Chapter 154 - Chapter 153: Worm Man

Chapter 153: Worm Man

Sanguinius flew through the sky, while countless psychic flames shot from behind him, continuously bombing the monsters attempting to seize his sons.

The moment the flames touched the monsters, they let out incredibly shrill screams. The tentacles outside twisted wildly, directly flinging the Blood Angels warriors away.

The Blood Angels, still fighting on the ground, swallowed hard at the sight before them.

"Gulp... Is that still Father?"

"I don't know, probably! Such terrifying power!"

"He feels even stronger than the Emperor!"

The moment this warrior spoke, he received a harsh smack on the back of his head. He turned to see a veteran glaring at him, then growling, "That's traitorous! Even if it's true, you can't say it out loud!"

The other Imperial soldiers, witnessing this, knelt down even more devoutly, their eyes filled with worship, muttering incoherently.

"It's an angel! It really is an angel!"

"The Angel of the Imperium has come to save us!"

"The Emperor is the true God!"

At this moment, Sanguinius seemed to enter an incredibly profound state. He could feel the Warp's power endlessly surging into his body, then transforming into flames and erupting from the eyes behind him.

Dozens of giant monsters began to emit cries of anguish, like wailing infants, but in their eyes, this only made it more terrifying.

Endless flames incinerated the monsters into ash, and they never revived. However, there were still over a dozen such monsters.

Meanwhile, the figures in the shadows quietly retreated, as if this was merely part of their plan. They boarded warships emblazoned with the Eternal Syndicate's emblem and fled the area.

At the same time, another group of the same xenos appeared on Cadia, just as Francis was preparing to take Magnus to the Blackstone Fortress.

Among the distant ruins, eerie figures gradually emerged. Their appearance was nauseating, their bodies slick and twisted, covered in tentacles and scales, leaving unsettling trails. They slowly approached alongside figures of cultists, the latter wearing blood-stained robes, their eyes gleaming with almost fanatical light.

One of the xenos leaders raised his head and pulled out a fresh human head from behind him. As the worms on his hand continuously burrowed into the head, the skull seemed to come alive, its eyes constantly rolling, its mouth emitting grunting sounds.

It seemed to be trying to debug this "part," taking one Terra minute until it could finally be used normally.

Operating the head, it shouted loudly, "Francis, have you forgotten the hatred for the Rak'Gol's extinction?"

"If you want to know the truth, come find us in the Calixis Sector!"

The sound quickly traveled through the air to the Imperial platform several kilometers away, where Francis was currently resting a hand on Magnus's shoulder, envisioning a bright future.

When they heard it, Francis stared in confusion. Magnus looked baffled. The Imperial soldiers froze in shock.

After shouting, the xenos intended to flee, immediately boarding their warship to escape.

Francis paused for a moment, then quickly patted Magnus and pointed at the warship.

Just as this group thought their mission was perfectly accomplished, they suddenly realized that their warship not only hadn't flown out of Cadia but was also flying in the opposite direction.

"What's going on! Why can't we move!"

"Can you still move?"

"No!"

"What's happening!"

The xenos leaders communicated ceaselessly in their language, because they wanted to move but found themselves bound, standing motionless in place.

Magnus simply grabbed with his hand, and a massive psychic force directly enveloped the warship, which he was slowly dragging back.

"Tsk! It truly is you, psychic power is so convenient. I'll have to study it myself later." Francis watched this scene. Originally, he had intended for Magnus to simply shoot them down, but he hadn't expected such a method.

Hearing this, Magnus puffed out his chest, saying proudly, "This isn't knowledge about psychic power from the Imperium."

"Rather, it's the fruit of my diligent study during those days I sat on the Golden Throne. I've already comprehended something even better!"

At this point, Magnus couldn't help but recall those painful memories. He sat on the Golden Throne, psychic energy like a raging torrent forcibly drawn from his body, every nerve, every muscle trembling in agony.

It was simply a torture device.

Yet, under such circumstances, he could feel the rhythm of the Warp, feel himself being pulled into a deeper realm, a place ordinary psykers could not reach.

Perhaps pain was the threshold to power.

He continuously grasped the essence of the Warp, and he seemed to gradually understand everything.

But just as he was immersed in a crucial moment, Father abruptly pulled him from the Throne. The feeling was like stopping halfway through something euphoric, suddenly ceasing.

Such an opportunity was rare and truly a pity.

"Sigh!" Magnus shook his head in frustration. He didn't blame Father, it was just that such an opportunity was truly hard to come by.

But what he found even more unexpected was that Father had only gone out for a short while and returned so terrifyingly powerful. Even he dared not easily look directly at Father's appearance in the Warp.

However, it didn't matter. At least among his brothers, his psychic power was definitely the strongest, and Francis must surely admire him now.

Soon, I'll say, "I'll teach you." That will definitely mesmerize him.

Magnus emerged from his memories.

"I'll teach you..." Before he could finish speaking, he saw that Francis's shadow was long gone from beside him. He looked left and right but didn't see the other's figure.

Bang!

With a loud bang, the warship in his hand had already been blown open by Francis. Behind him, the xenos and cultists were being dragged out one by one.

"Francis, we're on the same side!"

"How can you treat your allies like this!"

"You'll be finished sooner or later if you stick with the Imperium!"

They struggled and shrieked, but the Blackstone fiber ropes seemed to have a will of their own, binding them tightly.

"Stop trying to get chummy! I already have an inheritance; I'd be crazy to start a business with you!" Francis snapped. With a pull, those creatures and humans attempting to break free were immediately bound even more tightly by the ropes, as screams rose and fell.

Because the ropes were covered in sharp spikes that constantly emitted plasma, the smell of burning protein spread with it.

Magnus stared in silence.

"Oh, right! What did you just say?" Francis scratched his ear, looking at Magnus.

"Uh... nothing, what was that Rak'Gol thing? It sounds a bit familiar." Magnus didn't bring up the previous matter again. He subconsciously sensed danger.

When he said that, Francis immediately leaned his face close to him and said with extreme seriousness, "Adult matters, children shouldn't meddle!"

Magnus "..."

After handing the cultists over to the Soul Drinkers for experiments on the relationship between psychic power and the pineal gland, Francis and Magnus took the remaining xenos to the interrogation room.

Upon seeing the silver prisoner's chair in the center of the room, as if by some magic, the xenos leader very naturally sat down and mumbled something in authentic language.

"Regret! Deep regret!" The other xenos were tied up in the corner.

Francis and Magnus sat at the interrogation table at the front of the room, having the Sisters of Silence tidy up the table.

"Begin!" Francis said coldly. "Speak! What is your relationship with Rak'Gol? What are you doing here, provoking us!"

Then the maggots on the xenos leader's face twisted continuously, emitting sounds like insect calls.

Francis and Magnus stared at each other in disbelief. What was this? This was blatant provocation! They'd been captured, and they still weren't cooperating!

Francis immediately grew angry, slamming his hand on the table with a bang and shouting, "You have no right to remain silent; everything you say will be used as evidence in court!"

"Confess and be treated leniently, resist and be punished severely!"

"As long as you confess honestly, we can consider a lighter sentence!"

Hearing this, Magnus quietly asked, "Isn't that bad! They're xenos. If they confess, will you let them go?"

"How could I! At most, it'll change from dying in immense pain to dying in moderate pain. I'm already being very humanitarian."

"I won't even grind their bones to dust; their bodies will lie perfectly intact in my laboratory. Hmm, isn't it wonderful!" Francis leaned in and whispered into Magnus's ear.

Hearing this, Magnus's mind went blank, his eyes filled with horror.

The xenos leader and his companions fell silent. In reality, the xenos' hearing was also very good.

When they turned their heads, they saw the maggots on the xenos leader's face twitching even more frequently, emitting an even louder buzzing sound.

Magnus, seeing this, immediately reacted and said to Francis, "Eleventh Brother, look! He's still provoking us!"

"He clearly doesn't respect us two brothers; we must teach him a lesson!" Hearing this, the other party twitched even more frequently, letting out a sharp screech.

Unfortunately, in Magnus's eyes, this was an escalation of provocation. With a grab, an immense force clenched the opponent tightly.

Puff puff puff!

The worms on the opponent's body continuously burst out.

"Screech!" Letting out an even more piercing scream, the xenos in the corner, seeing this, all curled up together.

Magnus released his grip.

"Stop! You'll never get him to talk like this."

The xenos leader was instantly moved to tears of acid, and the immense force on his body also disappeared.

"Let's try my method! Your technique is too brutal; it will make us seem like the Imperium is a very crude race." With Francis's voice, the xenos leader's heart surged with excitement, clearly seeing his ally as reliable.

"We should maximize our resources; they are all wild coins in the Imperium's hands."

"We can't waste them!"

As he spoke, the Soul Drinkers brought in a large instrument from outside. Then the xenos leader saw the instrument's huge mechanical arm begin to pluck the maggots from his body one by one.

"SCREEECHHH!!" The xenos leader let out the most agonizing scream of his life.
