"Ritual Magic 'Orichalcos Reflector'!" Judge said, "Sacrifice Monsters from your hand and field with Levels totaling at least 6, to Ritual Summon the Ritual Monster 'Mirror Knight's Call' from the Card Deck!" (Original Card)
Judge sends a card from his hand to the graveyard.
"Sacrifice the Level six 'Time Devourer' (Original Card) from your hand to Special Summon 'Mirror Knight's Call' from the Card Deck."
What appeared on the field was a Monster resembling a prism, reflecting a clear, crystal light, appearing strange and seemingly lacking combat capability.
[Mirror Knight's Call, Attack Power 0→Attack Power 500]
"When 'Mirror Knight's Call' is summoned successfully, you can Special Summon any number of 'Mirror Knight Derivatives' onto your own field."
Judge chuckled lightly.
"And 'Orichalcos-Toritos' inherited the effects of the first two layers of barriers. The first layer has an effect... You haven't forgotten, have you?"
"Shared use of the Monster Zone and Magic Trap Zone." Yugen said.
"Correct."
Judge raised his arm high.
"Therefore, I have up to eight zones remaining to summon Monsters!
Special Summon eight 'Mirror Knight Derivatives'!"
The towering prism reflected an eerie arc of light, splitting into eight beams, falling on eight open zones in the front and back fields.
Each beam transformed into a knight clad in armor, resembling a medieval knight with armor covering them. In one hand, a coldly glistering long sword, and in the other a square shield. The surface of that shield was smooth as a mirror, capable of clearly reflecting the opponent's field, Yugen and the Twin Dragons he controlled clearly reflected on the mirror-like surface.
[Mirror Knight Derivative, Attack Power 0 → Attack Power 500] x8
Hibiki Midori was left astonished: "Summoning eight Monsters at once?"
What kind of card beyond common sense is this!?
Yugen did not speak, but in his heart, he thought, as expected, there are many fake cards in the Orichalcos arc. The animation part of this arc is filled with countless hook-effect fake cards...
...though some of them, which players considered impossible to become physical cards, are gradually being released.
So although these yet unreleased cards look absurd, there is no guarantee that K Society won't suddenly remember them one day, add some self-restriction, and release them.
"The strongest opponent a Duelist will face in their life is always themselves, and no one is exempt." Judge said, "And the Mirror Knight is the reflection of the true mirror of the inner heart."
Judge waved his hand.
"Then 'Orichalcos-Toritos' activated the effect acquired from the second layer barrier. It can draw Life Points from the Monsters it controls!
Once per turn, recover your own Life Points by 500 points times the number of Monsters on your field."
Everyone was shocked.
"Oh no, he has ten Monsters on the field now..."
"Indeed." Judge said indifferently, "Therefore, I recover five thousand Life Points."
[Judge, LP 4000 → LP 9000]
Yugen also frowned slightly.
Life Points nine thousand...
"Set two cards face-down in the back-field, then enter the battle phase."
Judge raised his hand.
"First it's the first 'Mirror Knight Derivative'." Judge said, "Attack 'Cyber Twin Dragons'."
Judai's heart tightened: "Using a Monster with only five hundred Attack Power to attack..."
He quickly realized, that's not right, it's not Attack Power 500. This five hundred attack is an augmentation from the barrier, meaning this Derivative originally has an Attack Power of only 0.
And as everyone knows, 0-attack Monsters are where those abnormal effects congregate.
As expected, Judge continued: "When 'Mirror Knight Derivative' battles an opponent's Monster, it can copy the opponent Monster's Attack Power value for battle.
Cyber Twin Dragons' Attack Power is 2800, hence Mirror Knight's Attack Power becomes the same value."
[Mirror Knight Derivative, Attack Power 500 → Attack Power 2800]
"Even Attack Power can be copied!?" Marufuji Ryo was also surprised.
Summoning directly eight Monsters, each with an effect to copy the opponent's Attack Power...
"Activate Continuous Trap." Yugen said, "'Dimension Guardian'!
Select one Monster on your field, as long as this card exists on the field, that Monster won't be destroyed by battle or card effects."
Exactly one of the three red pits used by Muto Yuugi in the movie to achieve an infinite loop, pit-falling the Blue God.
"Use 'Dimension Guardian' to protect 'Cyber Twin Dragons.'" Yugen continued, "The Twin Dragons protected by this card cannot be destroyed in any form."
The Mirror Knight flew and swung a sword, but it slashed against the transparent protective barrier. The rebound force instantly sent the knight retreating, unable to directly hit the Twin Dragons themselves.
"Well done, this way the Twin Dragons stand invincible!" Judai said, "And with equivalent Attack Power, if destruction is impossible here, then only the Mirror Knight will be broken!"
Sure enough, as Twin Dragons received the attack, it counterattacked naturally. The Cyber Dragon's jaws opened, electrical flow surged across its mechanical part, swiftly rushing into its mouth, transforming into a dazzling Evolutionary Light Flame spewing out!
But seeing the Mirror Knight about to be engulfed by the flame, it suddenly raised its left arm, using the shield in hand like a mirror to block in front. The Evolutionary Light Flame rushed against the mirrored surface, lingering for a moment. The mirrored shield shattered like glass hammered into powder, yet the knight's true body remained unharmed.
"The Mirror Knight wasn't struck down?" Hibiki frowned.
Judge said coldly: "The shield in Mirror Knight's hand can act as a substitute, blocking once destruction."
To describe it in K Society's more regulated language, these shields in Mirror Knights' hands should be a "Shield Indicator," removable as a substitute when these knights are destroyed."
"By the way, 'Mirror Knight's Call' has another effect. Once per turn, it can repair the shield of any Mirror Knight whose shield was destroyed." Judge said.
"What sort of outrageous ability is this!?" Hibiki's heart was shocked.
The Mirror Knight can copy Combat Monsters' Attack Power, and in battle use the shield in its hand as a substitute for destruction. The broken shield can be repaired once per turn.
And there are eight such Mirror Knights on the field...
These eight knights alone are virtually invincible!?
Both Hibiki and Judai increasingly realized that in previous battles with Momiji and Judai, the person really didn't exert his full power. This person has unfathomable power, certainly not someone ordinary Duelists can confront.
Only Kaiba remained expressionless. After all, they once encountered the Mirror Knights as well and suffered considerable hardship.
Back then, Dazi even captured the Souls of Tabletop Game, Beckas, Peacock Dance, and Joey and sealed them in different Mirror Knights as hostages, making Atom reluctant to strike, and ultimately, it was Kaiba who broke through the situation.
Compared, the situation facing Yugen now is far less dangerous than what they experienced back then.
But Atom and Kaiba were two facing Dazi alone back then, whereas now, Yugen faces Judge one-on-one in solo battle. There is no teammate to rely on, no one to assist, which made it somewhat disadvantageous compared to them.
Though Kaiba isn't physically on the stage, seeing the duel progress, he can't help but compare himself to Yugen. Even after their recent showdown, his Duelist's spirit couldn't help but stir restlessly.
"Battle continues." Judge's hoarse voice said, "Second 'Mirror Knight Derivative', attack 'Cyber Twin Dragons.'
"Ah?"
Keihei was greatly surprised.
Even knowing the attack is meaningless still insists on fighting?
