Chapter 430 - Chapter 428: The Sorting Hat's Eye for People Is Truly Accurate

Just as a few of them were about to enter the Auditorium, Kael suddenly stopped. He looked at Fred and George beside him and suddenly asked, "Do you have the Marauder's Map on you?"

"Of course." Fred casually pulled out a piece of parchment from his pocket, "We always carry this thing with us. What's up?"

"Nothing much, can I borrow it for a bit?" Kael said, "I might need to use it."

"Go ahead and take it." Fred didn't mind as he stuffed the Marauder's Map into Kael's hands and then headed towards the Gryffindor long table.

"We have plenty of ideas, but it's too late today; let's talk next time," George said, quickly catching up.

If it were usual days, they might have been curious about what plan Kael had, whether he was going to sneak around at night. But now, after being hungry all day, the two only wanted to quickly eat something, even if it was just a cold boiled potato.

Kael put away the Marauder's Map and went to the other side of the Hufflepuff long table.

...

After dinner, Kael went straight back to the dormitory and opened the Marauder's Map, carefully examining the names coming and going on it.

Now there's less than a week left before school holidays. He doesn't know what Sirius Black is thinking, but if he wants to catch Peter, this week is his last chance.

Of course, he could also wait until the holiday to make a move. Ottery St Catchpole doesn't have Dementors, nor Dumbledore and the professors. Acting there is certainly much safer than in the castle... as long as he takes action while Mrs. Weasley is out.

Or, like Peter, disguise himself as an ordinary pet and mix in.

But Kael thinks he might not have the patience, and Ottery St Catchpole isn't close to Hogwarts either. If Black doesn't know the way, by the time he finds it, Hogwarts would probably be in session again.

Kael watched the map, but until the curfew was near, there was no anomaly, and Ron was safely staying in the common room.

"Maybe not today." Kael moved his somewhat stiff neck.

But just as he was about to put away the Marauder's Map, he accidentally saw Professor Lupin leaving his office.

Thinking of Professor Lupin's previous oddity, Kael's actions paused. He wanted to see what Lupin was going to do.

On the map, Professor Lupin came all the way to the eighth floor, to the door of the Gryffindor common room. Ron, Harry, and Hermione's names began to move towards him.

A few minutes later, Professor Lupin left, and this time another name followed him: Peter Pettigrew.

Has he met Blake?

"It seems so..."

Kael quickly thought, Lupin has recently been running to Hogsmeade frequently, certainly not for the reason the school circulated, to court Ms. Rosmerta from the Three Broomsticks... He's looking for Sirius Black.

As someone who was once the best friend, Professor Lupin surely knows where Black would hide if he's nearby.

Hogsmeade is only so big; after searching for so long, he must have found him.

Meanwhile, he should have also learned from Black's mouth that Ron's rat is Peter Pettigrew.

Now, he should be ready to find Black for a confrontation.

Having thought of this, Kael closed the Marauder's Map.

Just as he was thinking of how to get Mikel and Ryan away, the two happened to be discussing going outside to play a game of Gobstones.

After they left, Kael also cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself and walked out of the dormitory.

He had to hurry, or Professor Lupin and Black would likely start fighting.

The common room was bustling, and even if the door suddenly opened, no one paid attention, thinking it was just someone going to the kitchen for food.

Only Conna sitting in the corner turned her head, watching the empty passage, with a hint of thought flashing in her eyes.

Elsewhere, Kael arrived in the entrance hall just as Professor Lupin walked out the castle door.

He walked quickly, still looking troubled... not even noticing that there was half an arm floating a short distance behind him.

"He's left the castle."

Ron's anxious voice echoed in the empty entrance hall, "Does treating a pet need to leave the castle? He wouldn't..."

"Shush, Ron!" Hermione said, "Or we'll be discovered. Quickly follow!"

As she spoke, that half arm also floated out of the door.

No need to guess, it must be Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Because the Invisibility Cloak cannot completely cover three people, it exposed half an arm.

Then, outside the castle appeared a very interesting scene.

Professor Lupin quickly walked at the front, followed by half an arm, and Kael followed after the half arm...

When Professor Lupin reached the vicinity of the Whomping Willow, a big black dog suddenly sprang from the side, staring coldly at the rat in his hand that was struggling non-stop.

"You shouldn't be here, go back!" Professor Lupin shouted sternly.

The big dog growled a few times, and the next second, its body twisted and transformed into a gaunt man.

"I've waited long enough..." his voice was hoarse, "Remus, I've waited twelve years, in Azkaban..."

"No, we must..."

"So it was you!"

In Kael's incredulous gaze, the three in front of him directly exited the Invisibility Cloak.

Harry pointed at Professor Lupin and shouted, "You helped Blake sneak into the castle, both times! You're his accomplice!"

"I trusted you so much!" Hermione was trembling with anger.

Ron, even more, rushed forward recklessly, "Give Scabbers back to me!"

"Such nerve," Kael muttered quietly.

Knowing the other party is an extremely dangerous person, yet not hiding properly but choosing to take off the disguise and confront them directly... these three really are Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat sure knows how to pick.

This is only Sirius Black... if it were someone else, like Barty Crouch Jr or Bellatrix, these three might forever become companions to the Whomping Willow afterward.

However, Harry and the others' sudden appearance startled Professor Lupin, and while he was distracted, Black snatched the rat from his hand and turned to jump into the tree hole beneath the Whomping Willow.

"Sirius, come back!" Recovering, Professor Lupin immediately chased after him.

"Scabbers!" Ron followed closely behind.

"Ron..." That was Harry and Hermione.

In just a blink of an eye, the field was left with only Kael.

"The Sorting Hat sure knows how to pick..." Kael muttered again and then walked to the front of the Whomping Willow.

The previously volatile Whomping Willow was extraordinarily quiet at this moment. Kael's expression moved slightly, as he looked at the lush branches that were swaying and finally resisted the temptation, diving headfirst into the tree hole without turning back.

Forget it, now is not the time. We'll talk about it later.
