She looked at me and chuckled. "You're smarter than I thought." She nodded in satisfaction.
"Then why can't she trust me?"
"Not her fault, son. You've been apart for many years and she has no idea what you're capable of."
"That's not right. If she can't even trust me…"
"Don't say that. Did you trust her years ago? You broke up with her without even confronting her, hating her for no reason."
I couldn't say anything. That statement was like a knife in my chest. I should have asked her, but anytime I thought about it, I regretted it. I didn't even want to get close to her at that time because of my grandparents.
"So the wedding is holding tomorrow?" she asked in amusement.
I nodded and sighed. "Don't give me that look. I've already done what we're supposed to do to her. I just want to crown her."
"So impatient," she murmured.
Then I rose. "I want you to help me keep eye on her. She's acting suspicious."
