Chapter 971 - Chapter 944: King Kong

"Using the effect of the Giant Plant, Special Summon 'Carrot Man' from the Card Deck to the Graveyard!"

The card that had just gone to the graveyard was returned, drawn by Yugen and brought back to his hand. He slapped the Monster Card onto his Duel Disc again, and pale blue ripples of summoning were released from the Duel Disc, transforming into a projection that fell onto the field.

It's quite a distinct-looking monster, true to its name, with a body almost entirely made of carrots. A slender carrot-head, a pair of mischievous eyes, hands and feet all made of four large carrots, its appearance quite abstract.

[Carrot Man, Attack Power 1900]

Mr. T sneered coldly: "Ha, do you plan to defeat me with such cartoonish monsters?"

"Don't underestimate the power of cartoon characters." Yugen smiled, "I set two cards face-down, ending my turn."

Mr. T said: "Then it's my turn, draw card."

Yugen, although roughly remembering the card deck used by this Dark Underling in the animation, knew that the opponent didn't have a dedicated card deck; his strategy changed every appearance, so he couldn't rely too much on memory reference.

Soon, Mr. T drew a card and slowly raised his head, suddenly chuckling eerily.

"Activate Speed Attack Magic 'Handwriting Destruction'." Mr. T said, "Each player discards two cards from their hand, then draws two new cards from their Card Deck."

Yugen glanced at the remaining cards in his hand, quickly picked two to discard to the graveyard, and then drew again. He only gave them a quick glance, his attention soon returned to Mr. T to see what other tricks he had.

The cards of both sides had just been sent to the graveyard when a vast shadow seemed to flicker behind Mr. T, and a deep, resonant roar seemed to echo from his hand, hard to discern what creature it was.

"Looks like the two cards you just discarded," Mr. T adjusted his sunglasses, "were Monster Cards."

Yugen said: "Perhaps. So what?"

Mr. T gave a dry laugh, without directly answering, instead changed the subject.

"This world hides many unknown realms." Mr. T said, "Arrogant humans always believe they know the world around them, unaware that what they see is merely an insignificant leaf before them.

There are countless realms in this world that humans have never set foot in. For example, above the sea you call the Indian Ocean, there is an island that nurtures special power.

Deep within that primal island hides a special island ruler. And now, this power is in my hands, let's see its form today!

He drew out a Monster Card.

"When the opponent's hand or Card Deck sends a monster to the graveyard, this card can be Special Summoned directly from the hand in Face-down Defense Position!

The ruler of Skull Island, the King of Rocks—

—Gravel Rock Ape - Giant Gravel Rock King Kong, Summon!!!

With the summoning of the monster, it seemed as if the surroundings had turned into a dense and deep jungle. The rocks within that jungle began to move, rising with majesty, revealing themselves to be not rocks but a gigantic ape.

A towering ape-like creature, its sturdy body not covered in fur but instead a layer of glowing sedimentary gravel, like wearing natural armor. Rocks and body merged together, colliding with each movement, emitting a deep rhythmic sound like ancient war drums.

Yugen's eyelid twitched.

Wait, Skull Island bruiser, did you wander onto the wrong set...

This dark giant ape somewhat resembled a certain Skull Island bruiser he remembered, but upon close examination, it wasn't exactly the same. The main difference was that the giant ape's muscular body seemed to be made of rock, looking like a dark mountain from afar.

But the giant ape only flashed by briefly before crouching down, turning into a black card laid horizontally on the field.

"Well, if you thought the King Kong's summon was simply for Defense Position and were at ease, then you're too naive."

Mr. T's Monster Card was taken out of the graveyard, his arm sweeping, as one Monster Card appeared floating above him. With the release of effects and a special glowing effect, a dimensional vortex appeared behind the card, swallowing it inside.

"The 'AD Changer' in the graveyard activates its effect by excluding from the game." Mr. T said, "By excluding the 'AD Changer' in the game from the graveyard, change the position of one monster on the field!

I choose my face-down covered 'Gravel Rock Ape - Giant Gravel Rock King Kong' on the field, changing it from Face-down Defense Position to Face-up Attack mode!"

The horizontal card flipped, countless black gravel shards scattered around. The ape's body was freed, standing tall while its fists pounded its chest, roaring earth-shakingly.

Mr. T said: "Giant Gravel Rock King Kong, Monster Effect activate!

When this card is flipped, select up to two cards on the field to destroy."

Mr. T pointed without hesitation at the two barriers on Yugen's field.

"Destroy the Giant Plant and Carrot Man!"

King Kong angrily roared, striking the ground with its fist. The entire field seemingly descended under the hit, black shards launching towards the monsters on Yugen's field.

The Giant Plant and Carrot Man were both penetrated, shattered and retreated.

"With that, the annoying miscellaneous monsters are cleared out." Mr. T said, "Now it's time for a direct attack.

Use the endless fury to crush your enemy, King Kong strike!"

The Gravel Rock King Kong roared, scarlet eyes seemingly about to spit fire, giant iron fists swooping down towards Yugen.

The violent wind pressure swept in, Yugen faced it head-on without changing expression, shrugged and said.

"Only focused on the front-field monsters, completely ignored my face-down cards. No wonder you're outclassed in a one against five..."

Indeed, a classic scene in Yu-Gi-Oh! where Yuki Judai won one for five, came from the duel between Judai and Mr. T.

Mr. T said: "Are you still blabbering even in the face of death?"

Yugen smiled without retorting, snapped his fingers.

"Activate face-down card." Yugen said, "Continuous Trap 'Cursed Evergreen Ivy'.

Select one 'Evergreen Ivy' Monster from my graveyard for Defense Position Special Summon, equipping it with this card." (Original Card)

Yugen pinched the Monster Card drawn from the graveyard.

"Special Summon 'Evergreen Ivy Wall' in Defense Position from the graveyard."

Numerous green ivy crawled out from the graveyard, intersecting, quickly forming a wall in front of Yugen.

[Evergreen Ivy Wall, Defense Power 1200]

"Using miscellaneous monster to linger on." Mr. T said, "Then Gravel Rock King Kong, destroy that greasy wall."

King Kong punched without hesitation. How could the small Ivy wall withstand such a fierce hit, shattered immediately.

But strangely, the shattered Ivy wall did not disappear from the field right away; instead, the scattered remaining ivy pooled towards Mr. T's field, surprisingly took root in several empty Monster Zones, sprouting and growing.

Mr. T's expression slightly changed: "What?"
