirit outwardly, but as he turned away, his face darkened considerably.

How could the first one he looked for not be there? He had a bad feeling about this.

When they arrived at the holy city of the Word Bearers again, the scent of Chaos permeated the air heavily, and the twisted walls seemed to whisper secrets.

Opening the palace gates before them, they saw hundreds of Word Bearers prostrated on the ground, their bare torsos covered with symbols of Chaos everywhere.

They murmured with vacant eyes repeatedly. "Am I truly happy?"

"What is happiness?"

Seeing this sight, Abaddon's brow furrowed even deeper than before, completely unable to understand what was happening here.

He quickly hastened his steps to the central hall ahead. Then he heard an incredibly furious roar, accompanied by the clang of metal, echoing through every corner of the palace around them.

"He's plagiarizing! He has no morals at all!!!"

"Bullshit 'book of divine words'! A petty man who only copy others!!!"

"Damn it!! I'll kill you!!" Lorgar's voice was deep and violent with rage.

Abaddon. "..."

He vigorously scratched his toes nervously. This was absolutely not a good time to enter. He didn't even doubt that if he went in right now, he would immediately get a good beating from Lorgar.

He turned to the Black Legion warriors around him, giving them a stern look, and immediately said seriously to them. "What are you looking at? Who hasn't been in a bad mood before!"

"He needs some quiet now! Do you understand?!"

And when he arrived at Nurgle's Garden again, he saw Nurglings diligently restoring the garden with care.

Abaddon. "...What the hell i going on?"

He kept scratching the soles of his feet anxiously. He never expected his luck to be this bad today!

He sighed to the heavens above, somewhat lost in thought, and said with resignation. "Perhaps, today is not suitable for us to..."

Before he could finish his sentence completely, a whisper of Chaos reached his ears clearly. "Complete my plan, and I shall grant you power~"

Instantly, the previously despondent Abaddon perked up with energy, roaring to his men. "Brothers! All those past events were me tempering your character. We are immediately executing the real plan! Follow me right now!!"

On Terra

Smoke billowed over Terra's horizon line, and the air was thick with the smell of machine oil and scorched earth everywhere.

Mechanized soldiers surged like a tide towards the Salamanders' defenses, their bodies gleaming with cold silver light, their energy weapons spewing deadly beams continuously.

Only, they ran into him directly. Vulkan roared out loud.

"I was Born in fire of Nocturne, forged on the anvil of War! All who defile Terra must step over my body first!!"

"Come face your death TRAITORS!!" Then his warhammer slammed down hard, and a lava-like shockwave instantly engulfed the front-most enemy forces, incinerating their steel casings into molten metal instantly.

The Salamanders' flamers spewed scorching flames forward, igniting the bodies of the mechanized soldiers completely.

The entire battlefield was covered in fire and black smoke, with fierce fighting unfolding in every corner of the warzone.

At the same time, the Custodes also faced the assault of mechanized soldiers head-on.

"The Emperor is behind us!"

"For the Emperor!!!"

The new Captain-General of the Custodes, Trajann Valoris, raised his Guardian Spear high, leaped up into the air, and pierced the core of a mechanical walker precisely. Every one of his strikes was incredibly precise, as if he had calculated every move of the enemy beforehand.

The Custodians' golden armor reflected a fierce light across the battlefield. They used their bodies to block the enemy's advance, not allowing a single mechanical soldier to breach the defensive line.
