Chapter 434 - Chapter 54: Half-Baked Sandstorm (2/10)

Bury him!

Without the constraint of the Three Elite rescuers, Natsuhiko had no more qualms.

Someone wanted to kill him.

Twice.

If he didn't retaliate, he wouldn't stand it.

Besides, looking at him, he might really be the grandson of the current Sinnoh Region Elite Four, Hoshino Ryuzi.

Now their conflict was irreconcilable; rather than facing the hostility of the current Elite Four after leaving this Alternate Space, it was better to put an end to all possibilities right here!

His words were light, but in the silent environment here, they were not hard to hear.

Hoshino Ryosaki burst into laughter upon hearing Natsuhiko's arrogant words.

"Who do you think you are? Just a lowlife crawling out from the bottom of society!"

He retorted defiantly, but his actions were swift, the Pokeballs on his waist flashed continuously.

In the red light, four Pokémon appeared once more.

Standing at the front was a Pokémon shaped like a rockery, with a body made up of five dark blue stones, dotted with numerous sharp-edged orange crystal stones. It had yellow circles around its eyes, an orange inner eye, and black pupils.

Rock-type Pokémon, Gigalith!

With the appearance of Gigalith, the originally calm ruinous desert stirred up large clouds of dust again, rapidly forming a sandstorm.

Gigalith with the Blowing Sand trait.

Alongside it were the blue-bodied Water and Ground-type Pokémon Quagsire, the silver-grey floating Gliscor, the Lizard Photovoltaic Umbrella Lizard with a black upper body and gold lower body, and the last Pokémon encircling Hoshino Ryosaki, Flygon.

Adding the Excadrill that failed to sneak attack earlier and got reverse-killed by Doublade, these six Pokémon form a solid sandstorm team!

With Gigalith's emergence, the sandstorm became thick, and Hoshino Ryosaki's remaining Pokémon seemed to complement each other in the sandstorm.

Under sandstorm weather, non-Ground, Rock, and Steel types would suffer continuous damage, and the synergy of different trait Pokémon would be enhanced, while Rock-type Pokémon would receive massive special defense boosts.

Gigalith, with the Blowing Sand trait as the weather hand of the whole sandstorm team, will switch roles to a tank and Scattering Rock support after successfully activating sandstorm weather.

Quagsire's trait should be Water Storage; when attacked by Water-type Techniques, it not only won't get hurt but can recover its own health. Coupled with the combination of Water and Ground-type attributes, excellent species value distribution, and advantageous stamina, it's definitely a defensive player and a tank.

Gliscor's trait is Sand Concealment, making its figure elusive during sandstorm weather, reducing enemy attack accuracy and increasing its survival rate. Its techniques, species value, etc., allow it to become an excellent second physical attacker.

Heliolisk's trait is also Sand Concealment, primarily used to guard against the Rain Team's Water-type Pokémon, which most restrain the sandstorm team. As an Electric Type and General Type, Heliolisk can suppress Water-type Pokémon, also serving as a special attacker.

Lastly, although Flygon's trait is floating which doesn't fully integrate into the sandstorm system, as a Ground-type and Dragon-type Pokémon, even without sandstorm weather's support, Natsuhiko would still be wary of it.

Adding the earlier fallen Excadrill, this team is almost complete.

Excadrill with the Sifting Sand trait doubles its speed in a sandstorm, combined with the Sword Dance technique and its already excellent physical attack attribute, making it the first physical attacker in the sandstorm team.

Natsuhiko, seeing these Pokémon, although not yet battling them, could guess seven or eight out of ten about these Pokémon's traits, their roles in the overall team, and the techniques each Pokémon should master.

Sandstorm Team.

He knew it all too well.

It was once one of his favorite weather teams.

He knew clearly the roles every Pokémon should play.

Admittedly, as the grandson of the current Elite Four Hoshino Ryuzi, Hoshino Ryosaki's Pokémon combinations were inherently advantageous compared to other trainers.

Natsuhiko realized the significance of Pokémon combinations and team core strategy after witnessing battles from Agatha and Uncle Liu.

As the grandson of the Elite Four, it was clear that his grandfather wouldn't keep such things from him.

The team was already structured early on, only needing continuous cultivation to unleash its full potential at Elite Candidate Level or even Elite Trainer Level.

But Natsuhiko shook his head, "A pity."

"A pity?"

Hoshino Ryosaki, confident in the Pokémon his grandfather chose and paired for him, felt quite assured upon summoning all of his Pokémon.

Especially since, to less experienced trainers, such combinations seemed "dreamlike."

Perhaps some wouldn't understand the role traits play and the enhanced abilities under sandstorm weather.

Though none were his favorites, with Flygon being the only one he picked himself, while the rest were arranged by his Elite grandfather long ago.

Even so, he felt his combo should be unrivaled among his peers.

Why did Natsuhiko call it a pity?

Natsuhiko calmly raised his gaze, resting his hand on Yujira's back, swiftly merging their psychic powers, and Yujira instantly unfolded its Psychic Arena.

"A shame indeed, the only Pokémon with the Sifting Sand trait and my greatest threat, Excadrill, was eliminated by you early on, reducing the sandstorm team's power by a third."

Never underestimate Excadrill's importance with the Sifting Sand trait in sandstorm teams—it's crucial, second only to weather hands.

The strongest spear was eliminated?

"You understand?" Hoshino Ryosaki frowned, a bit taken aback by Natsuhiko's articulation.

Natsuhiko's words evidently struck a weak spot in his heart.

After Yujira established the Psychic Arena, Beedrill and Doublade unhesitatingly used Sword Dance for amplification, Yujira meditated, and Togetic revealed a crafty look, successfully employing the technique.

Natsuhiko continued.

"Additionally, it's unfortunate, for the weather hand is Gigalith and not Tyranitar. Except, maybe your grandfather thinks you're too young—Tyranitar being a quasi-god isn't suited for your current training; growing too slow, he lets you use Gigalith to transition."

With each sentence, Hoshino Ryosaki's face darkened.

Every statement from Natsuhiko precisely hit his sore spots.

"Finally, it is unfortunate the Flygon was likely your personal choice of Pokémon, yet you should've heeded your grandfather's advice, selecting a Chansey with the 'Natural Recovery' trait or a magic defense special attack output..."

Hoshino Ryosaki's eyes widened gradually.

The previous sentences were bearable, but upon hearing the last one, he could no longer restrain himself.

Why?

Why did he know so much about him?

Did they know each other before?

No! Hoshino Ryosaki was sure he hadn't met Natsuhiko before.

Then, it must be... he's very familiar with my Pokémon combinations!

Possibly even more so than himself, perhaps comparable to his grandfather.

If Natsuhiko knew what he thought, he'd definitely sneer.

Comparable to his grandfather?

Regarding sandstorm team comprehension, Natsuhiko could indifferently declare: all in the Pokémon Realm are amateurs before him.

Gently raising his head, having spoken so much, the Pokémon's statuses and buffs were all sufficiently layered.

Without Tyranitar, without the primary physical attacker, without the Sifting Sand trait, even lacking a qualified special attacker, can it be called a sandstorm team?

"A half-baked sandstorm team, watch me dismantle it."

What do weather teams fear most?

Attribute Suppression?

No.

It's the weather!
