Chapter 387 - Chapter 385: Mist Merpeople

The light emitted by the four Patronus charms completely surrounded the pitch, keeping the Dementors twenty feet above the stands.

Soon, the professors in the castle got the news and hurried over.

More and more Patronus charms flew from different directions to the Quidditch Pitch, the dazzling silver light piercing through the rain like the sun, illuminating the entire field and dispelling the bone-chilling cold, bringing immense relief.

Even some senior students' Patronus charm levels started to soar, naturally conjuring their own Patronuses.

Meanwhile, new Patronuses also joined the battle.

The counterattack of Hogwarts had begun.

As the various Patronuses surged into the sky... the Dementors retreated, scattering and beginning to flee the pitch in panic.

Hagrid went to extremes, bringing in two unicorns from the Forbidden Forest to help... although it didn't do much good.

Unicorns are indeed the greatest natural enemies of Dementors, but Dementors can fly, and no matter how low their intelligence, they wouldn't actively float down to the ground to face the unicorns.

Moreover, Hagrid wasted quite a bit of time in the Forbidden Forest, and by the time he got here, the battle was nearly over.

Watching the last few Dementors disappear from sight, Professor McGonagall stomped her foot anxiously in her seat.

She really wanted to join the battle, but she had to maintain the original light screen to ensure the students were not harmed, ultimately being forced to watch the Dementors escape unharmed.

"What a great opportunity to deal with Dementors openly, and just like that, it's gone..."

Professor McGonagall was exceedingly upset, feeling as if she had lost a thousand Galleons... no, it was more painful than losing Galleons.

Galleons, once lost, can at least be earned back, but the chance to handle the Dementors may only come once... especially once Professor Dumbledore returns, the opportunity would be gone.

With this thought, Professor McGonagall instinctively glanced to the side.

If Snape had been able to participate just now, perhaps she could have had her hands free to give the Dementors a good beating.

For a professor to let a student take over responsibilities... tsk!

Facing Professor McGonagall's gaze, Snape turned his head aside, pretending not to see.

No one's Patronus mattered; at the end of the day, the situation was resolved, and that was enough.

But Professor McGonagall did not waste much time on such matters, quickly averting her gaze... she had more important things to do.

Dementors entering the school was utterly unacceptable, and the Ministry of Magic must provide an explanation...

She pressed her wand against her throat and shouted, "Everyone, quiet!"

At once, her voice echoed throughout the entire pitch.

"The match is temporarily suspended. Prefects are to take their house members back to the castle immediately..."

"Head Boy is on guard duty. If Dementors are spotted again, immediately shoot a red explosion signal into the sky..."

"No one is allowed to linger outside for any reason!"

The large stands didn't utter any complaints, and even the players from both teams did not oppose the match's suspension.

Under Professor McGonagall's arrangements, the students swiftly left the pitch and headed towards the castle.

Malfoy naturally couldn't take Harry away any longer, so Kael had to conjure a stretcher, placed Harry on it, and several volunteering Hufflepuffs carried him into the castle.

As they just arrived in the entrance hall, the Gryffindor team members rushed over, with Ron and Hermione among them, dripping wet as if having just crawled out of a swimming pool.

"Oh, Harry, thank goodness..."

Ron said excitedly, "We saw him and Malfoy fall into the stands together, but there were too many people around, and we just couldn't get through."

"Don't worry, he's fine."

Kael said, "It should be similar to what happened on the train, just find a classroom with a window, stick Harry's head out, and he should wake up soon."

"Uh, let's not do that." Ron chuckled awkwardly, "I think Madam Pomfrey probably has a way to wake him up."

On the train, there was no other choice but to splash water on Harry, but at school, it's definitely better to take him to the Hospital Wing.

"Suit yourselves." Kael said, "Remember to prepare some chocolate for when he wakes up; it will help."

Hermione and Ron nodded, then headed off to the Hospital Wing with Harry, along with Wood and other Gryffindor team members, except Fred and George.

They came over to Kael, their faces pale beneath the mud.

"That was terrifying..." Fred shivered with lingering fear, "I just felt a wave of cold, and when I turned around, the Dementor was less than five feet away."

"It's like all the happiness got sucked away."

George took a few deep breaths, "Facing the Dementors without the Patronus Charm felt like that... I have to say it was awful."

"Speaking of which," Fred suddenly asked, "Kael, which one was your Patronus just now?"

"Why ask?" Kael replied, keeping his expression unchanged, "Maybe I can't summon a Patronus at all."

"That's quite a joke," Fred praised, laughing.

"If it was ten minutes ago, maybe we would've believed that."

George stepped forward and patted Kael on the shoulder, "Don't forget, it wasn't just us on the Quidditch Pitch; many people saw you summon a Patronus. On the way back to the castle, we overheard at least two groups discussing it."

"Since you already know, why ask?" Kael said.

"Because every version we heard was different," Fred replied with a peculiar expression, "everyone claimed something different, almost as if all those Patronuses were conjured by you."

"Luna even said your Patronus is a Mist Merperson."

"So, what exactly is a Mist Merperson..." Kael puzzled.

"According to Luna, it's a Fantastic Beast that lives in the North Sea," George thought for a moment, "it has no fixed form, everyone sees it differently, sounds a bit like a Boggart."

"You guys believe that?" Kael looked at them.

"Hmm..." Fred stroked his chin, deliberately murmuring, "it's not impossible."

Kael wanted to say more, but suddenly a commotion arose in the crowd around them.

Professor McGonagall arrived, accompanied by several senior students who seemed to be the prefects of each house.

"Professor McGonagall!" Fred hurriedly asked, "Were all the Dementors driven away? When can we continue the rest of the Quidditch match?"

"We've got a thirty-point lead over Slytherin," George said.

"Today, I'm afraid it's not possible," Professor McGonagall looked rather regretful, but she didn't explain further, simply telling them to hurry back to the common room for a hot cup of chocolate.

Afterwards, she stopped Kael, who was about to leave.

"Come with me for a moment."

Although Kael wasn't sure what was happening, he nodded and followed her.

On the way, Professor McGonagall asked, "I heard from Digory that the jellyfish Patronus was conjured by you?"

"Yes," Kael replied, "did something else happen?"

"Not really," Professor McGonagall said, "but the Patronus Charm is quite advanced magic, very mentally exhausting, and facing so many Dementors at once, I think it would be better for Madam Pomfrey to check you over."
