Chapter 194 - Chapter 192: Doing Good Deeds Without Seeking Recognition

Kael leaned against the wall, listening to the footsteps outside gradually fade away.

"Hiss..." A sound of inhaling came from not far away.

Harry pulled off the Invisibility Cloak, suddenly appearing in the room like a magician's trick.

But he didn't notice there was another person in the room. After uncovering the cloak, he began to survey the room.

He discovered a very grand mirror there and curiously walked over, seemingly wanting to see his current appearance,

Soon, when Harry walked in front of the mirror, he couldn't move his feet anymore.

Not far away, Kael, who had witnessed the whole process, rubbed his forehead.

He had seen that mirror last year in the Headmaster's Office, it was The Mirror of Erised.

Kael also knew that the mirror's allure for Harry was undoubtedly enormous, but now was really not the time to look at the mirror.

Snape said earlier he was going to check the dormitories, did Harry forget so quickly?

Oh well, better remind him.

When Kael left the room, he deliberately made a loud noise and tossed a Knut over.

As a Chaser, Kael maintained his consistent performance, and the Knut traced an arc in the air, precisely hitting Harry on the forehead.

Hopefully, that will wake him up.

By that time, there were no professors on the fourth floor. After leaving the room, Kael quickly found that suit of armor and followed the secret passageway to the underground classroom.

A few people were standing in the kitchen corridor at that time. They had been awakened and wanted to see what was happening, but didn't dare leave the corridor.

Using the Disillusionment Charm, Kael quietly mingled into the crowd, then returned to the common room with them when Professor Sprout came over.

"Kael, when did you leave the room too?"

In the common room, Conna, hugging a pillow, asked sleepily, "What on earth is happening outside?"

"I don't know." Kael calmly shook his head and replied, "After being woken up, I went out, but it was pitch black outside, I didn't see anyone."

Conna nodded drowsily, unsure if she was even listening.

The next day, all of Hogwarts was abuzz with discussion about the events of the previous night. At breakfast, nearly half the people yawned from time to time.

"It was so thrilling, last night Professor McGonagall almost discovered you weren't in the dormitory." Ron, poking at a piece of fried egg on his plate, said sleepily, "How did you manage..."

"I've said it many times, Ron, it wasn't me!" Harry replied, annoyed. "I just went to the library!"

"But..."

"It was someone else!" Harry thought for a moment and said, "Remember that mirror I told you about?

I was so entranced by it, and it was that person who hit me.

If it weren't for them, I would definitely have been caught by Professor McGonagall."

"So, he's pretty nice." Ron said seriously, "He could have completely ignored you, and then no matter if points were deducted or detentions given, you'd take all the blame, and he'd be completely safe."

"Yeah, that's right, but who could that person be..."

Harry raised his head and scanned the auditorium, "Ron, do you think someone like me might have an Invisibility Cloak too?"

He hadn't noticed anyone nearby yesterday, just like how Filch couldn't see him at the time.

And to achieve this, in Harry's mind, it could only be done by an Invisibility Cloak.

"Probably not..."

Ron thought for a moment, shaking his head, "Invisibility Cloaks are rare, even among wizards, but... maybe Malfoy could have one."

He remembered how Malfoy bought a toy for a hundred Galleons before the Christmas break. If he wanted to buy an Invisibility Cloak, it wouldn't be that hard.

"Yeah, you're right." Harry also guessed Ron's thoughts and shrugged, "But Malfoy went home, and he wasn't at school yesterday."

"Yeah, such a pity..." Ron sighed.

After a moment of silence, Harry thought of that mirror again, and couldn't help but recall the image he saw in the mirror at the time.

Who could those two people be... his parents perhaps?

Time was too short, Harry didn't dare to be certain, he decided to go again tonight.

The two of them, immersed in their thoughts, didn't notice that their conversation was overheard by Fred and George nearby.

"Did you hear that, George, an Invisibility Cloak..." Fred raised an eyebrow.

"Of course, Fred." George said in a low voice, smiling, "There aren't many with Invisibility Cloaks at Hogwarts, and our friend is one of them."

"Lucky we didn't go home this Christmas, or we would've missed such a splendid show."

"Truly typical of Kael, making everyone get up five hours early... what a brilliant idea!"

Fred peeked towards the Hufflepuff direction, puzzled, "But why hasn't Kael come to the auditorium yet; I'm waiting to ask him for the details."

"Probably still sleeping," George considered, "Hufflepuff's common room is right next to the kitchen, they can eat whenever they want."

"So convenient..." Fred marveled, "If only we could move Gryffindor's common room there too."

"Yeah... that way we wouldn't have to go downstairs every night."

At the main table, the professors were also discussing the matter, they had made an unexpected inspection of each house's dormitories last night but found no students missing.

"We must have gone too late, and he returned early!"

Snape glanced at Harry and said slowly, "I suggest asking the Fat Lady if she saw any young wizard sneaking out at night."

Professor McGonagall pursed her lips and gave him a thoughtful look.

"Severus, we never ask the Fat Lady about student affairs." Dumbledore, beside them, shook his head and said, "And it wouldn't be fair to the other three houses either.

But you could try asking the other portraits in the corridors."

"I will..." Snape's face darkened, he glanced at the Gryffindor direction again, then got up and left the main table.

"In fact, I've already asked." After Snape left, Dumbledore winked at Professor McGonagall, smiling, "But they saw nothing, truly a clever young wizard..."

Professor McGonagall frowned, seemingly not entirely agreeing with the term "clever."

Dumbledore didn't notice this as he sliced a piece of smoked meat and continued, "It's been a long time since Hogwarts was so lively as it was last night.

I dare say Hagrid must be overjoyed; he was recently troubled by the increasing number of carnivorous slugs in his garden, and now the problem is suddenly solved."
