Chapter 239 - Chapter 61: Meteor Shower!

Overall blue-green, with a pair of red eyes and slender antennae, it resembles a dragon, with wings like rhombuses, wrapped in a circle of red patterns, and the tail's end forms a fan shape with three such patterns.

Elite Level.

Flygon!

As its name suggests, it mostly lives in deserts, vigorously flapping its wings to whip up sandstorms, using them to hide its form.

With dual attributes of Ground Type and Dragon Type, it is also known as "Little Earth Dragon."

But this is inside Meteor Falls, why would there be a Flygon here?

Before he could ponder this question, the Flygon, after colliding with Beedrill once, did not stop its actions.

Its wings flapped to stabilize its form, mouth abruptly opening, emitting a sharp, ear-piercing noise like the grating of metal on teeth, causing the Pokémon to shiver uncontrollably, their skin involuntarily contracting and expanding.

Ear-piercing Sound!

Greatly reducing the Pokémon's defense.

Beedrill was indisputably affected.

Natsuhiko furrowed his brow, his hairs undoubtedly standing on end, but he still shouted against the noise:

"Beedrill, Sword Dance!"

Beedrill let out a low growl, a red halo enveloping its whole body, visible airflow rising, its compound eyes steadfastly fixed on Flygon, feeling immense pressure from the opponent.

Yet Beedrill didn't retreat because of this, instead, it stirred a surging battle desire from the depths of its heart.

Since reaching Elite Level, Beedrill found it hard to muster interest in the Pokémon it encountered swiftly.

Because they were too weak, unable to endure its full effort, they'd fall with little resistance.

So along this path, it mostly aided Togetic and Abra from the sidelines, ensuring Natsuhiko's safety, hardly intervening.

But upon seeing this Flygon, after trading a move, Beedrill's heart was uncontrollably ignited.

This was a Pokémon not inferior in strength to Druddigon, perhaps even stronger, both being Dragon-type Pokémon.

This made it want to decide victory or defeat with Flygon immediately.

"Buzz." Beedrill softly called.

As one who knows it best, Natsuhiko could understand Beedrill's intent, even if it didn't speak.

He gestured to stop the ready-to-help Togetic and Abra, his eyes gleaming.

His purpose was to train Pokémon, and what could be a better opponent for Beedrill than this Flygon?

"Let Beedrill fight for a while first," Natsuhiko said.

At his words, Togetic and Abra withdrew their excited energies.

Though Ear-piercing Sound reduced defense, Beedrill completed Sword Dance's boost, now entirely focusing on physical confrontation.

Flygon seemed to sense the threat from Beedrill, its red eyes brimming with fighting spirit.

Though adversaries, the Pokémon shared a deep understanding at this moment.

The next instant.

Beedrill and Flygon almost simultaneously sprang into motion.

Flygon whipped up sand with its wings, its tail gently swaying like a green arrow, shooting straight out.

Beedrill hesitated not a moment, surrounded by Tailwind's airflow, each wingbeat seeming to accompany subtle electric hums, streaking through the dim cavern, leaving a golden arc.

Sharp Long Needle wrapped in blue glow, Cross Cut following the needle's sweep, facing a whipping hefty tail, deeply infused with Dragon Energy, Dragon Tail!

Boom!!

The collision erupted in fierce airflow.

Sand and stone particles stirred by Flygon scattered.

Both Pokémon were propelled back by the force, though Beedrill's defense was lowered, its attack power saw significant increase.

In the exchange, Beedrill gained considerable advantage in offense, making Flygon endure significant damage, yet Flygon's attack caused Beedrill pain.

"Buzz!"

"Buzz!"

Beedrill and Flygon stared at each other, their eyes locking.

Flygon swayed its fan-like tail, its body showing strange rhythm.

Dragon Dance!

Flygon clearly sought to employ Dragon Dance to bridge their difference.

But Beedrill wouldn't allow such a chance, its airflow growing increasingly fierce, body shooting out electrically, beginning rapid spinning under the airflow's propulsion.

Deadly Needle Stab!

The fierce incoming wind forced Flygon to halt, its Dragon Dance interrupted, hastily sweeping its fore claws.

Dragon Claw!

Sharp Dragon Claw clashed with Beedrill's needle, emitting an ear-splitting sound.

This time.

Flygon, hastily responding, was clearly at a disadvantage, under Beedrill's attack, swiftly knocked from the air, crashing to the ground, creating a crater amidst scattered rock shards.

"Buzz!"

Beedrill, having struck successfully, didn't plan to give Flygon time to resist, turning toward the rising dust, its crimson compound eyes locked on the vague shape therein.

This move, would finish Flygon!

Yet, just as it charged into the dust, a sudden sense of alert overtook.

Natsuhiko's timely warning arrived: "Beedrill, dodge!"

With a wing flicker, its figure split into shadows.

Whoosh——

A scorching fireball nearly grazed it in its evasion, shattering Beedrill's shadow clone, soaring upward.

Before Beedrill could relax, Natsuhiko instantly called: "Beedrill, watch behind!"

Only to see the fireball ascend, not crashing directly on the cavern's roof, but bursting into fireworks at a certain height.

Natsuhiko grimaced.

He did not expect Flygon mastered this move.

The recently shot lava fireball was...

Dragon-type technique, Meteor Shower!

Among Dragon-type Pokémon, one of the most powerful techniques.

Boom!!

Blazing hot lava fireballs fell from above, Beedrill, with Natsuhiko's warning, using Shadow Clone and Shield of Retribution, managed to avoid severe damage.

Yet inevitably, it suffered some injury.

"Buzz!"

The somewhat battered Flygon emerged from dust, staring at Beedrill, eyes showing disbelief.

Beedrill was hurt too, but its momentum outstripped Flygon's, defiantly glaring back.

"Cease! Flygon!"

Suddenly, an abrupt voice rang out.

Trainer!

Natsuhiko's eyes narrowed, following the sound, seeing a young man in gray robes, with a slightly retro style, around twenty years old, panting as he rushed from the tunnel opposite the cavern.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Flygon indeed ceased its actions.

Glancing at Beedrill, then flying toward the approaching youth.

But Natsuhiko's expression wasn't pleasant.

He thought this Flygon was wild, but realized there was a Trainer.

What's the meaning of initiating an attack without saying anything?

And now stopping the battle without explanation?

"Beedrill," Natsuhiko called.

Beedrill understood Natsuhiko's intent, its gaze fixed on the approaching youth, unless he gave a reasonable explanation, no matter Beedrill's regard for Flygon, they'd learn the cost of random assaults.

Meanwhile, the previously passive Togetic rose, and Abra opened its eyes.

They too stood prepared to act.
