Kassie's breath grew uneven, almost ragged, as she hovered above me. Her thighs tightened around my hips, muscles flexing with barely restrained instinct. The warmth of her body seeped through every weak point in mine, pulling me deeper into a fire I shouldn't have had the strength to feel.
She wasn't trembling anymore.
She was shaking.
Not with fear — with something raw, overwhelming, and unrestrained. Something she was trying, and failing, to control.
Her fingers dug lightly into my chest, not enough to hurt, but enough to show that if she lost herself just a fraction more, she might forget how delicate I was right now. Her hair fell forward like a red curtain, brushing my jaw, tickling my cheek, enclosing us in a space meant only for two.
"Why…" She swallowed hard, her lips brushing mine with every shaky breath. "Why do you make me feel like this?"
