"Alright, let's talk."
Yugen said, leading the manager, who seemed as if he had lost his soul, to his office.
But as soon as he entered, he was surprised to see a boy tied up on a chair.
"Huh? What's going on?" Yugen asked curiously.
Defeated Duelist Manager Unabara Ryusuke was now forced into a state of full disclosure, and in response to the questioning, he had to answer, "This is the son of a head of a local club.
The Dark Web has taken an interest in their organization and facilities, but they've always refused to cooperate. So we..."
Yugen didn't need him to finish; he already understood.
"He's quite a nuisance here." Yugen waved his hand, "Let him go."
Unabara Ryusuke dared not utter a word of protest, quickly nodding and bowing, then sternly ordering his subordinates.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and release him!"
The subordinates dared not delay, rushing to untie the boy on the chair and respectfully escorting him out.
The boy was completely bewildered. From his perspective, just ten minutes ago, Unabara Ryusuke was acting all high and mighty, torturing him to the brink of despair. But now, in just ten minutes, he returned with a completely submissive and turtle-like demeanor, the change so drastic that it left one speechless.
He quickly realized the key to this change lay with the man in white who had just entered. Though his father was the head of the underground club, he himself was not very involved in the world of Dark Duelists and did not recognize this newly infamous Revolver.
He only quietly memorized this man's appearance, feeling grateful and planning to tell his father about this man's kindness once he returned home. Yet at this moment, he dared not look back and quickly ran away.
Yugen sat down in the manager's seat, casually pointing to the chair opposite that had just held the boy, "You can sit down, don't be shy."
Unabara Ryusuke's face stiffened. That chair was wired with electricity used to torture the boy earlier. Hearing Yugen say this, he quickly smiled apologetically, "Ah hah, I'll pass, I'd rather stand."
Yugen raised an eyebrow, "You don't want to sit?"
"No...no, dare not."
With a grimace, Unabara Ryusuke had no choice but to sit down.
Previously, he had heard about other regions' Dark Web markets being wiped out single-handedly by this Revolver, feeling somewhat disdainful, thinking those managers were useless.
He believed that if it were him, Unabara, he wouldn't let people take advantage so easily.
To his surprise, retaliation came so swiftly, and he now understood why the Dark Web markets had fallen so easily. It wasn't the managers' incompetence; the opponent was beyond human.
A card deck, four Infinite Loops within just three turns!
What kind of concept is this?
In the history of dueling, recorded Infinite Loops have always been unleashed by top duelists in very specific situations, usually during the climax of the duel, forming a killer formation.
The most representative Loop remembered to this day is the one Muto Yuugi completed in Duel City against Phantom God Osiris' Sky Dragon, using an infinite loop to force the opponent to draw cards and empty their card deck for a rule victory.
This person's ability to construct an Infinite Loop was, not exaggeratedly said, as easy as eating and drinking water for Unabara Ryusuke.
This was power beyond his, and the general duelists' understanding, a level equal to those legendary bosses who could easily destroy worlds, and not within the same dimension as ordinary duelists.
When did the Dark Web provoke such an Immortal?
"Answer my questions," Yugen reminded.
"Questions? Oh yes..." Unabara Ryusuke finally regained his senses, his face bitter, "Is it about Prison No. 7? But I actually don't know much about it..."
Seeing Yugen's frown, he quickly added.
"It's true!"
"Kage Hebikawa's task was taken at your organization," Yugen said lightly, "And now you're saying you know nothing to clear your name?"
"You have to believe me... Also, having lost to you, I can't afford to lie, can I?"
Unabara Ryusuke spoke helplessly.
"The commission was indeed listed here, but some clients... well... let's put it this way, they're extremely cautious. They don't like to show their faces, even dealing with the Dark Web."
"I've heard the Dark Web requires identity registration to list commissions," Yugen said.
"It does require registration, but it doesn't have to be a real identity," Unabara Ryusuke replied, "For instance, right now we all know you as the famous Revolver, that's your identity on the Dark Web.
But if someone asked me who you are, that's all I could say, right?"
Seeing that Yugen seemed dissatisfied with the answer, he hurriedly supplemented before Yugen could speak.
"But I can hand over whatever was left by the client regarding the commission!"
"Oh? What is there?"
"A mobile storage device, primarily containing the plan for his intrusion into Prison No. 7. Detailed map, intrusion routes, he needs to hire a duelist to personally infiltrate that facility..."
He slapped his forehead.
"Oh right! There's also... the most critical part, the hacking program targeting Prison No. 7."
Unabara Ryusuke said, hurriedly signaling his subordinates to fetch the items.
"I don't understand much about these, but someone around me who's slightly knowledgeable said this is the most impressive program they've ever seen. Our client must be very familiar with Prison No. 7's security protocols; the person writing this program is not only a rare genius but also must know the Kaiba Group's system very well.
I thought this might serve as a clue..."
The subordinates rushed in, bringing the mentioned mobile device. Yugen took it.
Seeing that there seemed to be no further information to glean, Yugen stood.
"Alright then, thank you for cooperating in the investigation."
He spoke, conveniently sliding the card deck he took from Unabara Ryusuke's Duel Disc into his pocket.
Unabara Ryusuke kept his head down, pretending not to notice.
We dare not say anything, nor ask questions.
"Well, I'll leave it at that for today. If I recall anything further, I'll come back to see you."
"Alright, alright, take care."
Unabara Ryusuke cursed inwardly, but his face remained respectful. Though his mouth said he would welcome the return, inwardly he hoped he would meet a misfortune and never come back.
Taking the spoils of this venture back, Unabara Ryusuke's words were indeed true, the program was a key clue.
Returning to the Kaiba Group, Keihei's expression quickly became eerie after viewing the intrusion program.
"The Dark Web people were right, this is indeed a masterpiece of rare genius, and quite familiar with the Kaiba Group's system too.
And I think... I might know the author."
"Oh?" Yugen stood behind him, arms crossed, "An old acquaintance?"
"Sort of."
Keihei pondered for a moment.
"His name is Kigfried von Schreder."
