Chapter 145: Beast War
"Prioritize the Ork Boyz!"
"Initiate the decapitation strike!"
Imperial Fists Legion Master Cassius Morhan commanded loudly, tearing apart a charging Ork Boy with his chainsword. His yellow power armor was covered in green blood, but he did not flinch.
"Everyone, focus fire on the largest Ork Boyz!"
"Report to Terra and the Primarch!"
Just then, a massive Ork Boss stepped out from a crashed spacecraft. He was covered in heavy battle armor, adorned with giant skulls on his shoulders, and wielded a massive chainsword in his hand.
"Fight, good! Waaaaaaaaagh!"
The Ork Boss roared, and the Ork Boyz became even more frenzied, charging toward the Imperial lines with greater madness while also attacking the Chrome Beast hordes.
"Holy Terra! The books didn't say he was this big!"
"He's three times bigger than a regular greenskin!"
An Imperial Guard soldier shouted. Perhaps his voice was too loud, as scattered Ork spores fell into his mouth. Within two minutes, they exploded, spewing out a pile of Ork Boyz.
Sol System
The previously calm deep space suddenly erupted with massive Ork Attack Moons! These Attack Moons varied in size, each exuding a rough and chaotic aura.
The defense stations in Terra's orbit were the first to detect this phenomenon.
"No, how did they appear?!"
"What's going on with the defense stations outside the Sol System?!"
An Imperial officer stared at the radar screen, his pupils contracting sharply. Within seconds, all defense networks in the Sol System were alerted.
Planet 154-6
Here, the Salamanders Primarch Vulkan had once carried out a campaign alongside the Night Lords.
On the land covered in volcanic ash, the Salamander warriors worked together, planting saplings into the ground one by one. Giant planters rumbled, carrying resilient life seeds across the scorched plains.
Vulkan stood by a lake of lava, his tall figure like a moving fortress, his green power armor etched with the Salamanders' insignia. He lowered his head, gazing at a newly planted sapling, his thick fingers gently touching its leaves, a rare calm in his eyes.
"They will survive," Vulkan said in a low voice that rumbled like thunder as the leaves swayed continuously in the wind.
Suddenly, the golden Ork phone rang.
Puru-Purur~
The warriors stopped their work and looked up at Vulkan.
He answered. "Several Ork Attack Moons have appeared out of nowhere in the Sol System," Malcador's voice came from the other end of the phone.
Vulkan was silent for a moment, his gaze sweeping over the Salamanders before him and the newly planted saplings.
"A green tide has appeared in the Sol System. Salamanders, move out!" He took a deep breath and said.
"Primarch, should we switch entirely to phosphex weapons this time?" A Salamander's warrior stepped forward, his armor still covered in mud, his voice hoarse but respectful.
"Let's stick to half rad and half phosphex. That way, they'll suffer a little less." Vulkan shook his head, crimson eyes showing pity.
...
In deep space, on a battleship sailing silently through the star sea, there was quiet on the bridge in the dim light, only the soft glow emanating from Konrad Curze's private cabin.
Konrad Curze lay on his bed, eyes closed in contemplation, the content of an audiobook constantly playing in his ears.
"Doctor! I'm sick, my shoulder is very uncomfortable!"
"Oh? What did you shoulder before?"
"I shouldered an entire business empire!"
"..."
"Doctor! My heart is also uncomfortable."
"Hmm?"
"My heart...it holds you~."
"..."
The more Konrad Curze listened, the tighter his brow furrowed, until he could no longer bear it. After picking up the device, he realized he had selected the wrong file. This was "Overbearing CEO, Love Fiercely!"
Just as he was about to change to another novel, the cabin door suddenly opened, and a Night Lords warrior burst in, completely enveloped in black power armor.
"Primarch, urgent intelligence! A large number of Ork Attack Moons have appeared in the Sol System!" He half-knelt on the ground, his tone urgent.
Before Konrad Curze could speak, he heard the device continue to play.
"I do! Xiao Tian, I do want to marry you~~~."
At this moment, time and space seemed to freeze.
Konrad Curze: "..."
Night Lords warrior: "..."
"Actually, I..."
Before Konrad Curze could finish, the warrior immediately ran out, shouting, "Primarch, what are you saying? I can't hear you~~~."
Konrad Curze's forehead immediately bulged with several veins, and he growled angrily, "It's all the Ork's fault! I'm going to kill them all!"
Soon, the battleship's massive engines began to roar deeply, and the battleship turned toward the Sol System.
Blackstone Fortress - Control Room
In the control room, the Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-Priests filed in, clad in crimson mechanical robes. They stared intently at the control console, then all knelt down, beginning to chant low prayers.
"Praise the Omnissiah, grant us wisdom!" The Tech-Priests raised their mechanical staves, the tips emitting faint electric arcs.
"Such a complex design. It doesn't seem like Imperial technology, but rather something xenos." Cawl continuously scanned the control console's surface, emitting electronic noise and whispers.
"For the safety of the Imperium, how about you let me keep it?"
Francis sat nearby. "..."
UR-025: "..."
"You guys figure it out first! Giving this thing to you would be a waste of good resources." Francis changed his posture, hugging UR-025.
Looking at his strange behavior, Cawl was somewhat puzzled, but studying this fortress was the most important thing.
The Tech-Priests began analyzing the control console with various instruments and scanning beams swept back and forth between the walls and the console, emitting piercing electronic screeches. Every data display was as confusing as garbled code.
"Its energy level is enormous. If it's a space fortress, then it's truly perfect!" A Tech-Priest stood up, his voice trembling with a metallic quality.
"This is more like some kind of energy regulation hub, but its purpose is still unclear." Cawl looked up, his gaze sharp.
After several Terran hours of analysis and speculation, the Adeptus Mechanicus still could not fully decipher the purpose and control methods of the Blackstone Fortress. Their chanting gradually grew tired, the electronic recitations tinged with frustration.
"Perhaps we need more time," Cawl said in a low voice, several voices simultaneously emanating from different devices within his body.
"Sigh, I'll just do it myself then." Francis sighed, then picked up some broken fragments from the ground and strung them together. A device similar to a remote control appeared in his hand.
"Don't mess around. This thing isn't even from this fortress. It won't be that easy to control." Cawl frowned. He had thought there was a good solution.
"Please print me an operation manual, in High Gothic." As Francis shouted this at the remote control, the control room instantly rumbled.
"Ah?!" Cawl found it incomprehensible, and the other Tech-Priests also looked at him in confusion.
Then a mechanical arm holding a black slate came before Francis.
Francis took the instruction manual, went to the control console, and his fingers moved continuously over it.
"This should be it!" Finally, he pressed down.
Suddenly, the entire Blackstone Fortress vibrated violently, and the surrounding walls began to emit an intense green light. The Blackstone Fortress accelerated abruptly, tearing through the barrier of reality and forcefully intruding into the Warp.
The external scenery was immediately replaced by a distorted purple-red storm, with various eerie daemon forms roaring in the distance, waving illusory claws as they tried to grasp the colossal object.
Seeing this scene, they hurriedly shouted, "Quick, go! The daemons are about to get in!"
"If this place gets corrupted, we're finished!"
Francis also felt his scalp tingle. He hadn't expected this instruction manual to be in archaic High Gothic! He only understood half of it; the other half of the grammar he hadn't seen. It seemed it wasn't pure Gothic at all.
"Whoa! Hold on tight, I'm about to operate it!" Francis roared, looking at the similar buttons, and pressed them all down.
Whoosh!
Instantly, Francis felt his brain remain in place while the fortress had already flown out! And at incredible speed, it passed directly through the Warp storm! Massive green flames directly incinerated the daemons near the fortress into charcoal.
Just as Francis breathed a sigh of relief, the Soul Drinkers hurriedly shouted, "Primarch! There's a planet ahead! We can't avoid it!"
"Let's go back quickly!"
Francis looked up and saw a massive daemon world close by. He hurriedly pressed the fire button.
Eight green energy beams shot out from the eight-pointed star fortress.
Boom!
One of the beams instantly struck the daemon world, and the planet, like popcorn, instantly expanded and exploded!
"The instruction manual didn't mention a speed limit..." Before Francis could finish, the entire Blackstone Fortress, as if throwing a tantrum, rampaged through the Warp like a giant eight-spoked wheel, exploding planets everywhere.
The eight light beams continuously swept across the surrounding daemon worlds, and the daemons on the planets scattered and fled, their screams echoing throughout the Warp.
"Damn it! They won't even leave me alone on my day off!"
"Damn it! I've already retired as a daemon, how can this still happen!"
"..."
After continuously destroying dozens of daemon worlds, the Blackstone Fortress seemed to be drained. It instantly passed through the Warp, reappearing in its original location. The entire Blackstone Fortress, as if exhausted, quietly stopped there.
Bang, bang, bang!
Everyone fell from the ceiling of the control room, one by one, all crashing to the ground.
Just as the Tech-Priests were about to rush forward, Cawl stopped them. He gestured toward Francis. "This fortress is transmitting encrypted information to him!"
The Tech-Priests who saw this scene all prayed madly with envy.
However, what Francis saw before his eyes was a dark expanse of space illuminated by dazzling green light, with countless Necron warships surging in a swarm, closely pursuing several star-shining figures.
