Chapter 179 - Chapter 178: Are You Happy?

Chapter 178: Are You Happy?

The eldest orc prophet stepped forward, brandishing a staff adorned with bone ornaments and chains, and roared in a hoarse voice.

"They were just hungry and went to eat! Let's keep praying! Waaaaaaaagh!"

"Waaaagh!" The other orc prophets roared in unison, letting out a deafening shout.

As they continued their prayers, the familiar green light surged through the air once more, and the temperature inside the temple rose rapidly. The prophets' expressions grew even more fanatical, and they even began to tear at their leather armor and clothing.

"Give us strength!" they shouted at the top of their lungs.

However, this time the light was too dazzling.

Bang!

The head of the prophet, standing in the very center of the circle, exploded like a ripe fruit, green blood and bone fragments splattering all around, the remains blooming like a bloody firework display.

"Huh? How come he..." Before the other prophet could finish shouting, his own head exploded.

Immediately afterward, the heads of all the orc prophets surrounding the pedestal exploded one after another, and green blood and entrails rained down all over the temple.

Bang bang bang!

The popping sounds rose and fell, like upbeat jazz music.

"Who turned off the light! Turn the light back on! I can't see!" one headless prophet shouted.

"Me too!" another yelled.

"Holy crap, where's my head?" a third wondered aloud.

The orc warriors, who had just heard the commotion, ran in, stared at them in bewilderment, and roared, "Waaaaagh! How are you all dead?!"

As soon as he finished speaking, all the prophets fell down on the ground.

In an instant, the news that all the prophets were dead and that Brother Mork had disappeared spread throughout the camp!

"All the prophets are dead! What do we do?!" a young orc boy with a rusty iron bar in his mouth shouted anxiously.

"I'll just become a prophet!" another orc declared.

As he spoke, the orc picked up a stick and was about to roar.

Bang!

He turned around and was knocked over by a stone thrown by another orc, who roared, "Looks like he's not a prophet!"

"Bullshit! I am the prophet!" the first orc shouted back.

In the center of the camp, an orc angrily swung his iron hammer, accidentally smashing a fuel barrel next to him. With a loud bang, flames shot into the sky.

The other orc hurriedly picked up a bucket to extinguish the fire, but unfortunately, the bucket was filled with oil.

Rumble!

A smaller orc roared, "Mork's back! We need to give him a big explosion!" After saying that, he kicked over the ammunition box next to him, sparks flew everywhere, and the surrounding orcs were so frightened that they scrambled to their feet.

Meanwhile, in a corner of the camp, an orc with chicken feathers stuck in his head climbed onto a high platform, brandishing a rusty battle axe and roaring.

"I am the new Mork and Gork! You all have to listen to me..." Before he could finish speaking, he felt a tightness in his buttocks and collapsed to the ground in pain.

Then an orc boy appeared behind him, his face full of awe. "No! You're not! They don't have butts!"

Ullanor was in complete chaos, and the once unified, massive Waaaaaagh power was gradually dissipating.

On a planet in ruins, Corax stood on a discarded steel beam, his cloak billowing in the wind like the night sky. His heavy bolter pistol gleamed coldly from its dark muzzle.

Bang bang bang!

Heavy bolts flew out, aimed directly at the gaps in the Squiggoth's armor.

One bolt struck the giant beast's arm joint, exploding in a shower of sparks. The massive body slammed into the orc leader, who fell to the ground and roared in pain.

"If you're so capable, let's fight in close combat!" the orc bellowed.

"Damn it! All that flying around is so annoying!"

However, Corax remained silent, seeing the other party as nothing more than a moving green lump of flesh.

"I'm not fighting anymore! I'm not fighting anymore! How boring!" The orc leader rolled on the ground, pulled out a dimensional shock gun, and teleported himself and the Squiggoth away.

A moment later, the Raven Guards arrived, shouting, "Lord Primarch, the orcs are fighting among themselves, even the ork moon has disappeared!"

Corax sat up in confusion.

On the planet Australn, wearing a black cloak, Erebus slowly walked into the streets of the lower hive city.

This region had long been known for its dark, damp, and foul-smelling environment, with streets filled with the smell of decay and piles of garbage, and the poor looking pale and hopeless.

If it weren't for his divine command to spread chaos, he would never have come to such a place again. After all, people's minds were most easily distorted in places like this.

However, when he stepped into this area, the situation was not as he had imagined.

He instinctively held his breath, but the air around him was not as heavy and foul as he remembered. Instead, it was fresh and pleasant.

Erebus stopped in his tracks, staring at both sides of the street, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. The scene before him was simply unbelievable.

The streets that were once piled with rotting garbage and rubble were now spotless and tidy. The puddles and mud had long since disappeared, and there was not a single piece of debris on the road. The smooth stone slabs were neatly laid out, as if they had been thoroughly swept. Although it wasn't fragrant, at least it didn't smell bad!

The buildings on both sides of the street were no longer dilapidated, but had been repaired and were now well-maintained, at least no longer in a state of disrepair.

Erebus also noticed that the people on the street had rosy complexions and genuine smiles on their faces.

How is that possible!

He quietly followed a few residents to a shrine. He could hear the pastor preaching from afar.

"The Eleventh Divine Son has declared that when each soul offers a measure of devotion, the Imperium is strengthened thereby. Let all remember this truth. Attend the place of observance in due rotation."

"On each third standard cycle, between the seventh and ninth hour, the faithful may partake in the Rite of Communion. The will and blessing of the Eleventh Divine Son grants this sacrament."

"Sustenance shall be issued to all who attend: one ration-plate of synth-ova, distributed in His name."

Upon hearing this, Erebus stared at the scene in shock.

Just then, a man walked by, holding a book and studying the doctrine, but the words sounded very familiar. He snatched the book from the other person, ignoring their voice, and began to read it on his own.

"Isn't this the Book of the Holy Word?! How did it turn into a book of divine pronouncements?!"

Erebus was shocked. Could this really be done?

Before he could even react, the other person had taken the book back and was about to leave when he was stopped by Erebus. The man was annoyed that Erebos had interrupted him.

"Do you provide artificial eggs? Do you offer communion? Do we get paid for our work?" The other party asked three questions in a row, which annoyed Erebus.

He said angrily, "How can you use these material things to measure faith?! God will grant you eternal life! God will grant you endless joy! God will..."

Unfortunately, the resident immediately raised their hand to stop him. "No! The Eleventh Divine Child said that if you feel this life is too bitter, you should wait for the next life. After death, your soul will return to the Divine Emperor, and that will be the true paradise!"

"As for happiness, the Eleventh Divine Child also said that when you encounter such a jerk, you must confront him. Life is inherently suffering! Because truly happy people don't have the time to ask others if they're happy!"

The resident then turned to Erebus and asked, "So, are you happy?"

After saying this, he walked to the sanctuary, to the statue of Francis, and touched his knees in prayer.

"I!" Erebus began.

"Am I... happy?"

"I should be very happy! Why am I not happy! I..." As Erebus spoke, a look of confusion appeared in his eyes, and he began to mutter to himself.

Am I really happy?

Even after returning to the subspace, he still hadn't figured it out. He didn't even notice the two extra planets at the entrance to the Eye of Terror.

Upon returning to headquarters, as he entered the palace, the Word Bearer Kor Phaeron jumped out and mocked him.

"How could our great Erebus, the Manifestor, also have a day of failure?"

"You..." Before he could finish speaking, Erebus looked at him blankly and asked, "Are you happy?"

Kor Phaeron stared in confusion. "???"

Like a plague, all those who came into contact with Erebus fell silent.

Are you happy?

Even when Lorgar appeared in front of him, he still said the same thing. "Are you happy?"

Lorgar. "...."

"What is wrong with you? Wake up!" Lorgar's voice, carrying the power of chaos, instantly brought Erebus's consciousness back.

After he told the other person everything he had seen and heard, Lorgar looked at him, bewildered. "Um? Well...!"

....

In the High Lords' Council Hall of Terra, the magnificent building exuded solemnity and majesty, while sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows onto the floor, outlining the intricate patterns of the Imperial coat of arms.

Around the conference table, the high lords were arguing incessantly, their voices rising and falling, filled with anger and discontent.

"A meteorite! Led the Astartes Legion to quell the rebellion?" one high lord exclaimed.

"What do we do now?! Sanguinius isn't even human! Will he really be loyal to Imperium?!" another added.

A high lord slammed his fist on the table and stood up, speaking with barely suppressed rage. "I suggest locking him up!"

Another high lord sneered, retorting without any politeness. "Then send your own men to arrest them! Our Imperial Navy won't interfere! Isn't it clear enough from the hologram how powerful he is?"

"You're scared already?" a third high lord taunted.

The third high lord suddenly stood up, pointed at his opponent, and shouted, "Let me do it! I'll fight him one-on-one!"

Malcador sat in his seat and rubbed his temples, his headache throbbing. "...."

This is the kind of idiot who deserves to be in a museum!

It was at this moment that the High Lord of the Cult of the Machine God, clad in a dark red robe, stood. The light of his metal prosthetic limbs gleamed in the hall's lamplight, his mechanical tentacles swaying slightly and emitting a low clicking sound.

He slowly walked to the center of the conference table, his movements mechanical and cold, his gaze fixed on Malcador.

Malcador stared sharply at him, a sense of foreboding rising within him. What are you going to do?

The High Lord of the Cult of Machines remained silent, simply continuing to approach him until he was only a few meters away.

Malcador instantly understood something. His pupils contracted slightly, and his spiritual energy surged within him.

"Retreat!" he roared in a low voice, and his figure suddenly disappeared from the spot, instantly teleporting dozens of meters away.

However, the next second, a tremendous explosion erupted in the High Lords Council Hall!
