Chapter 4. Test results
The next day, the
The girls began to feel uneasy as they sat down in class waiting for the test results to be announced. Immediately Mr Martins came in to announce the results every one went silent,
Mr. Martins cleared his throat before speaking. "Alright, students. I'll be announcing the test results now. Please remain calm and respectful."
The classroom was silent, with all eyes on Mr. Martins. Isabelle held her breath, her heart racing with anticipation.
"And the student with the lowest score is..." Mr. Martins paused, looking at the paper in his hand. "Isabelle Coker."
Isabelle's eyes widened in shock. She felt a chill run down her spine as she heard her name. Anna and Diane looked at her with concern, their faces pale.
"What does this mean?" Isabelle whispered to Anna.
Anna's voice was barely audible. "It means you have to...you know."
Isabelle's eyes widened in horror. She knew what Anna was implying. According to the rumor, the student with the lowest score would...
Isabelle's mind was racing. She couldn't believe this was happening. She looked at Mr. Martins, hoping that he would say something, anything, to change the outcome. But he just stood there, his face expressionless.
The classroom remained silent, with all eyes on Isabelle. The air was filled with tension, and Isabelle could feel the weight of the moment bearing down on her.
She ran out of the class, Anna ,Diane, Clara and George followed her. Isabelle waited and shouted running after her… they caught up with her under the mango tree beside their class room, I'm I gonna die she said looking at the both. Noo you will not, not under my watch George said holding Isabelle tightly…
Girls I know about everything that's going on and that's why I came to this school
George's words brought a mix of shock and curiosity. "What do you mean?" Isabelle asked, her voice shaking slightly. George's grip on her tightened, a reassuring gesture. "I've been investigating the strange occurrences here. I think I know what's behind the deaths and the symbols." Anna and Diane exchanged a skeptical glance. "How do we know we can trust you?" Anna asked, her tone cautious. George's expression turned determined. "Because I'm willing to risk everything to expose the truth. And I think Isabelle's situation might be the key to unraveling it all." Clara's eyes widened. "What do you plan to do?" George's eyes locked onto Isabelle's. "We need to work together to uncover the truth and find a way to stop whatever is happening here. We can't do it alone." Isabelle felt a glimmer of hope. Could George be the ally she needed to survive this nightmare? "Okay," she said, her voice firm. "Let's do it." Together, they formed an unlikely alliance, determined to confront the darkness lurking within the school. But as they made their pact, the symbol on Isabelle's desk seemed to loom larger, a constant reminder of the danger that lay ahead.
"First, we need to gather evidence," George said, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I've found some clues already, but we need to be careful. The principal and some teachers seem to be involved in covering up the truth." Anna nodded. "We've noticed that too. They always seem to know more than they're letting on." Diane frowned. "But what about the symbol? What does it mean?" George hesitated before speaking. "I think it's a sign of a dark ritual. The students who die might be sacrificed to some kind of dark entity." Isabelle shuddered. "That's terrifying." Clara's voice trembled. "What can we do to stop it?. "We'll dig deeper, gather more evidence, and expose the truth. We can't let them silence us." As they spoke, the atmosphere around them grew heavier, as if the darkness itself was listening. Suddenly, the school's bell rang, signaling the end of the break. "We should get back to class," Anna said, her voice low. George nodded. "But let's meet up tonight, in secret. We can't waste any time." Isabelle felt a surge of resolve. With George's help, she might just survive this nightmare after all. Together, they nodded in agreement, ready to face whatever lay ahead. But as they walked back to class, Isabelle couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched, and that the darkness was closing in.
As they parted ways to head back to their respective classes, Isabelle couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The darkness seemed to be closing in around them, and she wondered if they were doing enough to uncover the truth.
