Chapter 336 - Chapter 157: Sword of Universal Equality

The damage caused by the Beedrill's Direct Charge Drill, coupled with Doublade's two "Holy Sword" moves, finally knocked out the Tyrantrum.

Its massive body crashed heavily to the ground, causing the ground to tremble and raising a large cloud of dust.

Admittedly, this Tyrantrum was very strong, but it was only defeated after continuous attacks from the Super Beedrill and Doublade, along with support from Togetic and Yujira.

Originally, the Super Beedrill could have defeated it, but since Doublade took the initiative to challenge it, Natsuhiko decided to give it a chance even if it meant losing. Surprisingly, Doublade became so fierce after evolving.

The mastery of the Holy Sword techniques also truly caught him off guard.

As far as he knew,

the "Holy Sword" technique could only be acquired by Doublade and certain Divine Beasts, Phantom Beasts, and Ultimate Beasts.

Regardless of how strong the technique actually is, just the fact that regular Pokémon can master moves that only Divine Beasts can learn is impressive.

Moreover, the power of the Holy Sword technique is not weak.

Additionally, it comes with an effect that can ignore changes in the target's evasion rate and defense power.

This means that if you encounter an opponent who likes using tactics such as "Minimize" or "Iron Defense," Doublade can simply use the Holy Sword to show them who's boss.

Therefore,

the Holy Sword is also known as the—Sword of Universal Equality.

Under the Holy Sword, all are equal.

Of course, there is some exaggeration involved.

But mastering this technique is still very helpful.

After defeating the Tyrantrum, Doublade did not leave. Instead, it hovered above its head, gesturing with its blades around the Tyrantrum's neck, as if preparing to strike.

Despite losing its ability to battle and falling down, the Tyrantrum quickly regained consciousness. However, it couldn't move freely.

Thus, it saw Doublade preparing to make a move.

Suddenly, it shivered, the scales on its neck standing on end.

Facing Doublade's open eyes, its gaze trembled.

It's serious.

Is it going to dismember me?!

While I'm still conscious!

Not far away, Natsuhiko also noticed Doublade's unusual state.

Its eyes still held a hint of madness and ferocity.

He furrowed his brows.

Would Doublade become this violent in such a state?

Could it be that its usual suppressed personality was unleashed after evolving?

Or was it...due to the influence Giratina had on it in the past?

This hidden personality wasn't displayed during its Honedge phase, only revealing itself after evolving into Doublade...

Seeing Doublade ready to strike, lifting its blade to deliver a blow, Natsuhiko snapped out of his thoughts and quickly shouted:

"Doublade!"

The icy sharp edge was less than three centimeters from the Tyrantrum's neck scales before it stopped.

The Tyrantrum held its breath, its heart pounding.

Thankfully, as a Lord and a Dragon-type Pokémon, it didn't lose face and didn't scream.

On the other side, seeing Doublade stop its action, Natsuhiko silently breathed a sigh of relief.

Doublade hadn't completely lost its mind; it could still hear him.

Then,

Doublade slowly lifted its head, its gaze falling on Natsuhiko.

Blinking its eyes.

The crazed madness in its eyes gradually cleared, a wave of fatigue washed over it, and after casting a "regretful" look at Natsuhiko, it slowly closed its eyes.

However, Doublade did not fall into a coma.

As one eye closed, the other eye, originally shut, slowly opened.

Beginning with a brief confusion, then seemingly remembering something.

Glancing at the Tyrantrum beneath it, who was clenching its teeth without making a sound, then looking at Natsuhiko and the other Pokémon not far away.

Blinked its eyes.

Suddenly, fear and shock appeared in its eyes, as if asking, "Did I do this?"

Immediately, it fled from the Tyrantrum and returned to Natsuhiko's side.

Seeing Doublade's reaction, Natsuhiko smiled helplessly.

It seems his guess was correct.

Doublade really had developed a mental conflict, with one side being its original timid and cautious nature, and the other a violent and ferocious side, even after defeating the Tyrantrum it still wanted to slice it up.

He wasn't sure if this was good or bad.

But it felt as if...the eyes now open and the ones closed represented the sword and shield, but it seemed somewhat mismatched...

"Togetic!" Togetic stood behind Natsuhiko, clutching his leg, peeking at Doublade, and gently called out.

Truth be told, the ferocious side of Doublade shown earlier had scared it a little.

Hearing Togetic's query, Doublade was momentarily lost for words.

It seemed to have an impression of the earlier process, yet also seemed unrelated, like it was an observer rather than a participant.

Confirming Doublade had truly "recovered," Togetic finally thumped its small chest and came forward, recounting what just happened.

"Wasp Buzz."

Beedrill approached Doublade, gently tapping it with its Long Needle to express its gratitude.

Doublade scratched its head with its magenta ribbon, grinning sheepishly, unsure how to handle the situation.

Still, it felt as though its relationship with Natsuhiko, and with Beedrill and the others, had become closer, the distance smaller.

"Congratulations, Doublade, we must continue working hard together in the future." Natsuhiko smiled warmly, stroking its hilt.

"Yes, yes." Doublade nodded repeatedly, feeling its own power shift.

It needed Natsuhiko's help to better survive in this world.

Noticing Doublade's changing gaze, Natsuhiko smiled once more, patting its hilt.

This Doublade was more familiar.

It was unexpected that the second Pokémon of his to reach the Elite Level was Doublade.

At the time, Honedge was indeed the strongest of the trio in terms of Senior Level power.

But because of its personality issues, Natsuhiko had never thought it would be the first to break through and evolve.

Looking back now,

he had underestimated Honedge's potential a bit.

Just after evolving, its power rivaled Beedrill's, showing how long it stayed at the Honedge stage and accumulated strength.

With Honedge's evolution, defeating the Tyrantrum and claiming this residence wasn't as joyful anymore.

Still immersed in the joy of Doublade's evolution, they approached the now conscious but yet to recover Tyrantrum.

Taking out a regular Pokeball.

Smiling, he said, "Pokeballs are expensive, don't waste my Pokeball, understand?"

Tyrantrum stiffened its neck, remaining silent.

Natsuhiko didn't say much more, just tilted his head to glance at Doublade.

Tyrantrum's gaze followed his, seeing Doublade smile with "timidity" and some "friendly" intent. Its gaze quivered, swallowing hard.

Natsuhiko then threw the Pokeball.

The result was expected.

Though Tyrantrum appeared proud, after the Pokeball was thrown, it quickly ceased its trembling.

Receiving the Pokeball handed over by Yujira's psychic power.

This cave was officially theirs.

With Tyrantrum's long-term residence here having established its territory, short-term safety shouldn't be a concern.

Tonight they could sleep soundly.
